A/N: This is something I wrote in a couple of hours. It kept coming to my mind so I decided to just write it. It's not the best story you'll ever read but I hope you may have fun with it. If the idea of Sakura cheating on Sasuke with his brother is not your cup of tea, this isn't for you. Feel free to leave a comment!
"Itachi… this was the last time. I can't do this anymore."
"What? Do you think he found out about us?"
"No. He doesn't need to know about anything, but I can't cheat on him anymore."
A few minutes earlier, Itachi and Sakura were entangled on each other's naked body, panting and grunting after the climax of their pleasure. What could have happened that made Sakura want to end her affair with him? Was he not good enough? Was he not caring enough? Was she not satisfied with his love?
"But, Sakura, we were doing fine, we are careful and discreet; he would never find out about us. Did I do anything wrong?" His usual calm voice and gentle expression melted into a strained voice and pleading expression. Itachi was losing his grip on this woman; this wrong, deliciously wrong woman.
"You did. You were wrong from the beginning, we were wrong. This should have never happened. Sasuke is my husband and your brother. He is your own blood. This is wrong in all ways. I'm sorry, but it's over." Sakura carried regret in her voice. Her face was dark and plainly serious.
It all began when Sakura was only fifteen and Itachi was nineteen. He knew Sakura since Sasuke's academy days. They were in the same group and were later put together in the same team with Naruto. Itachi witnessed Sakura's emotional, mental and physical growth. At this age she began morphing into a beautiful woman, not to mention that she was talented, kind, strong, and reliable. This is how his admiration for her developed into a forbidden passion.
He secretly admired her for many years, but never had the courage to tell anyone. He knew Sasuke had a thing for her, even if he didn't want to admit it, and he knew Sakura had always been in love with his younger brother.
When Sasuke and Sakura were both nineteen, they officialized their relationship. During that time his life was a torture. Sakura came over often. After a few months his parents granted her permission to sleep over. At night, when he walked past his brother's bedroom door, he occasionally caught the sight of them cuddling, kissing, and, on one stormy, disgraceful night, he saw his brother with his head buried on the crook of her neck, languidly thrusting inside her, with one of her breasts in his hand, while she quietly moaned. He wanted to tear his eyes out.
One year and a half later, they exchanged vows. Itachi wanted to go out on a mission, whichever mission there was for him, because he didn't want to watch his brother take for him the woman that he was in love with; it was too painful to see those two sealing their union with that stupid chaste kiss, holding their hands, with overflowing happiness.
If Sakura was so off-limits, how did they end up having an affair? Well, it happened in one summer festival. Sakura quickly got drunk and Sasuke was looking for someone to take her back to his parents' house.
"Itachi, are you leaving already?" Sasuke asked.
"Yes, do you need anything?"
"Yeah, can you take Sakura back to our parents' for me? Some of my stuff is still there and father wants me to take them to my apartment, so I'll go there to take them and Sakura will come back home with me when I do so."
"Oh, okay. Is she alright?"
"Yeah, she's just hammered. Put her in my bed, please. Oh, she might say a lot of bullshit, but that's just the alcohol. I'll be there in a couple of hours, I can't miss Naruto and Kiba making fools out of themselves in the games."
Itachi took Sakura by the arm and led her out of the square the festival was being held at. Her cheeks were pink and her feet were unstable due to the liters of sake she drank. After fifteen minutes walking through the village in silence with a drunk Sakura by his side, he decided to speak.
"You alright, Sakura?"
She looked up at him. Her face was blank but as she realized it was Itachi taking her home, her expression went from blank to utterly surprised.
"Oh! It's Itachi-san. Itachi, how are you?"
He had to keep up with this silly dialogue until he got home. She was incredibly loud and none of what she said made sense.
"But this is your house, Itachi-san. Where is my house?" She asked as Itachi brought her inside the house. The Uchiha district was completely empty; everyone was at the festival and it was still early for people to be coming back home. Itachi wasn't in the mood for festivals today, he had some dango with a couple of friends and was heading home when his brother called him out.
"Sasuke will come to get you later, Sakura. I will put you to sleep now, okay?"
"Oh… oh Sasuke. He's so cute isn't he?!" Itachi nodded at her inquiry. "But why am I here, Itachi-san?"
"You're drunk."
"Oh, I get it now. Sasuke doesn't like it much when I'm drunk, did you know that, Itachi-san? But he says it's easier to undress me," she giggled.
"Oh, is that so?"
"Yeah. Then he throws me in our bed and makes those things - those things he likes to do to me, Itachi. Oh, it's so good when he does that thing with his tongue! He's very good at making love to me, Itachi…"
Itachi became redder and redder at Sakura's drunken chattery.
"Okay, Sakura. Go to sleep now, he'll be here soon." She was already in Sasuke's old bed, covered in a thin blanket. Itachi had reached the door to leave when she called him.
"Itachi? I want to ask you something."
"Yes?"
"Are you good at making love, like Sasuke?"
