A/N: Momo and Shouto are just so cute together that I had to write a Christmas story about them. I hope you like it :)
Christmas was only a week away and Shouto really didn't know what to get Momo. If he was completely honest with himself he wanted to get her something special. The gifts for Izuku and Tenya had been easy to get, but he needed help with Momo's present. This was the first time he bought something for a female who wasn't a family member. He could always ask one of the girls in his class, but alone the thought made him uncomfortable. Sure, he had been more open with his classmates, but somehow finding a present for Momo felt too important to end up as potential gossip between the girls or even worse get back at Momo before Christmas. With that not being an option he thought about asking Izuku or Tenya, but they didn't seem like the kind of guys who had experience with buying gifts for girls. So that left the only person who he trusted enough and who would probably know what girls wanted for Christmas.
A day later on Saturday Shouto entered his family home. He had made sure that Endeavor wouldn't be home before coming. Just like he had hoped his sister was the only one who was home.
"Welcome home." The older Todoroki smiled at her little brother.
It had been a while since Shouto came back home and Fuyumi knew that their father was the reason for it. She was glad that Shouto had begun to see their mom more often now and was slowly rebuilding his relationship with her. Maybe one day even him and Endeavor would talk again and make up as well, at least that was what Fuyumi hoped for. Looking closer at her little brother Fuyumi could see that he seemed somewhat nervous.
"Let me make some tea for us." She smiled gently at him and a few minutes later the two sat at the table in the living room with two steaming cups in front of them. After taking a sip of her tea Fuyumi broke the comfortable silence between them.
"Not that you need a reason to come home, but I have a feeling that you came here with a question in mind."
"You're right. I want to ask you for advice." Shouto didn't know why but he felt a little embarrassed now that he was about to ask his sister, but he swallowed the lump in his throat and spoke up. "I want to get a presents for one of my friends."
"You're talking about Izuku and Tenya, right?"
"No, I already got their gifts. I hoped that you could help me with choosing something for Momo." The last part was almost a whisper and Shouto could feel his cheeks heat up. Why was he so embarrassed?
"Oh the girl from the sports festival with the creation quirk?" After Shouto nodded Fuyumi continued. "Now I remember, you also had your final exam together. You told me about her."
Fuyumi took another sip of her tea before she spoke up again.
"To find the perfect gift for someone you have to ask yourself what the person you're gifting means to you."
Fuyumi smiled to herself. She had a feeling that Shouto wasn't completely honest with himself when it came to Momo. Every time he had told her about the other recommended student he had sounded genuine happy and sometimes even a little excited. Fuyumi could still remember when he had told her about Momo's plan for the final exam. He had praised her and her intelligence and Fuyumi should hear the respect and admiration he held for the girl. When Shouto had showed her a picture of his class and had told her about everyone Fuyumi had noticed how he had stopped at Momo for a moment before he told her who she was. The girl was obvious beautiful and how Shouto described her she was also very caring and a great friend. To Fuyumi the black-haired beauty sounded like the right girl for her little brother. Shouto's past hadn't been easy thanks to their father and Fuyumi hoped every day that her little brother would find happiness.
"She is a great friend." Shouto's voice broke Fuyumi out of her thoughts. "She is very caring and always there for everyone. I think we couldn't wish for a better vice president. She is very intelligent and a very good leader and she is just amazing with using her quirk."
"It sounds like you think highly of her." Fuyumi tried to lead him gently into realizing his feelings, but with her emotional clueless brother she had to be careful.
"Of course I do, she is my friend after all."
"So you feel the same way about her than you feel about Izuku and Tenya?"
"They are all my friends." Shouto mused before he continued more thoughtfully. "I'll always be thankful to Izuku for making me see that the fire is mine and not Endeavors. Tenya is a great friend and I feel connected to him after we fought against Stain together."
"And what do you feel when you are with Momo?" Fuyumi asked softly.
"With Izuku and Tenya I feel comfortable, but with Momo it's different. It's not that I don't feel comfortable with her, but I'm more nervous and sometimes my heart beats faster."
"Does your quirk act up when she is close to you and you feel your cheeks heat up?"
