Remus flourished with his wand, and a shock of lightning lashed out towards Greyback, who blocked it with a conjured shield of rubber. Meanwhile, Elias and Percival began dueling Dolohov and Lestrange, casting all sorts of spells throughout the Hospital Wing.

Poppy Pomfrey stood at the door, waiting... hoping... praying that she would not need the wand in her hand.

Remus twirled his wand, and a nearby cot was animated, and began charging at Greyback, ramming him into a wall. He coughed up blood, but managed to block the following Reductor curse. Then, he lashed out with a Blasting Curse, aimed at Percival, but Remus blocked it with a shield. "I'm your opponent, Greyback!" He bellowed, before causing the cot to animate further and coil around Greyback, constricting his movements. But it didn't get to his wand arm in time. He aimed at the door to Madam Pomfrey's office, and loosed a blasting spell. It landed, destroying the door. But Pomfrey was no fool; a shield had been constructed since earlier, and so the shrapnel flew outwards rather than inwards, and so the children were protected from the blast... but now, there was nothing between them and the Death Eaters.

Remus cursed and ran to Poppy's side, but was sent aside by Greyback's next curse; a Stunning Spell, thankfully, not a Killing Curse. But all the same, the Werewolf was free. Lupin ragdolled... but his replacement was here. James Potter had run up when he heard the explosion, and he aimed at Greyback from behind. "Fulgur Maxima!" He roared, and a blast of lightning illuminated the werewolf, like a silhouette amidst a sun. He crumpled to the ground while James ran to his friend's side, checking to make sure the worst hadn't happened. Greyback, meanwhile, lay stiff and unmoving.

The other duels raged on around them, however. Elias swung his wand, and three large runes appeared around him, before firing beams of light at Antonin Dolohov. He blocked them with a shield, then transfigured the ground into quicksand around Eaton's feet. Elias Summoned a cot, clambered atop it, and then solidified the ground once more. Then loosing a Blasting spell, Dolohov skidded backwards as his protection barely held, and then launched a floating charm that caused Eaton to soar upwards. But he was prepared; he landed feetfirst on the ceiling, and then aimed below, and a large rune appeared beneath Dolohov; a trap set on the cot, which the Death Eater had leapt atop while dodging spells James launched at him to distract while Elias floated to the ceiling. The rune then caused the cot to snap shut like a venus fly trap, and Dolohov's movement was almost totally restricted. Eaton then shot from the ceiling to the ground, his landing causing the ground to crack. He held his wand to Dolohov's throat, and muttered 'Incarcerous', and ropes curled out from his wand, tying the cot and Death Eater both together tight. The Professor of Ancient Runes then ripped the wand out of his adversary's hand, and snapped it in two. Groaning, Dolohov cursed the man who did this to him... well, up until Eaton put him to sleep with 'Somnus'.

Last was Percival Dumbledore vs Rodolphus Lestrange, for the three duels inside Hogwarts itself. He swung his wand downwards, and a slash of wind launched towards the Death Eater. He deflected it towards Eaton, who nullified it with his own charm. Realizing he was the only one left, Lestrange became crazed. He launched spell after spell in every direction, veins popping out on his forehead and arms with the stress of using so much magic. The remaining Wizards did their best to contain it, using a three-person ritual spell to cast a barrier all around Rodolphus, causing the spells to blast back inwards... in but a moment, Rodolphus Lestrange was no more as his own magic backfired and vaporized him from existence, leaving nothing behind but a pile of soot and ash.

Then there were the duels going on out on the hill. Which, understandably, were much quicker, for the most part.

While Snape and Wormtail's duel was quick and painless - Severus knocked Wormtail out so quickly, it barely even qualified as a duel - the remaining three duels were far more epic.