If only I could show you… "Good night, Sakura."
Itachi ran to the kitchen. He gulped a large glass of water and tried to wipe out the wrong thoughts in his mind. He sat in the living room to read a book while Sakura slept in the bedroom. After forty minutes, he decided to check on her.
He gingerly set foot in the bedroom and sat on a little stool in front of the bed.
Sakura slept peacefully.
Itachi couldn't stop the impulsive force that ran over his body when he leaned close to her face and kissed her on the lips.
He straightened up and looked at her.
Sakura fluttered her eyes open.
"Itachi?"
"I'm here."
"What were you doing?" She asked as she sat on the bed.
"I was just checking on you."
"Oh. I had the impression that someone kissed me. It must have been a dream, then." Sakura was feeling better, but her judgement ability was still clouded by the alcohol.
Itachi made an impulsive decision and suddenly kissed her again. Sakura's eyes went wide at Itachi's unexpected action.
"What are you doing?" She asked when he broke the kiss. Her heart beat so fast she thought it could come out through her mouth.
"I don't know. I just know that I want you." He kissed her again. She didn't resist him and reciprocated the kiss.
Sakura was still dazed. She knew this was wrong, but she gave in to Itachi's advances.
He sat on the bed with his back to the headboard and instructed Sakura to straddle him. They kissed insanely for minutes, only stopping when their lungs burned for air. Itachi quickly removed her summer dress and tossed it aside. He kissed her neck while removing her bra, and she dug her fingers in his hair as she felt his hot tongue against her exposed skin.
Itachi laid her down on the bed. He braced himself on the mattress to kiss her lips again. Sakura buckled her hips against his hard shaft, frictioning her bundle of nerves against his sweatpants. Itachi was already shirtless, all he had to do was to get rid of his pants.
He prepared Sakura before sliding inside her. He played with her clit, making circular then up-and-down motions, driving her insane with pleasure. He put two fingers inside her and teased her with maddening in-and-out movements until she coated his fingers with her essence.
He removed his fingers from her and positioned himself at her entrance. With one movement he was entirely inside her. When he adjusted himself to her walls, he moved his pelvis with quick motions.
Sakura spread her legs to grant him more access, silently asking him to go faster. In a few minutes he spilled inside her and felt her walls clenching in on him. Their gasps and moans filled the silent bedroom. With his forehead leaning against hers, he gave her a few more long thrusts and collapsed beside her, exhausted.
Itachi, smiling, turned to face her. What he saw was understandable, but not expected. Sakura was looking at the ceiling, petrified with horror.
Before he could say anything, she whispered, as if she was talking to herself, "What have I done? God, what have I done?"
She quickly stood up and began dressing herself up.
"Sakura - "
"I'm leaving."
"Sasuke will be here soon."
She turned back to him, with a disgusted face, and said, "I can't stay here, Itachi, not after what I've done. Tell him I didn't want to wait for him." She stormed out of the house, not allowing Itachi to go after her.
Itachi changed the bedsheets and decided to have a shower. He had just been intimate with the one woman he ever wanted, but the guilt he felt was inimaginable. An hour after Sakura left, Sasuke arrived.
"Where is she?"
"She was feeling better, so she went home."
"Oh, okay then."
Sakura jumped from rooftop to rooftop, not being able to control her tears. She went straight to the shower when she got home. Scrubbing her skin with a sponge wasn't enough to wash away the shame she felt. She used a mirror to make sure there were no bruises on her body, then put on her pajamas. After that, Sakura went to the kitchen to make herself some tea. Her eyes were no longer swollen from crying and the smell of alcohol and Itachi were no longer perceptible. She calmed herself and waited for Sasuke to get home, which didn't take long.
He bursted the door open and cheerfully asked, "Hey, sweetie, did my brother annoy you to the point of making you want to get away from him?"
She forced a smile and replied, "No, I took a nap and wanted to come home when I woke up."
Holding back tears, she went to bed with her husband. When she couldn't sleep thinking about her terrible mistake, she stood up and took a sleeping pill. Only then could she momentarily forget about the events that happened on Sasuke's single bed, back in his childhood home.
Sakura focused her mind on her job the whole week. She didn't allow herself to remember what had happened between her and her brother-in-law. She was being successful until Itachi stepped in her office.
"What are you doing here?" She nervously inquired.
"I'm here to talk to you."
"I have nothing to talk to you about. If you'll excuse me, I have work to do." She pretended to organize a pile of folders, expecting him to go away. But he didn't.
"Sakura, you can't escape it. And you can't ignore it. We must talk about it."
"Talk about what, Itachi? About how I cheated on my husband with his brother? This is unacceptable!"
"I know this is hard for you, but it is hard for me too. Sasuke is my little brother and I love him. I know last night probably didn't mean anything to you, but it meant a lot to me."
"What? What are you talking about?"
"I'm in love with you."
Sakura sat back on her chair and took a deep breath. "This is great. Oh my God, Itachi! You can't be in love with me!"
