;;Rebekah's Point of View;;
I turn and look away from Sage to what she is holding in her hand. A little box, barely bigger than a small rock. Sage pushes it lightly into my hand.
I couldn't look at it right now, not with Sage... dying. I could feel the tears trailing down my face freely. I couldn't look at Sage, she was leaving, she couldn't.
Feeling a coldness touch my cheek, I look up from my downcast, Sage is touching my cheek and wiping away my tears. "I love you more than anything. More than death itself. Never forget that, my love. I wish it didn't have to be like this…." Sage looks deeply at me with dazzling eyes, I love those eyes. "I wish we could have a proper wedding. I've dreamed of it." Sage says, smile on her face, as I blink.
She wants to marry me?!
"Yes!Yes! I will marry you!" I say frantically. "Don't leave me, please. Don't leave us."
"I wish I could stay….will be waiting for you…" Sage blinks slowly, her eyes drifting. Her hand was dropping from where I held it, I kept it close to my cheek, not wanting to let her go.
Her eyes were closing, "Sage, stay with me. No...please, please stay." I cry pitifully without being restrained. Sage smiles gently, "I love you both so much….Take-take...care of...each other…"
I watched it happen, her eyes closed and the smile drifted away, it hurts to watch it happen, it hurts so much. I watched her go, Sage. Sage...Sage!
"AAGHH! NOO!" I scream in tears, and could feel myself fall apart from the inside out. "Don't leave me! SAGE!" My head leans into her chest, and I press kisses into her neck, her face, her cheeks, but she still wouldn't wake.
I could hear distant wailing, and realized it was me, sobbing into the cold body. No words could describe what I felt inside.
