3 Months Later
"Ahh…"
I sighed as I lied down on my new bed that was slightly better than its predecessor. I had recently moved my location to the side of my impromptu training ground so I could get there more easily in the morning. Since I was moving anyways and had no desire to haul my tin can all the way over, I had taken the chance to renovate my house to a small hut made of rusted metal plates I had found during my expeditions to the outside world (I now knew the layout around me in around a 200 meter radius as well met my neighboring family of rats that I had promptly trapped and exterminated).
"Stats" I mentally commanded

I grinned in accomplishment, I had certainly earned my rest today, having trained the entire day today I had gained the glorious amount of +1 Strength and +2 Dexterity from running around with a broken washing machine tied behind (The chain had broke after 2 more laps due to the rust) and after that throwing scraps of metal through hoops which was harder than it sounded as I had to throw it perfectly straight or it would spin and hit the hoops sides causing it to create a horrible ringing tone that I had grown to utterly despise as it attracted curious folks who always for one reason or another were perfectly happy to take this as a sign I wasn't home and steal my bread or other hard earned appliances that I had scavenged from the junkyards just north of me.
Creak
Jumping up in alarm my mind raced with possibilities "Could it be a midnight burglar? Maybe just a curious animal?" deciding the safest course of action was just to stay near my bed. I lay back down, ready to jump at a moment's notice should the need arrive to take action.
2 minutes later. I sighed as I gave up waiting for the object that had scared me not moments earlier to show itself, and curled up into a ball once again and let my body relax and drifted off into the sweet embrace of sleep.
PAIN
I screamed as my dream was sharply interrupted by a blaring pain in my right arm as blood spurted from my arm drenching me in my own hot blood, crying out I thrashed wildly in my bed, something holding on to my arm and refusing to let go as the now identified canines bit ever deeper into my arm as I thrashed. "I COULD NO DIE HERE" a voice screamed in my head, as I thrashed even harder then before
Warning: HP Below 20%. You will die due to blood loss within 2 minutes if you do not sleep.

Quickly deciding to take action I punched wildly sending whatever I had hit crashing into the wall in front of me. Taking the moment as a breather I studied my opponent and dark orange eyes stared back, reflecting the moonlight. It was a Tiger, one of the most fearsome animals there were in the wild. Taking a reflexive step back I shivered in fear before gathering my courage. I was a human. Humans had an advantage. We were smart.
The tiger having decided that it was hungry enough to take a risk, lunged forwards, claws ready to bisect me. Rolling away I ducked under my bed heart beating with adrenaline. The tiger, confused at no longer being able to see me stalked around the room in search of its hidden meal. Seeing it about to turn the corner around my bed I lunged forwards with a mighty yell and nailed it right in between its eyes, smirking in victory, I saw the blood flow freely from its now broken nose as it growled in a combination of pain and anger, before dashing forwards onto me, pushing me onto the ground. I thrashed wildly in it's grip, kicking at it as it growled at me, head posed to pull out my jugular. Taking a chance I pushed my legs up and flipped the tiger over me, and immediately took my position above it, strangling it with my hands I gripped, putting all of my strength into my stranglehold.
The tiger thrashed in my grip, unwilling to give up, but I felt it slowly started to slow. The oxygen loss finally taking its toll upon the giant beast. Finally after a minute of thrashing, it gave out, fading from the world.

Letting my shoulders finally relax I sighed in relief as I nursed my bleeding wound, bleeding it out first to make sure it didn't get infected.
This had been my first real encounter with the cold, harsh world.
5 Days Later
My wound had nicely healed after a nice night of sleep due to my special gamer's abilities that allowed me to heal to full HP after each night of sleep, and had continued my daily schedule of: Wake up, Grind for 2 hours, junkyard scrapping for 4 hours, then my afternoon grinding session for 8 hours. Today was one such day, I had been working out for 4 hours now, training my agility by running around meteor city, glaring forwards, I kept my eyes on the ground. Sweat pouring off me under the burning sun that plagued Meteor City constantly without remorse.
Step, step, step, step, step, step
I fell into the rhythm of the steps, taking peace and solace in the steady beats of my feet upon scrap metal. And let myself drift into thoughts. How could I leave Meteor City? It's not like I could stay here forever, if I did I would most probably suffer from an early death… But if I did, did I really want to interfere with the plot? Was it really worth it? It seemed to just be a promise of an early death… Mulling over my thoughts I dropped into the rhythm of my steps again.
Step, step, ste-AHHHHH
-10 HP HP: 190/200
I hit the ground rolling for several seconds before hitting a broken car. Feeling something on me, my body's instincts kicked in and I snapped a kick at my captor sending the person flying backwards into the broken car.
Skill: Melee Combat Has Leveled Up By: 1!
The now identified girl with dark hair and skin groaned before sitting up and glaring at me.
"Damn, that wasn't a nice way to thank someone who just saved you." she growled.
I stared back confused, had she saved me? From what? Also, why did it feel like I knew her from somewhere.
"What did you save me from? I was just running" I asked, lifting myself up from the ground while patting the dust out of my pants.
"God, did you not see the group of bandits ahead of you? You're either incredibly dumb or just blind" she responded, clearly still mad at what had happened.
Clearing my throat, I realized I had really lost myself there. "Well, um sorry, I kinda lost myself there, by the way what's your name?" I asked back. Cheeks flushing a bit in embarrassment.
"Canary, What's yours?"

Chapter end. Thanks for all the likes and follows and sorry for the short chapter again, also a bit squeezed, I mean there were 2 major events like 100 words apart because I don't know how to stretch out nothing. Sorry! Also sorry for the time it took to get this one out. I really got lazy! Thanks for reading!
