Kim Possible: The Sitch Of College: Shorts
Chapter 3: One Heck Of A First Play
AN: Thanks to Sabre for his edits. I used a football play from his story as a reference so special thanks to him for that too. Merry Christmas.
It was Friday night, September 6th in California and Kim and Ron were walking, hand-in-hand toward the stadium at Starlight University for their first game. For their first game they were going to be playing against the Wild Tigers of Big River University from San Francisco.
"Well, KP, this is it," Ron said, nervously.
Kim noticed Ron's nervousness, "What's wrong?"
Ron shook his head, "Nothing's wrong."
Kim gave a serious look, "When someone says there's nothing wring, that's when you know something's wrong."
Ron sighed before he and Kim stopped walking.
"Okay, you got me, KP," Ron said. "I'm nervous about blowing this game."
"Ron, you're not going to blow this," Kim assured. "If you do, I won't hold anything against you. Our friends won't hold anything against you either."
"I know you and our friends wouldn't hold anything against me," Ron said. "But what about everyone else?"
"Those who do hold anything against you are a bunch of idiots," Kim said. "Now, let's get to the stadium."
She then smiled, got up on her tiptoes and gave Ron a kiss on the lips.
As soon as she pulled away, Kim cooed, "After the game is over, regardless of the victor, I'll make it worth your while."
Ron took Kim into his arms and spun her around, earning a happy squeal from her.
"And I am game," Ron cooed. "But only if you are."
"I'm always game, Ronnie," Kim cooed.
Ron then pulled Kim in for a kiss, which she happily returned.
Later, Ron and all of his football teammates were in the boys locker room getting ready for their first game. They were all getting dressed in their yellow and red football uniforms.
Ron opened his locker and took his wedding ring off his finger.
He looked at it and thought, "I'd love to wear this during the game, but I don't wanna lose it."
He then set his wedding ring in his locker before closing the locker's door.
"Hey, Ron," A voice snapped Ron out of his thoughts.
Ron turned to see Doug dressed in his football uniform.
"You ready to make history tonight?" Doug asked with a smile.
Ron chuckled nervously, "Ready as I'll ever be."
"Hey, Ron, it's ok, we're all nervous about tonight's game," Doug assured Ron.
"Yeah, I know," Ron said. "I just hope I don't embarrass myself in front of Kim. Or all of those other people watching the game."
"Yep," Rufus chirped from Ron's pocket.
"Hey, relax, Ron, I feel the same way," Doug assured. "I mean, this is the first time I'm playing football for my new girlfriend."
"Yeah, I still can't believe you and Crystal are dating," Ron speculated.
"Yeah, I can't believe it either," Doug said. "And now I have to get through this game without embarrassing myself in front of Crystal, so you're not the only one whose extremely nervous."
"Hey, both of you guys settle down," A new voice joined in.
It was Doug's brother, Leonard, and beside him was Jack's brother, Reggie.
"We both know how both of you are feeling," Leonard said. "I'm nervous about playing football for the first time in front of Jessica too."
"Yeah," Reggie added. He then chuckled. "And I bet my sweet little brother, Jack is sweating buckets waiting for his girlfriend to see him in the marching band. Same with Ken and his girlfriend."
Leonard ignored Reggie and continued, "But all we can do is play our best. Even if we don't win, we can still say we tried our best out there."
"Yeah, guys, don't worry about a thing," Reggie assured. "Just as long as both of you guys don't lose your cool, we'll do alright."
"Ok, your right, thanks, guys," Ron said with a sigh. "And Reggie, thanks for not making a pants joke, this time."
Reggie chuckled, "No problem, man."
He then grabbed Ron and gave him a noogie.
"Woah, ok, Reggie, stop it," Ron sputtered.
"Ok, Reggie, you made your point," Leonard said, putting a hand on Reggie's shoulder.
"Alright, just having some fun," Reggie said as he backed off.
"Yeah, maybe a little too much fun," Ron commented.
"Yeah, humph," Rufus agreed.
Kim and the rest of the cheer squad were in the girls locker room, getting ready to cheer in the first game. They were wearing their yellow and red cheer outfits.
Kim opened her locker and took her wedding and engagement rings off her fingers and held them in her hand.
