I do NOT own Fairy Tail and Shelter, sadly
Chap 3: New Cloth Sale?
"Huh, me?"
"I have to say something… inspiring?!"
"This is… Huh?"
"Wait, it's recording already?!"
"Wait! Stop!"
"Uh, Uh, Uhh…"
"K-Keep moving forward…"
"Despite all… odds."
"…"
"I don't want to do this!"
"Wendy, wai—"
-Wendy's speech: Take 1
Southeastern portion of Fiore, X784 October 25
Train station in Magnolia
The annual Harvest Festival is finally over. But even so, Magnolia is still bustling with activity. Ranging from cleaning up the mess from the parade to selling all kinds of goods and trinkets. Groups of people can be seen flitting from store to store, purchasing various stuff displayed on rows of racks filled to the brim with random bits and pieces stowed mainly for this year.
Certain individuals though, are more focused on cloth sales.
Wendy, now about 4'11, can be seen talking to an elderly man. Her long dark blue hair swaying softly with the wind as she tried to bargain with him. She was usually shy around other people, but she seems to be fine talking with the elders, a possible influence of her guild master, Roubaul, who was very kind and comfortable to be with. She clutched her blue-striped yellow dress in mild frustration. She wore blue doll shoes and a set of wing-like attachments on her limbs.
Meanwhile, Rin, now about 5'4, can be seen walking around repeatedly in circles, massaging her temples as if trying to remember something important. Her long slightly sparkling reddish hair fluttering with the wind. She wore a simple pink wavy dress, ending in beaded strands, beneath a white patterned quarter-sleeved cardigan. Her shoes are a pair of brown leather strapped sandals.
She can be seen walking repeatedly in circles, massaging her temples as if trying to remember something important. She has been like that ever since the old man mentioned something about a sale discount.
She stopped briefly and began to approach Wendy. "Wendy, I finally remembered!" She chirped excitedly. "The store that's opening late today will be selling cloth for a 70% discount! C'mon, it opened up a few hours ago!" Rin excitedly said as she grabbed Wendy, who was more focused on trying to bargain with the elderly man.
"Fine little miss, I'll trade you these for those damasks you mentioned." The old man sighed in defeat as Wendy was pulled away by Rin.
"Uhm, sir! J-just file for a trade request at the post office! Tell them it's for Cait Shelter!" Wendy shouted at the old man, who gave a thumbs up in response, while being dragged away.
"Rin-san."
"Yes?" Rin replied.
"Please don't pull me away while I'm talking with someone, It's very disrespectful." Wendy stated as she was still being dragged. "And please walk slower, I'll trip."
"Oh, sorry!" Rin let go of Wendy's hand "Remember that store sign we saw earlier, it said that they'll be selling cloth for a 70% discount. I've completely forgotten about it! It's getting late, so we have to go there already, or we'll miss the sale!" Rin said as she grabbed Wendy's hand again.
Now, it was Wendy's turn to sigh in defeat as she let herself be dragged all the way to the other end of the market.

Upon arrival at the shop, the two were stunned to see a blockage at the entrance. The blockage is a mass of people, mostly male, trying to get inside. The shop itself is a tiny looking establishment, with a big lacrima powered sign dangling overhead. The sign kept on flashing a message, but the two girls were more occupied trying to think of a way to get in than paying attention to their surroundings.
Accidentally, both girls were shoved in the blockade by another customer, trying to get in as well. So now, both girls are trapped in a mass of smelly BO and sweaty people. With no choice but to move forward, both girls opted for the ol' push n' shove.
They finally made it inside.
Both girls gave a sigh of relief, before realizing they came in the wrong establishment. This establishment is most certainly not for children, or even for teenagers. Wendy and Rin's extremely red faces are enough evidence.
"Wha-whaaa…" Wendy stuttered, immediately covering her eyes.
Wendy and Rin ran outside so quickly, unsuspecting customers experienced a whiplash of wind.
"I-I didn't see anything!" Wendy covered her already red face with her hands.
"I was pretty sure it was this shop…" Rin trailed off before looking up at the sign.
The sign flashed 'Cloth Shop moved here', pointing to a rather deserted shop next door.
Wendy made awkward noises and Rin fell to her knees.
"So that's why it opened late, it was being moved… but still," Rin whined. "You have got to be kidding me!" Rin shouted at the sky, garnering the attention of various shoppers.

After a mad shopping spree, both girls are ready to go home, after all, it is getting late.
"Ready to go home?" Rin asked while trying to balance a tall stack of boxes with her arms.
"Mhm." Wendy replied, balancing another stack of boxes as they passed a cake shop, a loud rumble escaped her stomach. "But first, let's eat."
"Agreed, I'm starving." Rin said as she put down the boxes, eyeing the food displayed through the glass window. "Wait here."
Wendy watched as Rin entered the shop, a delicious scent filled Wendy's nose as Rin opened and closed the door. Her stomach gave another low approving rumble.

Having eaten their fill of cake, both girls are now finally ready to go home.
Rin went ahead and boarded the train, constantly looking back just to make sure she had not lost track of Wendy.
"Wendy, faster. The train is bound to start moving soon." Rin called out to the girl behind her.
"Coming." Wendy replied as a blond girl with a pink mark on her hand, sat down a few seats from her.

The ride was quiet and pleasant, occasional talks were being exchanged from passenger to passenger, but it was mostly quiet, and pleasant.
The scenery seen from the windows was spectacular, endless rows of trees seem to be guiding the train to its destination, mountains of varying sizes outlining the horizon. In the distance, you can see the faint red glow of the sun as it sets, before completely vanishing, the sky being enveloped by a purplish-blue hue and billions of stars.
"Hey Wendy, I overheard something from the passengers a few seats behind us." Rin whispered.
"Rin-san, eavesdropping is bad." Wendy whispered back as she looked at Rin.
"E-eh, I just overheard it, I'm not eavesdropping…" Rin denied as she shook her hands. "And besides, what they said was pretty interesting. They said something about this 'Fairy Tail' guild, do you know it?"
"Oh, uhm, not much. But I'm sure they're popular, I've seen a few magazines loitering around our guildhall, featuring Fairy Tail. Our guild master seems to like it very much, I saw him sleeping with a few magazines." Wendy replied happily, missing the real context behind her own words.
"Old man…" Rin had a blank look on her face before shaking her head. "Hey, did you know, Fairy Tail held some sort of event during the festival. The onlookers said it was fun. They even had fireworks! But the thing is, they've destroyed a couple of buildings during the event…"
Wendy gave a slight chuckle, "They're quite the destructive bunch it seems." Before averting her gaze from Rin to the scene outside the window.
A/N: Hey guys! Clover here.
This chapter is based on episode 49? where Wendy first appears.
While I was watching, I saw Wendy holding a stack of boxes in the train Lucy's boarding. I said to myself, why don't I dedicate this chapter for Wendy's first appearance in the anime? Sure, why not! The real story starts around the nirvana ark. So, stay tuned for more incoming chapters.
Here is a quick rundown:
5 years had passed since the last chapter, I was kind of debating if I should dedicate more time into making fillers in those past 5 years but, Nirvana ark is one of my favorites and I can't wait to post stories about it!
Wendy and Rin grew out of their clothes, so they are wearing new ones.
Takes place after the Harvest Festival, where Lucy is brooding about lacking a boyfriend.
This is a filler chapter.
A revamped filler chapter.
