Next chapter is hereeee! Enjoy!
Lottie
BRRRRRR! BRRRRRR! Lottie Gibbs's alarm went off loudly and she groaned as she slapped her hand on it to turn it off.
'Time to get up,' she thought.
Silently, she got dressed and did her hair, and went downstairs to where her father was making breakfast for them both.
"Morning, Dad," she greeted her father with a kiss on the cheek.
"Morning, Lot. Sit down, and I'll get you your breakfast."
"Thank you."
Her phone buzzed.
Text from NCIS Fam.
She pulled open the message. It was from Abby.
Good luck at summer camp today Lottie! See you in six weeks!
Lottie smiled as she typed a message in reply.
Thanks, Abs. I'll miss you guys a lot.
She put her phone back into her pocket, just as her dad put her breakfast on the table.
"Thanks, Dad."
"How are you feeling about camp?" Gibbs asked her.
"I'm looking forward to it. It's an opportunity to meet new people and to do activities that I've never done before."
"I'm so proud of you, sweetheart," he told her.
"Thanks, Dad."
"Now, eat up. We have to go soon."
She smiled as she lifted a spoonful of cereal to her mouth.
Connie
Connie Shepard's eyes opened and she glanced at her clock. 0730.
'Time to get up.'
She pushed herself out of bed and got dressed and did her hair. She walked down the stairs quietly and into the kitchen where her Mom was frying eggs.
"Morning," Connie greeted her mother before she kissed her cheek.
"Morning, sweetheart," Jenny answered. "Sit down and I'll have your breakfast with you in a minute."
Connie sat down at the table, and tapped her fingers on the surface as she waited.
"How are you feeling about camp?" Jenny questioned.
"I'm feeling OK about it. It'll be nice to meet more kids my age, and hopefully some of them will be at my school."
"I'm glad you have such an open mind about this, sweetheart. I'm going to go upstairs and brush my teeth."
Jenny kissed her daughter's forehead and left the room and Connie to think.
Lottie
Gibbs and Lottie pulled in at Spindrift Summer Camp and Lottie took a deep breath.
"You ready?" He asked her.
She nodded.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
The two of them got out and went to the reception. They were able to get to the front immediately due to there being no queue.
"Name please?" The receptionist asked Lottie.
"Charlotte Gibbs."
"Of course, you're in Hut 13. Just past the dock and to the right a bit. Here are the keys."
Lottie took the keys from the receptionist's hand.
"Thank you," she said before she and Gibbs walked away from the reception.
"I'll see you in six weeks, sweetheart. If you need anything or you feel homesick, call, or message the group chat."
"OK, Dad. Love you."
"I love you too, Lot."
They hugged and Gibbs got into his car and drove away, Lottie watching.
"Right," she said to herself. "Time to find this cabin."
She followed the directions the receptionist gave her, and came to a dark wooden cabin with a large orange "13" on it. Lottie unlocked the cabin door and walked in. She sat down on the bed furthest away from the door and began putting her clothes in the closet on the wall just below her bed. The door opened, and Lottie turned around. Standing in the doorway was another girl around Lottie's age. They both gasped.
Connie
Jenny turned into the track that led to Spindrift Summer Camp and stopped the car when they got to the entrance. They both got out; Connie grabbed her bag from the trunk and then they walked to the reception area.
"Name please?" The receptionist asked before she looked up. "I just signed you in, didn't I?"
Connie was confused.
"You didn't. My name's Constance Shepard."
"Sorry. You're in Hut 13. Just past the dock and to the right a bit. There's already someone in there so you won't need the keys."
"Thank you," Connie said before she and Jenny walked away.
"I'll see you in six weeks. If you need anything, call me. If I don't pick up, send me a text and I'll get right back–" Jenny was cut off by her daughter.
"Mom, don't worry. I'll be fine."
Her Mom nodded.
"I love you, Con."
"I love you too, Mom."
They hugged and when they broke apart, Jenny kissed her daughter's forehead and walked away. Connie sighed as she looked at her Mom's retreating figure before she turned around and followed the receptionist's directions to the cabin. She got to the door and saw a person with long red hair in a single braid putting clothes in a closet. Connie opened the door, and the girl turned around. Their eyes both widened as they took in the other's face: the freckles, the blue eyes and the red hair.
Both
"You look just like me!" The two of them cried.
The next chapter should be up when I'm finished with the third, which should hopefully be soon if I continue having these writing bursts that have been happening.
Anyway, thanks for reading! X
