Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles entered the building, it appeared to be completely deserted with the lights turned off.

"I need to find Eggman and get something from him, but where would he be?" wondered Sonic.

Shadow suggested "Why don't you check the directory?"

"Oh, that would make it easy"

The trio walked over to the directory to plan out their next steps.
"Alright team, I need Eggman to be sleeping for this next part. Luckily, his bedroom is right near his main control room."
"Why does he need to be sleeping?" questioned Knuckles "What exactly is our objective?"
"He needs to be sleeping so I can get some of his mustache hair"

"Wait...mustache hair? What could you possibly need that for?"

Sonic sighed, "Well...I guess I can't hide the truth any longer. I'm really Sonic, one of Tails' inventions transformed me into a girl because it wasn't well constructed. For some reason, he put Rouge's toothbrush into the machine and that apparently caused this to happen. Now we need to find something that would provide the exact opposite of that, and we came to the conclusion that Eggman's mustache is the only thing that would work."
"That can't be, Sonic is right next to you"

Shadow slipped out the contact lenses revealing his actual red eyes, and he started talking in his normal voice.
"I'm Shadow. You didn't think anything was different about me? The chest fur, the shoes and gloves, the constant glaring, the mysterious atmosphere? That theme song playing?"

"I guess I did hear the line 'All Hail Shadow' quite a bit. Damn, so Tails really turned you into a milk truck?"

"I guess you can put it that way, but now that you know, you need to promise not to tell Amy about this"

"Agreed"

"And you're gonna stop pursuing me to go on a date now that you know who I really am, correct?" continued Sonic

"I never said that. You're still Sonya as far as I'm concerned"

Sonic looked at Knuckles in disappointment.

"...Before we confront Eggman, we have to think of how were going to put him to sleep"
"I can punch him with my fists until we knock him out!"
"How about we limit it to ones that won't cause brain damage?"
"I picked a lot of lavender on my date, we could slip that into his drink" offered Shadow

"Heh, I didn't pin you as the flowery type"
"You're right, but that's how I thought you'd act"

"Oh"

Knuckles stated "For all I care, you can both be flowery, would someone just put the lavender in Eggman's drink!"
Sonic immediately responded with "I'm not doing it"
Shadow echoed Sonic's sentiment.
"Fine, since neither of you are man enough, I'll put it in. Let's get on already, I don't want Sonic here tempting me any more. It's hard enough to do the job without distractions"

Having decided on who would insert the lavender, the trio walked to the room marked 'Eggman control room' in search of Eggman. They snuck through the building until they came up to the doors leading to the control room. Knuckles made a "shhh" sign with his hand before opening the door and motioning the other two to follow him. The trio walked into the room, only to find Dr. Eggman already sleeping on a futon, wearing a wifebeater and a pair of boxer shorts surrounded by chip bags, empty cans, and holding a half eaten sub sandwich. A mix of mayo and mustard seeped out of the sandwich and onto his shirt with each rise and fall of his chest. His snoring was loud enough to create ripples in the glass of soda placed on the table in front of him.

"Well, looks like we won't need the lavender" observed Shadow

"Alright, let's just make sure we don't wake him up"

Sonic grabbed a pair of scissors off a nearby table and she began to tip-toe through the room.

Knuckles cautioned "Are you sure that you uhh...you know...aren't going to make any extra noise"

"No more noise than this whispering"

Shadow and Knuckles began to follow Sonic.

Eggman mumbled in his sleep, "You're all mine….me and my robots will get ya, you pesky hedgehogs…and whatever the rest of you animals are"

"He must be dreaming about winning against us" giggled Sonic "I'm getting away, you Egghead!"

"The only one getting away is…my robots…whoever you are"

Shadow joined in, "You better watch out, I'm destroying all your robots. You're about to lose!"

"You're nothing but pure virtue...just like…newspaper comics"

"Okay I think that's enough of that, let's just finish what we started"

Sonic took the scissors and cut one piece of Eggman's mustache off. After the snip, Eggman briefly got up and started firing a blaster around the room before quickly falling back to sleep.

"I think he's still asleep" commented Shadow

Knuckles headed towards the exit, "Alright, let's get out of here"

The three of them left Eggman to continue his beauty sleep and they exited the building.

Amy was waiting outside, she saw them exit and immediately asked "Did you find Eggman?"

Shadow proudly stated "We absolutely did and we stole half of his mustache"

Knuckles turned around to speak with Sonic, "Now Sonya, it's time for our dat...where is she?"

Sonic was on the other side of the street waiting at a bus stop. The bus arrived and she waved the three of them goodbye while flashing her metro card from before. Knuckles remembered her taking a different path as they were leaving the building, he then looked at the bus in disappointment as Silver and Vector walked over.

Silver explained "Alright Knuckles, we worked out a plan where we all cooperate to steal Sonya's heart. We will each take turns...wait...Sonic, Amy, where's Sonya?"

"She just boarded that bus over there." pointed out Amy

Silver and Vector stared at the bus that drove their love interest away from them.

"I can still catch up, I'm faster than that bus!"
Silver was ready to dash off, but Vector held out his arm, preventing Silver from going further.

"Mission failed, we'll get her next time."

"I just hope we see her again"

"Stay strong king, for we shall see the day when society delivers a woman to love us as much as we do her"

Knuckles offered a gleam of hope, "Don't worry, she might change her mind, she may return"

Shadow told Amy "So I suppose this date went pretty well, I guess I'll be off then"

"Not so fast Sonic," snapped Amy "we're only halfway done with our date today, and it's only 3:00 pm!"

"I believe the spelling of 'date' is not ' E', it doesn't have to take the entire day. What could we possibly do next?"

"Well, first, I wanted to do more shopping, and I was thinking we would have dinner afterwards. Then we could go swimming at the pool in the rec. center."

"Uh oh, you know you're supposed to wait an hour after eating before going swimming, also I can't swim"

Shadow muttered to himself, "I think that's what that blue hedgehog told me."

"That's only a suggestion"

Shadow whispered to himself, "I just hope this paint is waterproof."

Amy dragged Shadow down the sidewalk.
