Back on Earth, Bulma is once again sitting outside her Summer Home with a Young Kid Bulla sitting right next to her while holding a Juice Box. This time, Beerus and Whis aren't with them, and Vegeta is out training with his now Adolescent Son, Trunks. After a long stalemate in their base forms, it appears the young Half-Saiyan is at a clear disadvantage. They stop for a moment as Prince Vegeta teleports in front of his son and asks him "What's wrong? Already tuckered out? Seems like all that time you spent goofing around has made you soft."
After taking deep breaths, Trunks replies "What do you mean 'Goofing Around'? I've been studying for my final exam these past few weeks. I haven't had much time to train up until now."
"Tsk. Don't give me that nonsense. That's the kind of excuse I'd expect from Kakarot's older kid. I'll be damned if you repeat his past mistakes."
"Oh please. You really think this is gonna work? I know what you're trying to do, Dad. You're just trying to motivate me by talking trash to my face. I know how you roll. Just me knowing that makes your methods useless."
"Hmm. Yes. There is truth to what you're saying." Vegeta smirks. "But I also think you're missing a few details you're not aware of."
This confuses Trunks. "What do you mean by that? Got any other motivational tricks up your sleeve?"
"Not this time. Just a word of advice. Arrogance is something to be earned, Kiddo. Take it from me. Don't just assume that other people don't pay attention. As one example...do you really think I haven't noticed you sneaking off at night to do who knows what?"
Trunks is visibly shocked to hear this. "Say what?! How the hell did you-?!"
"Relax, Kid. Your mother is right there in case you've forgotten. Do you want her finding out?" Trunks looks over to where his mom is relaxing. Fortunately for him she's far enough away that she couldn't have heard what his father just said. "Now that I have your attention, lets get straight to the point. See you're not nearly as clever as you think. You may be older now, but you still have a lot to learn. You should be thankful that I haven't told your mother about what you've been doing just yet. Now, if you want us to keep it that way, I expect you to get stronger by next year's tournament. Am I clear?"
Trunks lets out a groan, and begrudgingly says "Yes, Father." In his mind the boy thinks to himself Wish he didn't have to stoop that low in order to patronize me, but well played.
"Hm. Good. Now let's keep going."
As Trunks and Vegeta continue their training, Bulma speaks to a Young Bulla saying "Isn't this great, Sweetie? A convenient spot for both family vacationing and father-son training all in one. Pretty smart decision. Am I right?" As Bulla nods, her Mom suddenly gets a call on her phone. She picks it up and says "Hello? Oh hey, Jaco. What's goin on?" Bulma is horrified by what she hears. "SAY WHAT?!"
On Jaco's end, he tells her "It just came up on the radar, Bulma...at the edge of the Solar System. I contacted you as soon as I could. You've got to inform Vegeta. An entire fleet is on it's way to Earth as we speak."
Bulma calls out "AAAH! AN ENTIRE FLEET?!" Vegeta and Trunks both hear this and they both stop where they're at. Scared for her life, Bulma asks Jaco "And uh...uh are you sure...t-that it's...you know...Frieza?"
Vegeta is unnerved by this as he grits his teeth. The Proud Prince thinks to himself Dammit! That pain in the ass is at it again? Guess we're due for another round. Aren't we?
Back on Jaco's end, the Galactic Patrolman replies to Bulma's question "Well...I'm not entirely sure...but their ships do look very similar 'cept for the uh...Lining of the Hull and such..."
A confused Bulma exclaims "Huh? What the hell is that suppose to mean?!"
"Eh...It's a similar design to what Frieza Force Shuttles tend to have, but the hull looks different somehow, like...it's from a different faction or something."
"What? Are you serious? Well that's weird. Any idea who else it Could be?"
"Well...I um..."
"Yes?"
"Well...Y-you see...there has been some chatter about an insurrection taking place in Lord Frieza's Territory these past two months. Maybe That has something to do with it?"
Back on Earth, Bulma blurts out "Insurrection? You mean like an uprising?!" Trunks is unsettled by this statement.
"Yeah exactly," says Jaco.
"And you say it's been going on for two months?" Trunks and Vegeta look at eachother with serious faces. Suddenly Bulma's face lights up. "That's Great!" Vegeta and Trunks are both taken aback by Bulma's irreverent statement. "Guess people out there are really starting to stand up to that Lord Frieza guy huh?"
"Uh...Bulma...this is a very serious situation we're dealing with here...in case you forgot."
An embarrassed Bulma snaps back to reality. "Oh yea. You're right. I uh...You know what? I'll ask Vegeta about it and have him take care of it. Okay? Buh-Bye."
As Bulma hangs up her phone, Vegeta immediately touches down along with Trunks who tells his mom "Well now...so much for the family vacation."
Bulma scoffs in agreement. "Yea. You said it, kid."
Vegeta cuts in. "Jaco said something about a 'Fleet'. Correct? Did he mention how close they are?"
"Well yea. It sounds like they just entered the Solar System," says Bulma. "But hey, if these people are fighting Frieza they can't be that bad. Right?"
Trunks doesn't exactly agree. He tells her "That's not necessarily the case, Mom. Even the Saiyans back on Planet Vegeta weren't very nice people."
Vegeta cuts in with a smirk. "Heheh. Glad to see you remember what I told you. That being said I'd rather not take any chances with the newcomers. Besides if the rebels are coming here then I'm certain that Lord Frieza isn't too far behind. We should go inform the others post-haste. Trunks, hold on to me."
"Right," says Trunks as he places his hand on his father's shoulder. Vegeta immediately uses the Instant Transmission technique he learned from the Yardrats.
