This fanfic is a parody of various documentaries about the history of the creation of certain shows, as well as a parody of The Simpsons episode "Behind The Laughter"

Narrator: Welcome to "Behind the Shows", in this program, we will learn about how your favorite programs were created, as well as the difficulties that their creators went through. Today we're going to talk about a show that had potential but eventually faded into oblivion: T.U.F.F. Puppy.

Narrator: The history of the creation of T.U.F.F. Puppy started in the usual town of Petropolis. The Puppy family moved to the city to create a good life in a larger society, as well as to make money for a living. Their previous home was a small residential building located in a village called "Little Town", where residents did not have much choice of work and they could only spend their savings on food and electricity. The house, which is located in Petropolis, went to the family thanks to the legacy of their Uncle (name withheld), who previously lived in this house.

Dudley: At first I had no direct desire to move there, well, a big city, a lot of unfamiliar things ... In a sense, I understood that we would have to be there because of the greater opportunities, but after a while I realized that it was not going there too bad, you can find many more friends, and also find yourself in this world. After that, we decided to completely stay here.

Narrator: Despite this decision, even here the family had some problems, because they simply did not accept most of the jobs they wanted to get, and in the end they had to earn extra money as workers at McPet's fast food, where they worked only 3 months.

Peg: The work was not always smooth, it smelled like grease all the time, everyone was like crazy, and they had to work hard because of the fast food around the clock, in short, I don't really want to remember.

Narrator: But how exactly did the idea for T.U.F.F. Puppy? And it appeared after Dudley became interested in cinema.

Dudley: I was interested in the cinematography for a reason, we had a TV on which we often watched different programs in the evenings, but our favorites were programs that were related to how agents caught bad criminals, there were a lot of them, but those that were, were monotonous.

Narrator: Dudley didn't like how the same thing happened in these broadcasts, that the agents were just looking for clues and finding the villain without any problems, while Dudley wanted more variety in the form of epic battles and good humor. Dudley began writing the plot for the pilot episode and decided to put himself as the main character, but in a more stupid character to give comedy. He managed to buy several equipment for filming, but the most difficult part for him was one detail - finding the actors for the show.

Dudley: To create a cast of the show, I had to find a special room, and my friend Roger helped me with this, his father had a large garage in which a bunch of people could fit, the garage had to be rebuilt inside for a more appropriate look, and Roger also helped to print special posters that we pasted almost all over the city.

Narrator: Small crowds of people gathered for the casting, but among these crowds, Dudley still found worthy actors.

Dudley: The first actor I chose was Kitty, she fit in perfectly as a more serious partner. She rehearsed a few lines and she was good at acting out.

Kitty: Honestly, I didn't think I could get into the role of a partner, as I had never tried to become an actor and worked only as an ordinary secretary, but after I decided to try it out, I was very lucky.

Keswick: I was hired to play the role of a scientist only after I failed to pronounce and show one of the lines initially. For this role, I brought a whole table with different flasks for chemistry, a bowling ball and other things (the bowling ball was needed to create a little joke about comparing an ordinary skull and a bowling ball). During the final line, I accidentally hit the table and the bowling ball fell right on my foot, after which I shouted "Ahh, my poor leg !", however, during this, I stuttered, and then I was given the given role, and stuttering has become a feature of my character.

Herbert (aka The Chief): I was not originally hired for the role of Chief, originally it was supposed to be a Bull named Jordon, but later Dudley thought about giving the character a special feature in the form of being a little flea. After that, Dudley wrote me a letter via the Internet, and appointed me to the role of the Chief of the Agency. They found me through the usual social. network, knowing only my name.

Snaptrap: I was given the role of the villain only because of my evil appearance and excellent acting. I love this role, because acting out the villain of the show was a great pleasure for me, since the role provided many opportunities for excellent acting out of the emotions of the villain.

Narrator: After the gathering of the first actors, the creation of a pilot episode began, where, according to the plot, the agents go to a call to stop the villain, but they were faced with the fact that they were armed and had assistants, and as a result, after a small battle, the agents arrest them and send them to jail. Filming took place in small rooms, as an agency, they had to use several offices of a small dishware company, and an abandoned warehouse near the exit from Petropolis was used as the villain's lair. The agency did not yet have a name, but the villain's lair had a canonical name, the fact is that Dudley did not yet know what abbreviation to give the agency, because the standard FBI name seemed too banal to him.

After work on the pilot episode was completed, Dudley went straight to Hollywood to pitch his show, but most of the channels refused him, saying that "there are a lot of similar shows and you are far from being a pioneer", although the channels are not completely understood the plot of this show. However, later, the Nickelodeon channel became interested in this pilot episode, which after watching the pilot episode agreed to this show, after which they provided funding and ordered 13 episodes.

And after that, T.U.F.F. Puppy started to pick up steam ...