"Yes, that happens a lot as well." Shouto was relieved that his sister understood him, because he didn't really know what his feelings meant. Maybe she could help him. "What does that mean?"
"Shouto, I think that you like Momo." When Fuyumi saw the confusion in his eyes she continued. "Romantically. You like Momo romantically, little brother."
Fuyumi watched in slight amusement how Shouto's normally expressionless face changed into different expressions. The best ones definitely were the confused one followed by realization and finally embarrassment. Fuyumi couldn't help but be happy that for once her little brother was experiencing something boys his age typical did. Deciding to help him instead of tease him she smiled gently at him.
"The best gift you can make her is a confession from your heart. Don't be afraid to let her know how you feel."
"Do you really think that she will return my feelings? I'm not really the best person." Shouto clenched his fist.
"Don't say that little brother." Fuyumi softly lay a hand over his clenched one and squeezed it gently until he met her eyes. "The way you grew up is not your fault. You're a great person and I'm sure Momo sees you for who you really are, an amazing young man."
"Thank you Fuyumi." Shouto smiled at her the slightest bit. It was still hard for him to express his emotions, but he was getting better at it around the people he loved.
The two talked for a bit more before Shouto stood up to leave.
"Good luck with your confession little brother. The next time you come home I want you to bring Momo with you so I can meet her." Fuyumi smiled brightly at her bother's blush before waving him off. He really deserved a person who he loved and who loved him back just as much. Fuyumi had a feeling that this person was Momo Yaoyorozu.
Christmas Eve was crazy at the dorms and every one of Shout's tries to get a quiet moment with Momo failed. Dejected he went on the rooftop to get a little bit of peace away from the celebration. It was cold, at least that was what everyone had been saying the last few days. He never felt cold thanks to his quirk so even now in the middle of the night he didn't feel cold on the top of the building. He took a deep breath and looked out on the shining city in front of him. Often enough he came up here and looked out on the city he wanted to be a hero for, but tonight it looked so peaceful that it wouldn't need a hero.
"Shouto?" A soft voice pulled him out of his thoughts.
There on the entrance to the door stood Momo. She wore a warm coat and was holding a small wrapped packet in her arms. When she slowly stepped closer to him he could see that her cheeks were slightly red.
"I have a present for you, I hope you like it." Hesitantly she gave him the packet.
Carefully he unwrapped the gift. His eyes widened when he saw what he was now hold in his hands.
"You made me a sweater?" He asked softly while inspecting the blue cloth.
"I created a wool that is fireproof and then asked Ochako to teach me knitting. It's probably not really good, but I tried my best. I could have created it, but I wanted to do it this way because it felt more personal. I apologize in advance, it's surely not good and-"
"It's perfect. I really like it." He stopped Momo's rambling. To prove his point he pulled off his sweater and put her handmade one on. When he turned back to Momo he noticed that her cheeks were bright red and she had turned away from him. "Doesn't it look good on me?" He asked confused.
"No, it looks great on you, I just didn't think you would change into it in front of me." Momo stuttered, still blushing brightly.
Shouto blushed as well. He hadn't even thought about it, but changing in front of a girl was probably not proper.
"I have something for you as well. My sister gave me the advice that the best gifts come from the heart. My gift for you is a confession from my heart." He stepped closer to Momo and took her hands in his. "I really like you. Romantically." He added the last part to make sure that there were no misunderstandings.
"Really?" Her eyes were watering and when the first tear slipped down her cheek Shouto panicked.
"I didn't mean to make you cry. If you don't feel the same it's okay-"
Now it was Momo who interrupted him, but not with words. He saw her move before he felt a soft pressure on his lips. Before he could really realize that Momo was kissing him she pulled away.
"I'm crying because I'm happy. I really like you too Shouto." With her words another tear slipped down her cheek, but this time Shouto gently wiped it away.
"I'm glad." He smiled at her before letting his heart speak again, this time not with words. Slowly he leaned down and kissed her softly. His sister really gave the best advice. His confession from the heart would make this the best Christmas he had ever experienced.
A/N: Merry Christmas :)
