I AM BAAAAAAACCCCCCKKKKK. This story is such fun to write, and I love diving deep into the twins, which you'll see a little of in this one and in future ones.

Anyway, enjoy, I love you all. X

Previously

Connie was the one to nod this time.

"I'll see you in the morning," she said. "Love you."

Lottie smiled.

"Love you too."

They pressed the hang up button, got into their pyjamas and went straight to bed, nervous about the next day.

Present

Connie

Connie got up, got dressed, did her hair and went straight downstairs to where her father was waiting.

"Morning, Lot," he said. "I'm making your favourite, chocolate chip pancakes."

"Mmmm," Connie responded.

She made to grab the plates out of the cupboard but Gibbs stopped her.

"I'll get them. You sit down."

She nodded.

"Here you go," he placed a pile of chocolate chip pancakes in front of her.

She smiled and dug in. Soon enough, both of them had finished their pancakes and now had to finish getting ready so they brushed their teeth, put on their shoes and went into the truck. Connie felt a buzz from her pocket and got out her sister's phone.

Text from Viv.

We're on our way. Where are you guys?

On our way too. Meet me in the bathroom in the basement.

A response came immediately.

Okay.

She put her phone back in her pocket, just as they pulled into NCIS. She and Gibbs got out and went into the building. They got to the bullpen, Gibbs sat at his desk, and Connie went down to Abby's lab.

"Morning, Lottie!" Abby cried.

"Morning," Connie responded, just as her phone buzzed.

Text from Viv.

I'm here.

Connie's eyes widened slightly before she typed a response.

On my way.

"Lottie? Are you alright?" The goth asked.

"Fine, I just need to go to the bathroom quickly."

"Okay."

Connie walked out, leaving Abby confused.

Lottie

Lottie pushed herself out of bed, feeling absolutely exhausted. She got herself dressed, did her hair, and went down the stairs to where Jenny was making breakfast.

"Morning, darling. Are you alright?"

"Just tired."

Jenny nodded. It was true. Lottie was tired. She'd been up until the small hours worrying about how her parents would react to the fact that she and Connie had switched places.

'We never should have done it,' she thought to herself.

Jenny put a plate of fried breakfast in front of her daughter, who ate it quickly.

"I'm going to brush my teeth," Lottie said and fled the room.

She went upstairs to the bathroom, gripping onto the sink. She scrolled through the selfies of her and Connie on her sister's phone, trying to find a happy memory. She came across a video of Connie.

"Hey, Lot. I've recorded this just so if you're ever feeling anxious, you can turn to this video and it'll bring you some comfort. I never really had friends growing up. I mean, I had Mom, and her team members, but that was it. I was a loner, until I met you. I've only known you for a month now, but I already know that you're one of the people I love most in the world. You're not just my sister, you're my closest friend. I love you."

The video ended and a tear rolled down Lottie's cheek.

'Okay, I can do this,' she thought fiercely.

She brushed her teeth, and went downstairs to where Jenny was waiting, all ready to go.

"I'm just gonna grab my coat and shoes," Lottie told her, going into the cupboard with the jackets and shoes.

"Okay!" Jenny called.

'Jeez, Con,' Lottie thought. 'You have so many shoes.'

She grabbed a pair of sneakers, tied the laces, put on a coat, and she and Jenny got into the back of the car.

"Connie, this is my driver, Stanley Davies, and my security agent, Sarah Keating. Stanley, Sarah, this is my daughter Connie," the older redhead introduced them.

The agents nodded at Lottie who replied with a quiet "hi," and then they set off to NCIS.

We're on our way. Where are you guys? Lottie sent a text to Connie, with a response coming immediately.

On our way too. Meet me in the bathroom in the basement.

Okay. Lottie answered.

They pulled into NCIS and went in through the front doors. Lottie got a visitor's badge and she, Jenny and Agent Keating went up to the director's office.

"Connie, this is Cynthia, my assistant. Cynthia, this is my daughter Connie."

"It's nice to meet you, Connie, although I have to say, you look familiar."

Lottie's eyes widened slightly and she began to tap her pinkie on her thy.

"Huh," she responded.

