Note: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF CRIMINAL MINDS CHARACTERS! Enjoy :)
Morgan's POV
I pressed my back up against the SUV, listening as bullets shot out from the other side. I gave a worried glance at Rossi. He was hurt pretty bad. Prentiss was attempting a few shots from behind the SUV door. Suddenly, my phone rang. It was Garcia.
"Yeah, Baby Girl?"
"Why didn't Rossi answer me?" She asked anxiously.
"BANG!" All the Sir X's had fixated their focus on my SUV, and their bullets all colided with each other on the window.
"Morgan! What's going on?!"
"We're caught in a shootout. That Brandon McCarthy son of a bitch set us up!" I had to yell in order to be heard.
"O-oh! I-"
"Garcia, calm down. We're all fine."
"Okay! I- what do I do?!"
"Stay focussed. Keep catching all those Sir X's on the employee list! And tell Hotch to NOT come!" I shouted, thinking of my sound sensitive boss.
"Okay, okay. Stay safe. Please."
"We will."
Just as I hung up, I watched as a Sir X neaked up behind the SUV and crept up behind Rossi.
"Rossi!" I yelled, but the bullets drowned out my voice.
The knife went in.
Third Person POV
Hotch walked in the station. After insisting to the doctor that he was fine and he wouldn't go to loud sounds, the doctor let him go. He was immediately approached by one of the detectives.
"Agent Hotchner. Your team, some SWAT agents, and my men are caught in a shootout. Your Penelope Garcia from Quantico is on Line 3."
"Garcia," Hotch said, picking up the phone.
"Sir." She responded grimly. "I called Morgan. He said they were fine, sir."
"I should go out to help-"
"Sir, no!" Garcia exclaimed desperately. "You can't! Morgan told me to keep you from going there!"
"Fine. How can we get them out of it?"
"I think they're setting up more snipers."
"Let's hope they work."
Schroeder's Corp. entrance
"Reid!" Morgan yelled, but the doctor was facing the other direction. "REID!"
Spencer turned around, his hair hung messily around his face. He had a deep cut on his cheek, probably caused by diving head first into the gravel.
"Rossi's hurt!" Morgan shouted.
"Is he okay?!" Reid shouted back
"A Sir X stabbed him. We need to get him to safe ground!"
Without hesitation, Reid scrambled to his feet and ran over to Rossi. Morgan was about to argue. Having Reid go out in the open wasn't exactly what he had in mind. But realized there was no time. Reid grabbed a hold of Rossi and began moving him behind the SUV. Another Sir X, a different one this time, came up behind them. Before he could move in with the knife, Morgan shot him. Reid gave him a grateful glance, and got Rossi to safety.
"Where's Emily and JJ?" Reid asked.
"I know I saw Emily over there behind the other SUV but I guess she went somewhere else." Morgan said.
"She...went with...Detective…" Rossi said, his voice raspy.
"Shh, Rossi, don't speak. You're losing a lot of blood." Reid replied, putting pressure on the wound.
"We need medics!" Morgan said, looking around.
"No medic is gonna willingly walk into this." Reid remained focused on Rossi.
More bullets pinged on the SUV as Morgan took off his jacket to bind up Rossi's wound. They were soon joined by Prentiss.
"Oh my god, Rossi…" She said as she came close.
"I'll be fine." He assured her, but the whole group really wondered if he would be.
"Where's JJ?" Reid asked.
"I don't know. I saw one of the Sir X's with a bloody knife, coming from Rossi's direction so...dammit, I split up from her!"
"It's okay. We'll find her." Reid said.
"How many do you think we have?" Morgan peered out from behind the SUV.
"I'd say about 15. I injured two." Emily responded.
"I killed the one with the knife." Morgan pointed to the motionless body where Rossi and Reid were moments before.
"And even if we somehow shoot down all of these Sir X's, we'll miss Merissa. Again." Reid said miserably. Ever since Merissa's escape at Berkely Hospital, he felt obligated to hunt her down.
"We'll get her."
"This is wrong." Rossi muttered.
"What do you mean?" Prentiss asked.
"It feels like back in the Marines. I know those Sir X's are bad. But we shouldn't…" He struggled for the word. "Kill." He finished.
"I know, Rossi, my man, but how else are we supposed to walk out of this alive?" Morgan said.
"I know."
Then they heard the sounds of bodies collapsing on the ground. Prentiss peered behind the SUV and gasped.
"Hell... Those snipers. They're not waiting for our call!"
"What?!" Morgan stuck his head out. "Damn."
"Tell them to stop!" Rossi protested.
"Rossi, you need to lie down!" Reid exclaimed.
"I'll try to get them to stop." Prentiss said, and ran off. They could see her waving her hands and yelling "STOP!" to the snipers. They ignored her. In a few minutes, the bullets stopped. Morgan, Prentiss, and Reid (who was supporting Rossi) all stepped tentatively stepped out behind the SUV. Medics arrived on the scene to take care of the bodies and Rossi got treated. Morgan was silent for a minute, then exploded.
"WHAT THE WAS THAT, CHIEF?!" He yelled at Chief Wilson.
"What would you want me to do? Ask them politely to stop?!" The chief too was now angry.
"Morgan." Reid said, trying to pull him away.
"That's not what I'm sayin'. But you could have waited. You could have NOT murdered 15 people."
"They were bad guys, agent. Let it go."
"Morgan."
"Then the press is your problem." Morgan pointed an accusing finger.
"Fine." Wilson replied.
"Morgan!"
"What, kid?"
"Come, please."
Reid led Morgan over to one of the body bags. He lifted the tarp, and Morgan gasped.
"He-"
"I had Garcia check. Richard Morris. He's 14."
"14-?"
"Yeah."
"I feel like I've seen him."
"You probably have. He's from Chicago. Garcia said he spent a lot of time at the youth center that you were at."
"My god."
"I just thought you should know."
"Thanks, kid."
Hotch sat alone in the conference room, staring at the board of bloody crime scenes. Garcia had started the list of Schroder's employees, but there were hundreds of names to sift through. He decided to wait for Reid to get back and do them. They still hadn't been able to track Merissa Langstone, Adam Gomez, or Brandon McCarthy. Hotch shook his head. This was a mess.
Suddenly, the team trooped in. Morgan and Rossi were missing though. Reid had a cut, and JJ's arm was bruised.
"Where's Morgan and Rossi?" Hotch asked frantically.
"Relax. Rossi got stabbed and Morgan went to talk to a uh, family." Prentiss replied.
"Rossi got what?!" Hotch exclaimed.
"Doctors say he's going to be fine." Reid said.
"And what about Morgan? What family?"
"The Sir X's, don't really have a tough criteria to get in. One of them was 14." Reid answered. This got the entire team quiet.
Then outside, a man entered the station. It was Adam Gomez. The team rushed out and drew their guns.
"Hey, hey, officers, relax. Wouldn't want to shoot a little girl, would ya?"
And behind him, was Abigail Roberts.
Author's note: I'm so sorry for not updating. I've been really busy, and I'm writing a novel so I'll probably spend a little more time on that. I'm also doing some art stuff for the Holidays, and doing art commissions. It's a kinda hectic season. Sorry! But I will still be writing whenever I am free! Maybe like 10 more chapters? Idk
