Somewhere in New York :/

"I'll see ya later!" The girl yelled, waving goodbye to her friends. She called an uber and waited at the curb. She was anxious to get home. After all, she had seen that blonde FBI agent lady on tv, and she didn't want to be alone too long. However, she wasn't too worried. But suddenly, she was yanked off the street.

"Let me-mmph!" The stranger muffled her cries of help and dragged her through an alley.

"Jesus, Merissa. You're escalating. Why so many girls lately?" A dark figure asked. He was smoking

"Shut the fuck up, Adam, and get on with it." Merissa replied. She pushed the girl towards the man.

"Dang, fine…" Adam replied, and tossed the cigarette away.

"Who are you?! Let me go!" The girl yelled.

"Yes, let's make introductions first. I'm Adam and this is-"

"UGH!" Merissa yelled out in frustration and took the girl from the man. He looked startled. Then, a gunshot rang in the air followed by the swish of a knife, and the girl dropped dead.

"This unsub is killing way faster. Two kills in two days," Morgan said, looking at the dead girl. Her black hair was sprawled messily on the ground. She looked almost identical to the previous victims.

"I'm going to have another press conference. Gonna warn young East Asian girls especially." JJ replied grimly, and left the scene.

"Rossi, you said an 'Adam Gomez?'" Reid asked curiously. He was pretty suspicious about the private phone call Serena had with the older man yesterday. Rossi nodded.

"She said…" He looked at the dead teenager sadly, and paused. "She said that was all she knew." He finished, lying. Reid and Morgan gave him a look, but didn't question him.

"Garcia got nothin' on this Adam Gomez yesterday, but I'll see if she has anything good now." Morgan said, and whipped out his phone. "Hey, Baby Girl, tell me you got somethin' good."

"Oh, this Adam Gomez was a naughty boy." Garcia replied.

"How so?" Morgan asked, smiling. They finally had a lead.

"Well, as you know, there are plenty of Adam Gomezes in New York, but one stands out in particular. He was in and out of juvie. Has multiple arrests for soliciting prostitutes, rape, and assault. Runs a gang. He is bad news, I tell ya. I'm sending you the address." Garcia reported.

"Thanks, mama, this helps a lot. Also do me a favor. Look up the words beautiful and sexy and see what you come up with."

"Aww…" Garcia gushed. "It's me...and you..."

"You are a goddess," Morgan replied grinning. "Ciao."

Rossi looked up as Morgan returned. "She got something?"

"Yup. Born in Chicago, lives in New York. She's sending an address as we speak." Morgan said. Rossi nodded, and went to report to Hotch.

Hotch was always observant. He noticed things others didn't. And he had realized something about the victims. No, not just their racial similarity, but how they looked similar to a victim years ago. Serena. Rossi approached him.

"Garcia's got something on the Adam Gomez Serena gave us." The Italian man said. Hotch bit his lip. Another mention of Serena.

"What's wrong, Hotch? We've got a suspect. Isnt' that good?" Rossi inquired.

"Look, Dave. Haven't you noticed the pattern of victims? Other than their ethnicity, I mean." Hotch pressed. Rossi looked thoughtful.

"I know what you're thinking, but I think it's just a coincidence."

"You weren't straight in front of her. You didn't see her eyes. She-I-I was scared, Dave. Scared." Hotch replied. Rossi looked at Hotch. Of all the years he had known him, perhaps other than when Haley died, he had never heard such emotion from the uptight man's voice. "How could she even know this Adam Gomez? I mean unless he's the one-"

"Aaron, don't worry. I'll give it some thought." Rossi promised, putting his hand on Hotch's shoulder. Hotch sighed. "But for now, let's go catch this Adam Gomez."

"Adam Gomez, FBI! Open up!" Morgan yelled, banging on the door. No response. Morgan sighed, and stepped back. Then he thrust his leg forward and kicked the door open. Everyone filed in, guns drawn. Soon shouts of "Clear!" filled the apartment.

"Hotch, this place is really clean. Not what you'd expect from a gang leader." Morgan siad.

"It seems like nobody's been living here for a while." Prentiss remarked, examining the neatly made bed.

"Seems like he left a long time ago." Reid added. Morgan looked at his phone.

"Garcia just texted me. She can't find any water or electrical bills for this place. Gomez is long gone." Reid got a call from Serena, and stepped out of the room.

"Hey, Serena."

"Hey. So, did you catch Adam Gomez?" Serena asked. She had been stressed all day.

"Unfortunately no. He's in the wind. We're hoping Garcia can track him if he uses his credit card or phone." Reid answered. Serena didn't reply. "Serena? Are you all right?" The doctor asked anxiously.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine, Reid." Serena assured him, but he wasn't convinced.

"What's up with you, anyways? Like, you suddenly run off, and then you decide to just stay put? The Serena I know wouldn't want to stay home. She'd want to come out to the field straight away." Reid argued.

"'The Serena I know?' Come on, Reid, you've only known me for like a month!" She scoffed, leaving Reid speechless. "Seriously, I told you why I didn't come. My car stopped. Besides, you guys have it under control there."

"No, we don't. This Adam Gomez guy is nowhere to be seen, and you know New York better than any of us. Besides, how'd you know this Adam anyways? He doesn't seem like a guy you would know."

"Reid, seriously please stop acting like we've been friends for a long time. There's a lot you don't know about me."

"Then tell me! How do you know Adam Gomez?" Reid almost yelled at his phone.

"I met him. Before I joined the BAU. It was nothing. I just thought he fit your profile."

"Wait a minute. You haven't even heard our profile. Heck, we haven't even had time to put together a complete profile yet."

"Then profile Adam Gomez. He's definitely your guy." Serena said flatly, and hung up. Reid lowered his phone, staring at it confusingly. Something was definitely going on with Serena.

Pittsburgh

Serena sighed, and put down the phone. She hadn't meant to cut off Reid like that, but she was getting more and more anxious. If Adam had already left his apartment, that meant he was always with Merissa. And the two of them together...that would be unstoppable. She really wanted to tell the team about Merissa. She really did! But in a sense...they already knew her. At least, some of them did. Law enforcement referred to her as...Lady X.

She had evaded law enforcement for at least 20 years. Prowling, preying on men and women of the streets all over the country. Serena had first hand experience with Lady X. She saw what she was truly capable of. Just how easily she could kill, with the blink of an eye. No remorse. No empathy. Nothing. How the hell did Alastair live with knowing he was related to one of the most prolific serial killers ever?

Don't lie, Serena. You know what happens if you lie. Her voice came back.

"Dammit, get out of my head!" Serena yelled, throwing down a book. Nala whined. Serena gave the dog a pitiful look, and walked out the door. She was done hiding. If Merissa wanted to catch her, she'd be waiting.

Author's note: I'm not gonna make Serena the love interest for Reid. If that's what you were hoping for...sorry. There's just WAY TOO MANY fanfictions about Reid and a girl. I wanted to do something different :/ Besides, I love Reid with Maeve and Max. But yeah, thank you so much for reading! And please leave a review if you have time :D