"Come on, in you come," Jenny told her daughter.

"I actually have to go to the bathroom," Lottie told her.

"Of course. Cynthia, can–" she cut her mother off.

"It's fine, I can find it myself. Don't worry," Lottie answered as she left the office and went straight to the elevator, pulling out her sister's cell and sending a text.

I'm here.

She pushed the button for the basement, and just as the doors closed and she was about to put the cell back into her pocket, it buzzed.

On my way.

Lottie smiled slightly before the elevator doors opened and she got out, speed walking to the ladies' bathroom. Connie was already there.

"Oh thank goodness," Lottie said, hugging her sister.

"Are you alright?" Connie asked her sister concernedly. "You look exhausted."

"I am. I was up all last night worrying about what they would say, but then I came across the video you left for me." Lottie caught her sister's eyes. "Thank you. I was able to do this because of you."

They hugged again, Connie stroking her sister's hair.

"It's alright. I'm glad I was able to help you."

They pulled back.

"Here's your phone back," Lottie handed her sister her phone.

"And here's yours. Now how are we going to go through with this?" Connie asked.

"I'm not 100% sure. We could switch between our parents, or we could tell them the truth."

"Which one do you feel most comfortable with?"

"I think we should just tell them the truth."

Meanwhile, with Jenny...

'She's been acting so weird lately,' Jenny thought. 'Oh well, I guess I should meet Washington's field team.'

She went downstairs and into the bullpen.

"Excuse me, who's in charge here?" She asked.

"That would be me. Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo," a man in a suit said with a gleaming smile. "How may I be of service?"

"Oh, I just wanted to meet your team. What are your names?" She asked the curly haired woman and the man in a shirt and blazer.

"Ziva David," the woman said as she and Jenny shook hands.

"Timothy McGee," the younger man told her.

"I look forward to working with you and your team, Agent DiNozzo," Jenny informed him.

"Oh I'm not in charge," Agent DiNozzo told her, and he gestured to the elevator. "He is."

Jenny turned around and caught a pair of bright blue eyes, and her heart plummeted against her chest.

'No no no,' she thought. 'This can't be happening.'

"Hello, Jethro," she said quietly as he came into the bullpen.

"Hey Jen," he answered.

There were footsteps, and a pair of teenage redheads walked into the bullpen, but stopped abruptly as soon they saw Jenny and Gibbs looking at each other.

"Oh no," the two of them muttered.

"Wait, what on earth?" Gibbs asked, looking at the twins, and Jenny turned around.

"What?" Lottie questioned, sounding braver than she felt.

"You two know each other?" Jenny asked in shock.

"I guess you could say we do," Connie shrugged.

"Girls, Jethro, my office now," the oldest redhead said, and they all followed her up there.

She shut the door and the inquisition began.

"How do you two know each other?" Gibbs inquired.

The twins shared glances, deciding who would tell it. They eventually decided on them both.

"You guys sent us to the same camp, and we ended up in the same cabin. Connie came up with the idea to switch places so we could get to know our other parent. We trained one another to act like each other, and then we switched," Lottie explained.

"We didn't know how it was going to go, and Lottie was a bit nervous about it. We've done it, and we're sorry if we made you both angry, but we felt it was the only way," Connie finished.

"I'm not angry," Jenny told them. "If anything I'm proud of how well you managed to pull it off. You two taught each other so well."

She hugged both of her daughters.

"Me too," Gibbs said and hugged the twins too.

"Girls, go downstairs, we'll be down in a minute," their mother requested.

"Yes, Mom," they answered and then left.

Jenny gestured to the sofa and Gibbs sat down.

"How on earth did we end up sending them to the same camp?" Gibbs thought out loud.

"I don't know. Coincidence?" His ex wife questioned with a smirk.

"Rule 39," he answered gruffly and the smile faded a little.

"Still going by your rules, I see? I don't know why I expected anything different," she said bitterly.

"Jen–" she cut him off.

"Just go, Jethro."

He left the office, a familiar ache in his chest, and she looked on, her eyes glistening.

DRAMAAAAAA. There's also going to be a lot of that so I thought it would be a good idea to warn you now.

Thank you so much for reading! X