"I wish I could wear these, but I don't wanna lose them," Kim thought as she tool one last look at them.
She then smiled and put them in her locker.
"Hey, Kim," Sophie's voice came.
Kim looked to see Sophie standing behind her.
"Oh, hey, Sophie," Kim greeted as she closed her locker.
"So, are you looking forward to cheering in the first game of college tonight?" Sophie asked excitedly.
"I sure am," Kim replied with a smile.
"We all are," Tara's voice came.
Kim and Sophie saw the rest of the girls, minus Marcella, Liz and Giselle gathered together in the locker room.
"And I bet Ron's looking forward to seeing you cheer too," Tara said to Kim with a giggle.
Kim giggled too, "I bet he is."
"And I bet Doug is looking forward to seeing me cheer in the game," Crystal chimed in.
"He certainly must be," Emma said with a chuckle.
"I'll bet," Alexa added.
Crystal then thought of something and asked Kim, "Hey, Kim, remember that one game we had in High School where Ron ran out onto the field and you blew him a kiss while on top of the pyramid?"
"Yep, I'll remember that," Kim said with a chuckle. "Maybe, I'll do more than just blow him a kiss during this game."
"I bet Ron will love that," Hope speculated.
The girls chuckled.
Kim nodded, "Yeah, and hopefully, during this game we won't be called in to stop a super villain like I was."
The rest of the former Middleton girls cringed.
"Yep, I remember that," Jessica said.
"What? What happened?" Sophie inquired.
"Well, basically the mission that triggered the Lorwardian Invasion," Kim answered. "I was called in during the game to stop Drew and the 'green woman' he had teamed up with who turned out not to be Shea. I stopped both of them with the help of Ron, the Tweebs and surprisingly, Shea. But let's just say that said race of aliens don't take humiliating defeats very well as much as all my other foes do."
"Wow, they must have been sensitive aliens," Christine commented.
"I was also a little embarrassed that I had to leave in the middle of the game," Kim groaned.
"Kim," Tara spoke. "You know that we all accepted your apology for leaving in the middle of the game."
"Well, minus, B- I mean, you know who, anyway," Hope added, not wanting to mention Bonnie's name.
"Who's, you-know-who?" Sophie asked.
"Bonnie," Hope replied. "But we agreed to never mention her name again."
"Anyway," Jessica chimed in. Yeah, we might have been a little agitated. But not at you."
"Yeah, and I guess it was a good thing I waited till Bonnie wasn't around to apologize to you all," Kim said with a nervous chuckle.
"Did you-know-who really have that much of an influence on you?" Christine asked Tara.
"Sadly, yes," Tara groaned.
"But towards the end of Senior Year, when she started ditching practice to hang out with her hot new boyfriend," Hope chimed in. "We actually started having fun with Kim a little more."
Kim smiled at that.
"And we'd also congratulate Ron on winning football games for MHS," Crystal added. "It was our way of apologizing for thinking his mad dog routine was stupid."
"Well, that's good to hear," Sophie spoke with a smile.
Jessica then chimed in, "And of course, Tara and Hope told about how we have had enough of, you-know-who, and how they stood up to her and what that led to."
Everyone groaned at that.
"Yeah, I hope we never have to see that psychopath again," Crystal groaned. "I'm still shaken by what she did to us a few days ago."
"You and me both," Jessica added.
"Hey, where are Liz and Marcella?" Kim asked.
"Liz and Marcella decided to go see Jack and Ken really quick," Sophie answered. "They'll be right back. As for Giselle, well, I don't know where she is."
Liz and Marcella were walking behind the bleachers to the area where the marching band was. They were looking for their respective boyfriends, Jack and Ken.
They soon spotted two familiar young men carrying large instruments. One with a sousaphone/tuba and one with a bass drum.
"There they are!" Marcella said, pointing to them.
Jack was looking nervous as he was talking to Ken.
"I just hope I can do well in this band," Jack spoke, nervously. "Especially in front of Liz."
"Take it easy, Jack," Ken assured. "You're a master at tuba as well as bass. You'll do fine."
"Hey, Ken," A familiar voice came.
"Hey, Jack," Another familiar voice added.
