Told you the next chapter would be up soon. Here you go, Chapter 5...

{Clary's POV }

I only just then realised how high up I was - this hotel must have been about 20 stories high.

Hodge loked up from the ground at me with a confused expression on his face.

"What could you possibly want from me? I am assuming you are not in allegiance with the Clave - if you were there would be more of you" he spoke with pure curiosity.

I instinctively scowled at the word 'Clave', what a pathetic organisation of Nephilim. Purposefully allying themselves with downworlders, vile creatures.

"I will be the one asking the questions Starkweather. You are an Ex-Circle Member, making you a person of interest to me." I retorted. I pulled out the knife in his stomach, causing him to growl in pain. To someone else this would be an upsetting scene, but I had always enjoyed seeing the power I could hold over someone.

"So let's get to the point shall we? You were presumed dead after the Uprising, why stay in the shadows?" I demanded, playing with the bloody knife in my hand, showing him how cooperating would be better for him.

"Living as a deadman is easier when people believe you are dead. If the Clave knew I was alive, I would have been a deadman walking - I still am it seems" he added at the end with a small smile creeping onto his mouth.

"Now little Nephilim, before I answer any more of your questions. Show me your face, take your hood down. I like to know who I am dealing with sweeheart" Hodge spoke with a commanding voice.

I did not care for his little demand, so swiftly lunged down and plunged the knife into the centre of his palm. He cried out in agony, I had hit his meta-carpal, slicing right through the bone caued the most bone. One of my father's tricks.

"Pissing me off will do you no good 'sweetheart' " I stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

"OKAY. Okay, I'll talk" he failed at keeping the pain out of his voice embarassingly.

"Now that's much better. Where have you been hiding all these years?"

"On the outskirts of Idris. Mostly up in the mountains."

"Why did you not return to Valenti-" I stopped myself short as I realised what I had just spoken.

"Valentine is ALIVE?"

Damn it Clary, you had one job you mindless girl. I did the one thing I could think of, I punched square across the face, he fell to the floor - he would be out cold for the next 10 minutes max.

{Jace's POV}

Izzy and Jon left as soon as we were through the portal to circle the perimeter of the Hotel.

Me, my father and Alec and Robert entered was used to be a Lobby. The plan was for my dad and Robert to scour the place from the top to bottom, and me and Alec would go from bottom to top.

Robert looked over at me and Alec, we both nodded and they began their ascent on the stairs to the top floor.

{Time Skip}

Alec had his elbow pulled back on the bow, as we had finished checking the 3rd floor of the building ; while I had my seraph blade raised high above my head.

Suddenly a fire message came flying at my face, it startled us both immensely. But I caught it nonetheless.

It read...

Alec and Jace,

Me and Jon have run the perimeter and we have dangerously

high demon energy readings coming from the roof of the hotel.

You two need to get there now, me and Jon are on our way.

~ Izzy

I felt my face sharpen, Stephen and Robert were up there unaware of the dangers. I started running for the stairs, Alec didn't need to ask any questions. That was one of the good things about a parabatai, you just understood the other without communication.

We ran flat out, getting higher and higher, until we burst out onto the roof and I stared in disbelief at the scene we had ran into.

{Clary's POV}

After I had knocked out Starkweather, I was beginning what to do with him. I couldn't let him live knowig Valentine was alive, but what would father say if he knew I killed an Ex-Circle Member.

I was snapped out of my thoughts as, the Fire Exit door on the roof was blown off its hinges - a powerful opening rune I assumed. Followed by the door were two men, both covered in black Fighting gear.

The second they noticed Starkweather lying unconscious at my feet they drew their blades, naming them 'Ithuriel' and 'Abriel'. I had not drawn Heosphorus yet, I would wait to see what these Nephilim were going to do, always allow your opponent to make the first move ~ lesson 1.

The men had stalked closer to me and were within fighting distance.

"By the order of the Clave, state your name Nephilim." the one on the left called out to me.

"Not a chance" was my short reply. And I smirked underneath the shadows of my hood.

"This should be fun" were the last words I hissed before the shadowhunters moved to attack me.

I focused on the left one first, kicking him high in the gut, he spluttered as he was knocked off balance, backwards. I then drew Heosphorus from it's sheath and blocked the other mans feeble sword from cuting into my midsection. The force of Heosphorus on the seraph blade made a wave of power radiate from the two as they crashed together.

I then swung my leg across the ground in a swift arc - the man fell down onto one knee. I saw an opportunity and took it, i slammed down into his thigh one of the knives from my boot. He yepled as is speared threw his leg and fell to the ground.

One down, one more to go.

I span around and saw too late the other mans fist connecting with my jaw. I did not fall, but spat out the blood that had filled my mouth and turned to glare daggers into his eyes.

{Jace's POV}

I saw a shadowhunter whom I did not recognise spit out blood onto the concrete roof before turning to dodge Robert's second punch with easy grace. This shadowhunter then pivoted into a fighting stance I did not recognise, then they landed powerful jabs into Robert's midsection, these fast strong punches caused pain to spread across Robert's face.

The mystery Nephilim continued to grab Alec's Dad's arm, twist around to look jace square in the eyes and snap his arm over their shoulder.

Robert's cry of pain snapped Jace and Alce into action.

Alec running over to his dad, while I charged straight into this shadowhunter, she was clearly unprepared as I sliced into the gear on her arm. Causing the whole arm to fall off, so it now ended at the shoulder.

I had not seen it before, but when I felt the penetrating stare of this Shadowhunter I saw her captivating green pools were complete with hatred. She was a girl, judging by her body.

{Alec's POV}

As I drew iratze's on both Stephen and my father, even though their injuries would need much more healing power than an iratze.

And I spun around to watch Jace attack the Shadowhunter girl. Now her arm was exposed due to Jace's cut it was clear to see all the runes and scars across her arm.

Jace attacked the girl with such speed he was blurred to Alec, he had never seen anyone else move with such speed and precision. Until now. The girl matches him strike for strike. Until she did something unexpected and switched her fighting style to one he had never encountered before.

{Clary's POV}

I had to admit, blondie wasn't half bad. But his training was nothing compared to mine. I used a skill he wouldn't expect, I grabbed his blade in my hand and spun along it so I was face to face with the shadowhunter boy.

"Gotcha" i breathed into his face.

And forced his sword to the ground and hit him in the neck with the hilt of Heosphorus, he began choking and stumbled a couple steps.

Although he did not fall which impressed me. Maybe Blondie was better than I had anticipated.

I ran to the edge of the roof before he coule catch up to me and lanched my self off.

I quickly drew a portal in thin air and thought of Morgenstern Manor.

The last thing I remembered was hitting solid earth. Hard.