"I know I can't. But I am. We can't control our feelings, Sakura."
"Itachi, you have to let this go. Let's forget that night ever happened and move on with our lives."
He nodded at her and left her office.
But the next week it all happened again. Itachi found her alone in an equipment room in the Hokage tower. She was nice to him, pretending nothing ever happened between them, but Itachi couldn't help his impulses again and bruised her lips with kisses. Kisses which she willingly accepted.
The matter with Sakura was that she couldn't resist Itachi. She loved Sasuke with all her heart, body, and mind, but Itachi was this forbidden treasure she longed to have.
They began meeting in secluded places, usually disguised; Sakura would lie about in-home medical appointments; Itachi would use his secret cabin in the woods so they could be undisturbed; the list goes on.
Itachi was in heaven; he made love to Sakura every week and that was enough for him. Deep inside he wished they could run away together, but he knew Sakura would never abandon his brother.
Sakura, on the other hand, fought a constant battle in her mind. She enjoyed being with Itachi, but the guilt was eating her alive. Every time she slept with him, she would shower at home and would entice Sasuke to have sex with her. That's what she did, she would sleep with both brothers on the same day, to try to ease her guilty conscience.
For six months they lived in a dangerous and forbidden relationship. Itachi was satisfied with the way things were, but Sakura couldn't take it anymore. She loved both, in different ways, but she had to decide which road she would take.
On this day, when Sakura announced she was no longer having an affair with him, he felt like the ground below him was falling apart. Somewhere in his mind he knew this day would come, but he chose not to think about it. He allowed himself to feel and now he was hurt.
"You're right. I shouldn't have played with what was not mine. You're right to end things with me."
"I know. I'm sorry if I hurt you, Itachi. But this is necessary, and you'll get over this soon."
"Sakura… I love you, you don't understand that!"
"I do, Itachi, I do! And I love you too, but Sasuke is my life! I would kill and die for him; I love him so much that it hurts! I know it sounds hypocritical of me to say these things, but it's true. I don't know why I let myself be caught up with you. This has been twisted from the start."
"You know what's funny? I've always been proud of my brother and he's always envied me because of all the praise our father gives me. I've never had any reason to be envious of him… until you showed up. The one thing my brother has that makes envious of him is you. And I can't have you, not like my brother has you. I've had you in my bed but I'll never have you in my home; caring for my children; making me dinner; kissing me goodnight in our bed. You belong to him. His wife. The woman who will bear his children. The woman who cares for him. The woman who proudly walks beside him. And you say you love me!"
"I do! But it's over now. I can't love you the same way I love Sasuke. That's why I have to end this. I'm sorry, Itachi, I didn't mean to hurt you this much. I'm so sorry." She left his ANBU cottage in the woods and went home. Gladly, Sasuke was out of the village on a mission with Naruto and Sai; she would have plenty of time to cry all her angsty, regretful tears in their apartment.
Itachi spent the rest of the week alone in his cottage. He made no contact with anyone and didn't care if no one came to see him. He recomposed himself to go on missions; mistakes because of the pink haired kunoichi in his mind were unacceptable. He asked for more missions outside the village to divert his thoughts from her. The Hokage didn't have so many missions available for him and he found it strange that Itachi was so keen on leaving the village these days.
Four months later Mikoto demanded that he stayed in the house for a family dinner with their guests. The honourable guests were Sasuke and Sakura, the people he less wanted to see.
"We have great news," Sasuke started. "Sakura's two months pregnant!"
Fugaku tried to hide his smile and Mikoto burst into tears, holding Sakura in a suffocating embrace. Itachi feigned a smile, politely congratulating the couple, then made up an excuse to leave.
Minutes later, Sakura went after him. She found him on the porch outside.
"Itachi…"
"Congratulations on your baby. I hope my nephew or niece is a healthy baby."
"Thank you. But I came after you to ask if you're okay."
"I'm not. But I will be."
"I'm sorry. About everything." Sakura turned on her heels and went back inside.
Whenever Itachi saw his brother with his pregnant wife, he tried to put his hurt feelings aside and be happy for them. His heart was still shattered, but he gradually began to mend his bleeding wounds. Much to Sakura's surprise, Itachi was becoming lively again when she came around. He would even put his hand on her belly and ask her about her experience as an expectant mother.
After Sarada's birth, Itachi could no longer see Sakura as a desirable woman for him; she was now a mother, she had her own family.
After one year apart from his lover, Itachi could already live his life in peace, with no heartache. He eventually found a woman he fell in love with and wasted no time in showing her his interest. Her name was Izumi Uchiha; she was a kind and sweet young woman, and, to his father's delight, she was an Uchiha. Itachi finally found peace of mind in Izumi.
Sakura put all that happened between them behind her back and she lived a happy life with Sasuke, the true love of her life, and their daughter, Sarada.
Itachi was happy with his girlfriend. He forgot about all the heartache he suffered because of Sakura and moved on.
They learned, in time, to be what they must have been from the beginning: nothing but relatives.