To Jack and Ken's surprise they looked to see Liz and Marcella walking toward them.
"Oh, hey, Marcella," Ken said, surprised to see his girlfriend.
"Hey, Liz. What are you guys doing back here?" Jack asked, nervously. "Not that I'm complaining."
"Oh, we just thought we'd come by and wish you luck," Marcella answered.
"Yep," Liz added.
Jack and Ken smiled.
"Why thank you," Ken said. "It's not always easy, sitting in the bleachers all night playing for the football team."
"But playing our favorite instruments is always fun," Jack added.
"I think you'll do great," Liz said as she leaned in and kissed Jack on the cheek.
Jack blushed.
"Isn't this sweet?" A voice appeared.
Marcella, Liz, Ken and Jack turned to see Giselle smirking.
"What is it, Giselle?" Marcella demanded.
"Oh, I just wanted to make sure you girls are ready for the game and not wasting time flirting with your band geeks of boyfriends," Giselle said.
"Hey, they're not geeks!" Liz shouted.
"Not right now, Liz," Marcella said, putting a hand on Liz's shoulder. "Let's just go get ready for the game."
Liz sighed, "Alright."
The two girls turned to their boyfriends.
"We'll see you guys later," Marcella said as she and Liz walked away with Giselle.
Ken and Jack waved goodbye.
"See you later too," Ken said.
Later, up in the press box overlooking the stadium, Don Nantz and Jim Jones, begin broadcasting the game.
"Hello, everyone," Don announced. "This is Don Nantz and Jim Jones bringing you live, Phoenixes football for the very first time of the new school year. For their first game, the Starlight University Phoenixes will be playing against the Big River University Wild Tigers from San Francisco."
Jim then chimed in, "It's a beautiful night here in Burbank and tonight should be an interesting game for the first one."
"And here's why," Don spoke up. "Starlight University recently got two new additions to the football team."
"One of them is Ron Stoppable," Jim continued. "The legendary running back of the Middleton Mad Dogs."
"The other one is our very own, Doug Fielder, who recently graduated Burbank High School," Don added.
"Both of them have made the starting lineup and I'm sure everyone is excited to see how they perform here in this game," Jim spoke.
"I bet they are, Jim," Don responded. "And here come the Starlight University cheerleaders. Led by our very own Sophie Rhodes."
As if on cue, the Starlight University cheerleaders ran out onto the field.
"Among them is none other than the lovely wife of Ron Stoppable, the world famous Kim Possible-Stoppable," Jim continued.
"Joining Kim, of course are the rest of the members of her old high school cheer squad," Don added. "Looks like a pretty big group don't you think so, Jim?"
"Definitely," Jim agreed. He soon noticed the football players running out onto the field. "And here come the Starlight University phoenixes themselves."
Don and Jim soon noticed Kim remove one of her palm-palms and blow Ron a kiss.
"It looks like Kim just blew her husband a kiss," Don speculated.
"It certainly does Don," Jim agreed. "Looks like Kim's encouragement should help Ron very much in this game."
Don then noticed a naked mole-rat at the Gatorade bubbler on the Starlight University sidelines.
"Jim, is that a naked mole-rat?" Don asked.
"It is," Jim replied. "That's Ron Stoppable's pet naked mole-rat, Rufus. Coach Smith didn't want Rufus hanging around in Ron's pocket during football practices and games and found a place for him on the team. Rufus now serves Gatorade to the team."
"That's funny," Don commented. "I've never seen a naked mole-rat serve Gatorade before."
The cheerleaders, Kim, Tara, Hope, Sophie, Christine, Emma, Alexa and Giselle as well as Marcella, Liz, Crystal, Jessica, quickly took their positions and started cheering.
"P-H-O-E-N-I-X-E-S! Go Phoenixes!" The cheerleaders cheered as they waved their pom poms in the air.
The football players soon made their way out onto the field.
Kim soon saw Ron among them just as Tara nudged her.
"Well, Kim, go ahead, do it," Tara encouraged.
"Ok," Kim chuckled before she put one of her pom poms in her other hand.
She then blew Ron a kiss. Ron noticed this and smiled at his wife.
