Ranma and Nabiki arrived on a rooftop of the school. They looked around and saw that everywhere was covered in vines with a mouldy slime-like substance and that buildings were broken, this caused their jaws to drop for a moment before both yelled

"WHAT THE HECK"

Then they noticed dozens of disfigured blobish bug-like creatures walking around.

Nabiki pulled her camera out and took a few pictures before Ranma picked her up and jumped down to the ground, making sure to stay just out of sight of the creatures. The second they landed Ranma activated the umisenken* which cloaked both of them. As Ranma ran he heard slightly muffled voices from a tv in the electronics store they had just passed so turned and stopped in front of it to listen

*ove him more then you do Harold*

*You wish you stupid b***h*

*Morty's mine* both reporter creatures screamed at each other

They turned their attention to another tv where a similar scene was happening, but this broadcast was from England. Nabiki pointed out that another one was broadcasting news from Russia and a fourth Australia. Ranma still holding Nabiki then turned and took off running again, once they were a few miles outside the city they found a cave where he dropped the Umisenken and set her down

"S***, whatever this is it's probably effected the whole world"

"I wonder what caused the world to become like this"

"I don't know but the sooner we get out of here the better. How much time is there before the next slide?"

"Twelve hours"

"Great, so if we stay here. We should be safe"

"Yeah probably, but what can we do to pass the time?"

"Well, I could start tutoring you so you can get better grades when we get back"

"I guess but only if you let me start training you in the art for part of the time, so Nabiki Tendo deal or no deal**.?"

"-groan- you couldn't just say "let's do quid pro quo***," Nabiki asked as Ranma rolled his eyes "Fine deal, you go first"

So Ranma started going over the basics and was surprised that she hadn't forgotten how to do them and so he moved and after nearly six hours Nabiki had surpassed The Golden Pair, Principal Kuno, Hinako and her Father which sadly wasn't that hard of a feat to do. As Ranma pulled some food and drink of his subspace pocket he said

"Great job Nabs," she glared at him "while you haven't been training you haven't forgotten anything. If you work this hard in the future you could surpass Akane maybe even Kuno within a month if not two"

"Really?" he nodded "well as soon as we finish eating, we'll see how well you do, Sao...Ranma"

They ate a couple of sandwiches and downed part of their drinks, then it was Nabiki's turn to be the teacher and she used the same tricks Kasumi had used on her and Akane to teach Ranma.

After nearly six hours his brain hurt and was glad that it was time for the portal to open, Nabiki on the other hand was shocked as Ranma had absorbed what she had taught it was much like when he learns a new technique.

They exited the cave before Ranma pointed the device to open the portal, Nabiki grabbed her bag and ran in with Ranma right behind her, when it opened again. They landed in a park

"How long do we have here?"

"We have almost two days here," he said

They walked out of the park on to a street he picked up a newspaper saying Kahoku Shimpō**** and showed it to Nabiki she looked at Ranma

"Saotome, How the hell are we in Sendai?" He facepalmed

"Shit, I forgot that fact about the timer."

"Forgot What about the timer?"

"It has a radius of 400 miles" she turned to him in shock

"So, does that mean we could end up in America or somewhere besides Japan?"

"No, at least I don't think so. I think that the timer has a locked location to prevent that from happening. Although knowing my luck, it might be possible and we're here for 35 more hours" he said before slipping the timer into his subspace pocket as they entered a nearby hotel and approached the front desk

*Good Afternoon may I help you* The clerk asked

*We'll need a room with two beds for the night* Ranma replied

*Of course, sir your names*

*It's $51 a night you are in Room 306 here's your key and the elevators are behind you*

Ranma thanked the woman took the key and headed to the elevator with Nabiki and they went up to their room. Once they were in there, Nabiki turned to Ranma

"Since when do you know English, Saotome?"

"I knew a little from the training trip but learned more from Doc then once he left, I asked Miss H to tutor me after school"

"Really?"

"That's why every other day I was late. The one time I decided to tell everyone the reason why I was late, Akane said I was lying then P-chan bit me followed by her hitting me with that damn mallet sending me to Jubban"

"Ah I actually remember that night but moving on, I think we should figure out why most of the people are speaking English instead of Japanese"

"Maybe it has something to do with this," he said handing her the hotel stationery

A few hours passed and Nabiki returned to the room and saw a bunch of food "Saotome?" she asked as he walked out of the bathroom and greeted her with a "hey" she pointed at the food "how?"

"I went for a walk and came across a couple of guys trying to rape a girl so I stopped them, picked their pockets, then got thot before stopping and getting some paper plates and drinks at the dollar store"

"Oh" Nabiki then took a plate and filled it with chicken, wedges, coleslaw and gravy from Mary Browns they went and sat down on the couch, before telling Ranma that after World War Two the United States annexed Japan making it the forty-ninth state and that is why the money is a mix of dollar and yen, as well as that it was the reason more people speak English here than in their Japan

"Want to check out what's on TV?"

"Sure, Nabs" she just glared at him while turning it on

"WCW Nitro the longest-running week ..." both of them laughed "I guess they won the Monday Night Wars here" Ranma said

"Hello, I'm the Nostalgia Critic. I remember it..." Nabiki said "huh, he's a tv star here"

"Bear hug and a smile, " Nabiki said "interesting a live acti..." just before Ranma started laughing "What?"

"Pops is playing Panda" Ranma replied

(3 Quid pro quo = a Latin phrase meaning "Something for something"

(4) Kahoku Shimpō = a newspaper published in Sendai Japan

(4b) Newspaper = a daily publication consisting of folded paper containing the local & world news (how we got the news before the internet online newspapers & something your parents might remember from when they were kids)

(5) Anytime they get a hotel & not in Nermia they'll use fake names. This time the names there using are = Yūichirō (seraph of the end) & Seras (Hellsing).
