Marinette knew that Chat Noir was more like his animal than she was hers. His pranced around on all fours as the norm. Oftentimes, he'd balance himself on her balcony's railing, perched in a crouched position ready to pounce on an incoming bird. His cat-like behavior was no surprise to her, but the extent to which they were? That surprised her. Marinette guessed he chose to act like a household feline, because she certainly didn't feel the overwhelming urge to munch on random plant leaves. Nor did she climb up trees and attempt to lay hundreds of eggs at once. However, there were some moments where Marinette wondered, as herself or as Ladybug, if Chat Noir's kitty-cat howls were truly by choice or not.

Case in point, one late fall day. Chat had nestled his way into her room, her parents had finally loosened their hard stares and let them breathe in the comfort of her room. And by parents, Marinette meant just her father, and for very good reason. Marinette had completely forgotten about a pre-planned group hangout with some friends when the cat in black had showed up. Alya called her 30 minutes before to remind her, as she knew Marinette would forget and be late. Marinette very much appreciated the fact that Alya knew her so well, she'd make the time to help her out in these little ways.

"What do you mean you have to go?" Chat Noir whined. He had managed to stretch himself at the foot of her bed. Marinette rolled her eyes at him and searched her closet for a scarf.

"I mean, my friends and I had decided to go to a pumpkin patch weeks ago, and the day we chose is today." The black-haired girl shoved her arms through a long grey cardigan. Where was her scarf? Marinette scanned around before finally spotting the very on brand fall themed scarf and wrapped it around her neck.

"But can't you tell them you're busy?" The clingy cat cried. Marinette raised a brow at him. He only gave her a very innocent and hopefully look, strangely enough, big round puppy dog eyes rather than those of a sharpened cat's eye.

"No, I'm not going to flake." Marinette said firmly, slipping her feet through some new boots that she was very excited to wear.

"What about me? You can't just flake on me!" Chat pouted like a baby.

"You coming was not planned. This was." Despite that, Chat Noir continued to whine.

One may think that with saving the city everyday thing, Chat Noir would be more mature than the average Parisian. Marinette however, believed the opposite was true. Chat Noir was a baby, in the position of a superhero, which admittedly was a strange position but then again, Marinette was hardly able to drive legally and yet she was saving the day every night.

Moving past that, Chat Noir was a child through and through, he wanted attention at all times and food. Half the time, the only thing on his mind was, playyyyy. Not that Marinette minded of course, she liked the breaks from grueling homework and near anxiety attacks about her overcover life. Besides, he was a fairable Mecha Strike player and it was always a joy to destroy him.

"Don't you love me?" Chat Noir had jumped off the bed, landing on all fours of course, and pranced over to her side. "If you loved me you would stay." He tried.

Marinette shook her head, lightly kicking his side so she could make her way to her bed where her phone was. "I do love you, yes but I love my other friends too. They want to spend time with me too." Marinette had just the strangest feeling that she had said similar words to a kid she was babysitting. But then again, with one looking at the pouting baby face Chat Noir was making, one could argue she was babysitting. Only this was a possible teen boy… wow was Marinette's life strange and in ways one would not expect.

"Well at least tell me who you're going to leave me for." Chat Noir huffed, crossing his arms as he finally sat up like a normal person.

Marinette sighed and compiled. "Alya, Rose, Juleka, Alix, Mylene, Juleka, Max, Kim, Nino, Luka, Iva- wait wait wait, are- are you hissing?" Marinette stopped mid-sentence.

She stared incredulously at Chat. The hissing didn't cess, though she highly doubted he had made an effort to do so. Either way, Marinette didn't get a direct answer but from the high pitched noise emulating from the black-cat themed superhero, her assumption wasn't far off.

"No." Chat said stubbornly once he finally managed to calm himself down. He turned his face away. Marinette practically gaped at him.

"Oh my god, you were hissing." She pointed a finger at him. It was still trying to compute in her head. She knew Chat was strange but never even one did she think he could hiss.

"I wasn't!" The blonde was still swimming somewhere in Egypt.

Marinette shook her head, no it was loud and clear. "You were hissing!"

It took about three seconds for Marinette to realize how funny this situation was. Chat Noir, who was still a human despite his cat tendencies, had hissed like an actual cat and couldn't exactly control it. She tried to muffle the laughter but with one pleading look from him, it broke her. Bright bubbling giggle escaped her mouth, making Chat pout harder.

"Sorry, sorry." Marinette gasped, leaning down to give him a tight hug, to which he begrudgingly held onto her arm as it was around his chest. "It's just… I didn't expect that." Marinette finally got herself to calm down and saw that even Chat was suppressing a smile.

"Don't tell anyone that." Chat pleaded. Marinete agreed, though mentioned she would not let it go. Chat Noir groaned and dropped his head in embarrassment.

It took about 10 minutes to get the Chat Noir heap off the floor so Marinette could gather everything she needed for the afternoon and night.

"By the way? Why did you hiss?" She asked and rather offhandedly at that.

Chat Noir cocked his head to the right side and crinkled his brows in confusion. "I don't know." He said.

Marinette rolled her eyes, an amused smile playing on her lips. "There has to be a reason. I mean, cats don't randomly hiss at nothing. They hiss when something bothers them." Marinette tapped his nose twice. "What's bothering you?" She asked tenderly. Chat Noir shrugged.

"I don't know." Marinette sighed. "All I know is that you were listing your friends and then I started hissing. I don't know why, or even how actually. Just that I did." Marinette nodded.

Odds were, he was jealous that her other friends got to hangout with her for the night. Cats were generally possessive, though most people didn't realize that, and were especially towards their owner. Marinette was mostly likely the closest thing Chat had to an 'owner' though they were really just friends. He really liked clinging to her and wanted all her attention. So it made sense that he didn't like it when she was taken away.

"Here." Marinette said, lifting Chat's head with a finger under his chin. "Tomorrow, I will clear my schedule. We can hangout all day, no me leaving to do stuff." She told him and his eyes began to shine so brightly she swore she could see stars gleaming.

"Really?" He asked like a kid who had just been told by his parents he could have another piece of candy.

Marinette laughed a bit and nodded.

"Yes really." She promised. Chat Noir wrapped his arms tightly around her waist. Marinete squeezed him back before letting go when hearing her phone chime.

"It's from Alya. She and Luka are here to pick me up. I'll see yo- are you hissing again!?"

"NO! I was not!"

"You were, oh my god!"