In the bleachers near the field Monique, Felix, Zita, Josh, Marty and Ben witnessed Kim blow her husband a kiss.
"Did Kim just blow Ron a kiss?" Monique asked.
"It sure looked like it," Felix confirmed.
"This should be interesting," Ben speculated.
"Yes, it should be," Marty said as he kept his eyes on Hope.
Josh, of course, had his eyes on Tara and Ben couldn't take his eyes off of Sophie.
The marching band was in another part of the bleachers playing music for the game. Jack and Ken, of course, were among them.
Soon, the band noticed Kim blow Ron a kiss.
Jack and Ken smiled at this. They also had their eyes on Liz and Marcella out on the field.
The other cheerleaders, minus Giselle, smiled at what Kim did.
"Way to go, Kim!" Sophie congratulated Kim.
"That should encourage him a lot," Hope added.
"Oh, please," Giselle said. "You really think a kiss is gonna help Kim's dorky husband win the game? He doesn't stand a chance against the Wild Tigers."
"Trust me, Giselle," Kim scowled. "Ron is gonna win this for us. Just watch."
Giselle scoffed, "Yeah, right."
The football players soon took their positions. Since Starlight won the coin toss, they chose to receive.
The kick was made and the ball flew high into the air.
Ron held out his arms as the ball fell right into them. After catching the ball, Ron started his run. But just as he reached the 50-yard-line, he was tackled to the ground.
After getting back up, Ron and the rest of the football players huddled up.
"Ok," Leonard spoke. "It's time to send these Wild Tigers back to the cave where they belong. Fake to Reggie, pass to Doug. Ron will follow behind."
Everyone nodded and took their positions.
Leonard made the call and the game began. The center player snapped the ball into Leonard's hands. Leonard stepped back and faked the ball to Reggie before passing it to Doug. Doug started running to the end zone, but a large group of Big River players was closing in on him. Doug soon saw Ron running next to him, holding out his hands. Doug understood what Ron was doing and passed the ball to him. Ron, despite having to dodge other Big River players that were coming towards him, soon made it to the end zone, bringing the score up to 6-0 with Starlight on top.
"Booyah," Ron said, triumphantly.
Soon after, the extra point was made, bringing the score up to 7-0.
"Yeah, not bad for Ron-man's first play!" Felix commented.
"Whoo-hoo!" Monique and Zita cheered.
Josh, Marty and Ben simply clapped their hands.
"Doug's doing pretty good out there too," Ben commented.
"He certainly is," Marty agreed.
The cheerleaders were happy that Ron made the first play, especially Kim. Giselle's jaw dropped as she saw that.
Kim turned to Giselle and smirked, "You want to take back what you said?"
Giselle simply huffed, crossed her arms, and turned away from Kim.
Kim looked on to see her husband with a big smile on his face.
"That's my, Ron," Kim mouthed.
Later, it was getting close to the end of the game as both teams were tied, 40-40.
"Well, Jim, it has finally come down to this," Don announced.
"Both teams have been playing intensely for the first game," Jim added.
"You're right about that," Don agreed. "With the game tied, this will be one nail biter."
"Without a doubt," Jim agreed.
The Starlight team was huddled up again discussing their last play.
"Alright, everyone," Leonard spoke. "The game is tied. But we are going to end it with us on top."
"Yeah! Let's do it," Reggie said with enthusiasm. "The Wild Tigers are about to learn we're a force to be reckoned with."
"Yeah!" Ron added.
"So what's our next move?" Doug asked.
"Hand off to Doug, pass it to Ron," Leonard replied.
"Um, not that I'm complaining, but are you really sure you want to leave the fate of the game in my hands?" Ron asked nervously.
"Of course, Ron," Leonard replied with a smile. "You've done pretty well in this game so far. You deserve a shot at this."
"What he said," Reggie agreed.
"Yeah, Ron, you've got this," Doug spoke. "And I'm totally sure Kim would be happy if you won the game for us."
Ron thought about it for a second and then decided.
"Ok," He said.
"Alright, guys. Are you ready to do this?" Leonard asked everyone.
Everyone nodded.
"Alright. Break," Leonard said before the team broke their huddle.
As soon as Leonard made the call, the final play commenced.
