Meanwhile, Shadow was right outside of Amy's house, approaching her front door.
"What am I even doing with my life?" thought Shadow "Am I really going to go on a date with Amy while completely painted? I'm the ultimate life form, but am I really this easily manipulated"
Right as Shadow reached the front door, he knocked on it and began to question his decision.
"I can't believe I really just sealed my fate, when I get back I'm gonna…"
Amy opened the door smiling as she thought that Sonic had arrived to meet her.
"Sonic! I'm positively elated that you could make it! I planned so many great things for us to do together! Ooooh, we'll be just like a couple!"
Shadow began crudely impersonating Sonic, "I'm...excited…Abby" said Shadow, cringing
Amy raised an eyebrow, "Ooh, someones a bit wild today. You know as well as I do about what that name means"
"Of course I know what I implied just now, why wouldn't I? After all, I am Sonic The Hedgehog. But…I just wanted to make sure you remembered what that name meant. I'll just continue to call you…Amy? Like normal."
Amy began to pout "Awww, you had my hopes up." She perked up immediately after and continued "At least we still have all those wonderful and romantic activities I planned"
"Right, right. Why don't we get started on them? Being a one-dimensional character whose only trait is speed, I don't like waiting."
"Eeeeeeh! Neither do I!" squealed Amy, "LET'S GET MARRIED!"
Shadow stepped back a few feet and suggested "I think we might need to change my title to 'second fastest hedgehog' if you're serious about that."
"You're right, I got a bit too swept up in the moment" agreed Amy
She told herself "Cool it Amy, you've got this." and she told Shadow "Well, let's get on our way. Our first destination is fishing in Azure Lake!"
"Yay...then lets go…uhh...speedily"
Amy dragged Shadow across the sidewalk until the mismatched couple had arrived at Azure Lake.
"I learned all about fishing from watching our friend Big." enthused Amy "You know, he's a much better fisherman than people give him credit for"
"How interesting…"
"Okay, the first step is to get a fishing rod, we'll need to go to the sporting goods store down the street."
"But we're already at the lake. Why didn't you think of this when you planned out this whole thing?"
"That's some big talk for someone who planned NOTHING for this date" shouted Amy
"Nevermind, forget I said anything. I'll just run there and get a pair of fishing rods"
Shadow dashed away to the city, leaving his orange trail behind him.
"Hey, wait a minute….Sonic's trail is always blue, isn't it?"
As Amy started to think about why the trail was orange, Shadow came back with 2 fishing rods.
"Oh, you're back already. I have a question to ask you"
"Alright, what is it? Being Sonic and all, I can definitely answer any question about myself"
"How come your trail was glowing orange? I know it's supposed to be blue"
"it's because...uh...the flames of...passion burn...inside me?" stammered Shadow
Amy began to tear up. She wiped away a tear and told Shadow "Awwww, Sonic you shouldn't have!"
Shadow rolled his eyes, "I got the rods, what's the next step?"
"Oh, right...we need bait. On second thought, maybe fishing isn't as romantic as I'd imagined"
