Police tape had the crime scene barricaded off. Police officers were examining the scene, taking photos and gathering forensic evidence. There was blood every where. And the blood splatter came from two young teenagers. A boy, age fourteen, with green hair and freckles on his cheeks, wearing a middle school uniform. And a girl, age thirteen, with brown hair and pronounced blush marks on her cheeks. The saddest part about this apparent double suicide was both victims were holding hands, and in post death, their hands remained connected, fingers entwined as rigor slowly sets in. High above the building where they jumped from together, were the very same children, staring down upon their corpses.

"Izuku?"

"Hm? Yes, Ochako?"

The girl looks to him shyly. "Well… how do you feel?"

"… Liberated," he answers quietly. "I'm no longer in pain."

"Okay. I feel the same way, too," she whispers.

Both teens return to looking upon their corpses from high above, on the roof they leapt from an hour ago. Neither had a very good life. One was discriminated against because he was born without a quirk. The other was humiliated, ridiculed, and bullied because she was born into a family with a failing business and thus was very poor. He was hated because he was quirkless, was beaten, was bullied. She was hated because she had little money to live a comfortable life, often her parents had to scrimp and save and it made her feel worthless because they had to care for a child while living minimum wages. They found each other when they were seven. She didn't care he was quirkless. He didn't care about her being a poor girl. But sometimes, society beats down upon them because of things out of their control.

"I'm… actually happy…"

"Same here. There's no more pain and misery…"

"No more bullying from our peers because of me being quirkless and you being poor…"

"It's for the best, anyway. Mom and dad… they don't have to worry about wasting money to care for me," Ochako said.

"And… mom would be able to move on. Once dad finds out, he'll come back. They'll move on knowing I'm no longer a blight in the family," said Izuku.

Ochako reached for him and held his hand tightly. He squeezed in response.

"Makes me wonder what did we do to deserve being born in a cruel life," she ponders.

"Well, our lives are over now. It was too much for us to handle…"

Silence descends upon them.

"Izuku… I'm kinda scared…"

"… I am, too, Ochako…"

"But, as long as I got you… I can face whatever happens to us," said Ochako.

"Same here," Izuku said in agreement.

They gaze into each other's eyes, the brutal death scar marring their faces.

"In the next life… I promise you, Ochako… you and I will live a wonderful lifetime. I'll make you my wife. I will be your loving loyal husband."

"In the next life… I promise you, Izuku… I will be your greatest lover, your greatest wife, and the greatest mother of your children."

Both hands held strong, fingers entwined, as they slowly begin to fade away starting from their feet, slowly creeping up their bodies.

"I will always love you, Izuku."

"I will always love you, Ochako."

They leaned in, closing the distance and gave each other one final kiss…

… Their spirits vanished into the ether…

I was sad when I wrote this. Needed to channel that sadness out.
