I decided to do a little AU and I apologise if anyone reading this works for an Airline and saying I am doing all of this wrong. Hope you can forgive me for how bad this story is worded.
-.-
She straightened the hat on her dark hair that was pushed back and looked really tidy which was what they needed to do. She put her blazer on and done the buttons up and she straightened the wings on her blazer before clearing her throat.
This was her dream job and she had wanted to do this for a long time. Molly has been in this job for over three years now and every time she was at work it was exciting because she was travelling the world.
She had worked hard to get this job and she wasn't going to screw this up at all.
The flight she would be on was going to Miami, Florida, and she has got her swim suits ready to spend some time on the beach and just let her hair down a little without getting in to too much trouble.
She grabbed the spare key on the way out of the bedroom and then her suitcase before making sure that everything had been turned off before she left the flat, Molly dropped her keys off with the lovely neighbour because she would come in and check everything. She had known her for years and trusted her a hell of a lot.
The trip to the Airport wasn't rushed or anything but that was down to the fact she was super early anyway. She parked her car up in the staff carpark and just about got out her car when one of the girls that she would be on the flight came up to her, her name being Maria, she was a redhaired and had to get up extra early to tame it because it was also curly and she would straighten it every morning to get it the way it was.
She said that she had got it from her dad's side of the family, and while Molly was imagining a man with red curly hair Maria had put a stop to that and said that it was his mother that had had the curly hair. Her sister would do the same before school, where as Maria didn't care about it before.
"Miami, baby, you excited?" Maria asked her with a wide smile on her face. She was more than a little excited as she can probably tell. "Beaches, cocktails and a hot new Captain to take us there"
Molly rolled her eyes as she got the suitcase out the boot and shut her car back up making sure that it was safe. It was only for a few days and the staff here at the Airport made sure that everything was safe. "You have a husband at home, surely you can leave the new Captains alone"
"Actually I said it just for you" they walked together across the car park and showed their ID's before going to their own work room.
The two pilots, both Captains to help the new guy, were talking to each other and Molly knew the first one his name was Jamie Ashford he was in his 40s and a very good looking man but the man he was talking to. Well he was definitely handsome. Molly just only caught what Maria had said before she was being pulled in the direction of the two men.
"Good morning, Captains" Maria grinned as they stood with the two men. They had flown with Captain Ashford a few times and knew how he worked, pretty much, but the new Captain was going to have to tell them exactly how he liked things. She could see Molly looking at the new Captain.
"Ladies, this is Captain Charles James" Jamie spoke and then indicated the man who was stood in front of him. "Charles, this is Molly Dawes and Maria Smith"
"It's nice to meet you, ladies" he said and then saw Molly and smiled a bit before he looked back at his work partner. "So, Miami, I'm sure you've been before" Charles spoke to the both of them.
"A couple times and I always love it" Molly spoke "the hot weather, the beaches, makes the weather here look like it's constantly winter" she teased softly and then cleared her throat and just about caught Maria and Jamie looking at each other with smiles.
They have been trying to set her up a few times but she never bit so watching her practically flirt with the new Captain pleased them both but then she went back to protocol. "Anyway we'll let you get back to finding out what you need" she then smiled and pulled Maria away from the both of them and she didn't dare look back because she knew that Captain James was watching her and she didn't want to lock eyes with him after that trainwreck of an introduction.
"She's single you know" Jamie spoke to him and then Charles shrugged up a shoulder.
"I didn't ask" he drank his coffee; he might not have asked but it was interesting to know.
"How are you holding up, nervous? After all you will be then ready to pilot your own team after this one, this is your last flight under my command"
Charles smiled "A little nervous definitely but I will be ok" he didn't want to sound too over confident because that would make him look cocky and most people who acted like that ended up making a mistake and with peoples lives on the line there was no room for error.
-.-
They all headed to the plane and the two Captains headed off into the cockpit and the cabin crew put their stuff away before they started to check the plane out to make sure that seats were upright, that none of the cleaners had left anything behind, they made sure that they had everything they would need for the nearly nine hour flight to America.
"I'll do the walk around" Jamie said and got up from his seat and then grabbed his coat before heading out of the cockpit, leaving the door open while no passengers were on the plane.
Molly looked up when one of the Captains moved passed her and back out the doorway, descending the stairs as he did. So she knocked on the door of the cockpit and once she heard the other Captain tell her to come in she walked in. "What will you be wanting during the flight, sir?"
"Coffee and whatever the special is for dinner" he smiled at her. She was pretty but like she had told Captain Ashford he was here to do a job not to flirt with the cabin crew but he knew there were some people that would jump right in and ask her out so quickly that her head would spin at the thought of it. But Charles didn't want to be known as one of those Captains.
"Sir" she smiled and walked out the cockpit and Charles shook his head, rolling his eyes at the same time and grabbing the checklist from the side pocket.
Molly wrote down what Captain James would want before she was tapped on the shoulder and looked over to see Maria there. "Did you ask him out?"
"What is it with you and me asking this guy out? I don't know him, yes he's cute... hot but we are working together and that's the last thing I want to do, dating a Captain"
Maria smirked "Who said anything about dating?" she shrugged a shoulder before walking down the aisle and heading to the back of the plane.
Once they had checked everything, made sure that the plane was completely working and the other Captain came back onto the plane they accepted the passengers and she couldn't help but let her eyes turn to the cockpit door where the two guys were on the otherside of it their sole focus on getting the passengers safely from A to B.
Jamie was calling out demands and Charles was pressing the buttons or turning dials and making sure that everything worked because every pilot loves a safe and working plane.
There was a knock on the door of their cockpit and Charles checked the camera to see that it was one of their team and he pressed the button to allow them in. The woman was a blonde, Emma, he thinks her name was, and she told them that there was 243 passengers on board and that everyone was accounted for which was a first.
"Thank you" Charles smiled and Emma walked back out the door and he locked it up.
Molly shut the door up, which was a task all on it's own because the damn thing was heavy but she got the door shut every time, in training they made sure that the cabin crew could shut the door. In fact it was a test all on it's own and once the door was shut and then watched as the stairs disappeared.
She preferred the afternoon flights to the night flights because looking out the window you could see properly where they were going where as the night flights were a lot harder to make out things especially the water.
Putting what Maria had said out of her mind she went back to work and once they were taxiing back from their spot the matter was forgotten all completely as she done her job. She done the demonstration, along with Matt, while Emma read it out and she smiled when she could see Matt making faces to the little kids and while that might sound unprofessional she knew that anything but unprofessional.
Then they were up in the air and on their way to Miami.
She couldn't wait to get on to the beach and have those cocktails and with it being the height of summer she knew that it was going to be boiling over there.