Filius Flitwick created an array of colorful bubbles that distracted Lucius Malfoy, before he began launching curse after curse at them. This proved to be a mistake, as the bubbles absorbed the curses before exploding upon coming within range of the Death Eater. They blasted him, bombarded him really, and he was lucky to survive, dropping unconscious. Clearly Filius Flitwick, once an accomplished Dueling Champion, was barely inconvenienced by the much less impressive Lucius Malfoy... whom Flitwick had previously taught, of course meaning the Dark Wizard didn't really stand a chance.

Minerva McGonagall, meanwhile, had transfigured Bellatrix Lestrange's robes into a vice, ignoring the woman's taunts of 'Our men are already in Hogwarts!' and 'That baby is as good as dead!'. Instead, she raised her wand, lifting Lestrange into the air-- and then Bellatrix freed herself, and launched a curse at McGonagall, which the witch easily knocked aside. "You will find, Miss Lestrange, that your husband is likely defeated or dead, if he was so foolish as to attack the men inside that Castle." Bellatrix shrieked at the thought, and fired a Killing Curse at Flitwick, aiming to catch McGonagall off-guard the same way Voldemort had Dumbledore during their last duel. But she failed to realize, it seems, that such a trick only works on someone once. McGonagall swung her wand, and a barrier of stone erupted, taking the brunt of the spell and barely budging. She then transfigured the stone into a steel golem, and it swung its fist; Lestrange crumpled, blood gushing from her wand arm, which had been shattered by the blow. She would never hold a wand again; not, at least, as she had in her proper prime.

... The final duel was between Voldemort himself, and Albus Dumbledore. No words can appropriately explain what happened, but one shall do their humble best.

Dumbledore's wand conjured a flock of doves, and Voldemort scorched them alive with a flame blown from his mouth. The elderly wizard then transfigured the flame into water, and used the water as a whip, slinging it at the Dark Lord, who then took a page from McGonagall's book and conjured a barrier of stone around himself that protected him from the water. He then turned the stones into sharp blades of steel, and launched them at Dumbledore as if from a cannon. Albus simply waved his wand and a shield turned the blades into sand, which he transfigured into ice cubes that he flung all around the ground. Voldemort cursed as his bare feet stepped on the cold ice, and Albus used the chance to charm Voldemort's Robes to be exceedingly sticky. Voldemort swung on a heel slowly, hindered by his now very sticky robes, and shot three curses at Dumbledore, all at once. Dumbledore blocked two with ease, but the third struck his feet, and his shoes turned into roller skates. Bemused and amused, Dumbledore turned his shoes back to normal while Voldemort restored his robes and did away with the ice cubes.

But by now, McGonagall and Flitwick had completed their duels, and joined in the battle... it was very quick after this. Flitwick Charmed Minerva's Golem to attack Voldemort, who was distracted with Blasting it into oblivion, and thus didn't see as McGonagall Charmed his robes to begin strangling him. He dispelled the Charm just as three stunning spells struck him in the chest... but Voldemort, Lord of the Dark Arts, was not so easy to subdue. He skidded backwards... and then unleashed a flurry of dark spells outwards. McGonagall and Flitwick pooled their efforts and recreated the same type of barrier that had done in Rodolphus Lestrange. The barrier reflected the dark spells, but Voldemort countered this by unleashing a wave of energy that caused the spells to self-destruct, and the barrier to shatter. But during all that time, Dumbledore was storing energy for a powerful spell. He reared back, then thrust his wand. "Goodbye, Tom." He whispered, and the resulting spell sent Tom Riddle flying... and he disintegrated as he did so, turning into dust that was carried on the wind.

The remaining Death Eaters, Giants and Dementors, watching their master fall, went haywire, but they were quickly subdued by Dumbledore and his forces. Now... now it was time to contact the Ministry.

Dumbledore left the arrests up to the Aurors that had come by, and Apparated into his office - being Headmaster comes with its perks - before grabbing some Floo powder. He walked over, said, clearly, "Ministry of Magic - Cornelius Fudge's Office," and then walked into the Green Flames. Reappearing, he greeted Fudge - who seemed appropriately aghast and shocked - and began explaining what had gone on that night...