The center player slapped the ball into Leonard's hands before he handed the ball to Doug who passed it to Ron before the latter made his run.
From the sidelines, the cheerleaders saw the play.
"Hey, look, Kim," Tara spoke. "Ron's got the ball and he's heading to the end zone."
"I know, I see that," Kim said as she watched with anticipation.
She hoped Ron would win, but no matter the outcome, she knew she would be proud of him.
As Ron ran for the end zone, four Big River players tried to tackle Ron. And Ron, as luck would have it, managed to dodge all four of them. He soon made it to the end zone.
The score went up to 46-40. The Phoenixes have won!
At the sight of this, the crowd cheered.
"And he did it!" Don announced as soon as Ron made the touchdown. "Starlight University's new addition, Ron Stoppable has won the game for his school!"
"I can't believe my own eyes, Don!" Jim said in excitement. "The crowd is going wild and their on their feet!"
The cheerleaders saw Ron's touchdown and cheered at the sight of it. Kim was extremely happy that her husband made the final touchdown.
"He did it!" Sophie said happily.
"Kim, did you see? Ron rocked it!" Tara said happily.
"Incredible!" Hope added in excitement.
"I know, that was incredible!" Kim said weeping with happiness.
Giselle just looked on with a scowl.
Kim soon thought of something, dropped her palm plams, and ran off toward Ron.
"Just what do you think your doing?" Giselle asked in an annoyed tone.
But her question was ignored.
After making the touchdown, Ron was breathing heavily and with a big smile on his face.
"I did it! We won!" He thought happily.
Ron held the ball high above his head.
"Booyah!" He shouted.
He soon noticed the other players run up to him and congratulated him, tossing him in the air and bringing him back down.
"Way to go, Man!" Leonard said, patting Ron on the back.
"That was awesome!" Reggie added.
"You did really great!" Doug spoke.
"Congratulations, Stoppable," Coach Smith said with a smile. "I must say you did pretty well for your first game."
"Thanks a lot, Coach," Ron responded with a smile. "And a booyah!"
Coach Smith turned to Doug.
"You did pretty well for your first game too, Fielder," Coach Smith said.
"Thanks, Coach," Doug said with a smile.
Just then, Ron soon noticed Kim running up to him really fast with a big smile on her face. She jumped onto him and tackled him to the ground.
"Woah!" Ron exclaimed as Kim pinned him to the ground.
"Congratulations, Mr. Running Back!" Kim said with a smile. "I knew you could do it!"
Ron smiled at his wife.
"Thanks, Ki-" before Ron could finish, Kim cut him off by planting a passionate kiss right on his lips.
The rest of the football team watched this and chuckled.
Don and Jim soon noticed this action from the couple.
"Don, is it me or did Kim just tackle Ron to the ground and kiss him in front of a big crowd?" Jim asked.
"Looks like it, Jim," Don replied. "This might be one heck of play for the first game."
"I hear that," Jim replied. "This is probably the first time in history a cheerleader tackled a college football player that won his team a game."
"I wonder if Kim pulled a similar play in High School?" Don asked.
"I don't know, but we'll probably be expecting more of these plays," Was all Jim said.
Monique, Zita, Felix, Marty, Ben and Josh watched as this happened.
"Do you think they're overdoing the PDA a bit?" Monique speculated.
"Nah, just let them have this, they deserve it," Felix spoke.
"They earned it," Marty added.
The marching band watched interestingly as this happened.
"Wow," Jack commented.
"I've seen anyone do that before," Ken said, amazed.
"Me neither," Jack said.
Ken then noticed that Jack's pants are a little wet, "Dude...?"
"That last play made me wet my pants," Jack whispered.
The cheerleaders, minus Giselle, watched fondly at Kim and Ron's PDA.
"Gross," Giselle said with a disgusted look. "They shouldn't be doing that."
Giselle tried to move forward to stop them, but Sophie put a hand on her shoulder and gave her an icy look.
"Don't even try it," Sophie said in a serious tone.
Giselle just growled and backed off.
Kim and Ron eventually stopped kissing and looked at each other with love in their eyes.
"One heck of a first game, huh?" Ron said.
"Yep," Kim agreed.
"Booyah!" Ron whispered.
