The sun started blaring through the window, because like an idiot he had forgotten to close the curtains. He rubbed his eye with the palm of his left hand and it was only when he started to wake up that he could smell the scent of Lavender shampoo and he dropped his hand and looked over to see that Molly was sleeping next to him.

Strands of her dark hair had fallen around her face and he reached over and moved them back to behind her ear but making sure that he didn't wake her up.

This. Was. Bad.

He couldn't do this again, he couldn't let his temptations get in the way of trying to stay away from women who could break his heart.

With that Charles quietly and gently got out the bed and put some clothes on before he walked in to the bathroom unaware that Molly was already awake and had been for a little while. He turned the water on and once again got out his clothes and into the hot water.

Molly was glad when the water turned on because it meant that she could roll over onto her other side and grab her clothes. She quickly put everything back on and on tip toes she walked around the room grabbing her heels and her handbag before she walked out the door, quietly shutting that too. She only prayed that Maria was still asleep because she was going to get smarky hell for this.

She walked down the hallway and looked through her handbag for her room key and was having a panic attack because she couldn't find it only to have it hiding in a compartment and Molly breathed a sigh of relief but now she was going to slip in to her room and hope that she wasn't caught.

Molly put the key in to the card reader and the door opened but darkness met her which meant that the curtains were still closed and Maria was still asleep which she was so glad for. She hoped that her friend was pissed to the point she didn't even know that Molly hadn't come back the night before.

She let the door shut quietly behind her and then she tiptoed down the little hall and into the room. As she expected Maria was laid on her stomach fast asleep and with the Molly grabbed her towels and some clothes before she too headed in to the bathroom to have a hot shower to herself without Maria banging on the door.

When Charles came out of the shower he saw that Molly was gone and he was two halves, one part of him feeling a little glad but the other half feeling disappointed in the fact that she had left without saying goodbye.

Though what could they really say to each other? He was the Captain of their plane and while it wasn't unusual for Captains to sleep with their work colleagues he didn't really want this spreading around the plane.

His phone started dancing across the bedside cupboard again and he just wanted to ignore it but he knew Rebecca and he knew that in the end she wouldn't go away.

It has been a long time since he let someone in to his heart thanks to what happened with Rebecca. Charles decided that he was going to get dressed and have his first coffee of the day before he even tackled the call from his ex girlfriend.

-.-

The phone started going again and he sighed and then picked it up "What do you want Rebecca" he really hoped that this cost her a lot because it would be karma for her after she has tried getting hold of him the last couple days.

"Oh, you finally answer then" the snotty voice came from the other end, that was his ex.

"I am working, I haven't been able to answer it" Charles retorted back at her.

"No, it's a holiday for you"

Charles knew that he shouldn't have answered the damn call, she was already doing his damn head in and he wanted more than anything to put the phone down on her but he would never get the answer to his question if he did that. "I will ask again, what do you want?"

"Where's the spare key to the house, I can't find it" Rebecca was looking at the red door and she wanted to get in but she couldn't find where he had left that damn key. She had gone to the usual places that they had hid the key but it wasn't there and she had been coming back for the last couple of days trying her damn hardest to get in.

"Why are you trying to get in to my house?"

"Our house, and I want to get in because Scott chucked me out and this is the only place I know to come to stay"

Charles laughed and moved the phone away from ear but gripped hold of the phone and put the top of it to his forehead before making an angry face. There was no way in hell she was going to get back in to the house because A he had changed the locks years ago and B because the only other key was with his parents and they would never hand the key over to Rebecca so it looks like she was going to have to stay in her car. He put the phone back to his ear "Did you cheat again?"

"No, he found someone else" she admitted after a moment and she knew just what Charles was going to say next.

"Well karma really is a bitch and no you're not getting back in to the house so it looks like you're going to have to stay somewhere else"

"Charlie, please I don't have anywhere else to go"

"Tough, looks like you're sleeping in the car tonight or did he take that too?"

"You wouldn't do that to me, I know you I know that you wouldn't leave me to sleep in the car"

"Goodbye Rebecca" Charles said and ended the call. There was no way in hell that he was going to let her back in to his house.

He went to put the phone in to the pocket of his jeans when there was a message on there from Rebecca that said: Fine i'll break in.

Charles rolled his eyes and then ignored her message because to be honest he just wanted to get through today and then the next day he would be heading back to the cold UK and he would deal with Rebecca then but for today they were going sightseeing on a bus around Miami and he was looking forward to it.

-.-

They all grabbed breakfast before they headed out and they were gone for most of the day. They even stopped off at the Aquarium because why the hell not, right? All that time he tried to get Molly alone so that they could talk but she wasn't having any of it. She would make sure that there was always someone with her and it was getting a little frustrating. Even if they really shouldn't be talking about this while they were with the others.

They got back on the bus and headed back to the hotel and Molly decided that she wanted to walk along the beach, Maria wanted to videocall her husband so they went their own ways and this was Charles' chance to actually speak with Molly.

"Are you ignoring me?" Charles asked as he came to her side, Molly had her shoes in her hands and letting her toes feel the warm sand.

There was a breeze and it was blowing her dark hair around and she tried everything, while keeping hold of her shoes, to stop her hair from falling across her face but even that didn't seem to matter it got there anyway. Molly stopped and looked at him "I don't know" she admitted.

Last night had been a shock to her she had never expected to sleep with her Captain, in fact she hadn't expected to do a lot of things but sleeping with him had definitely been up there. Molly bit down on her lip for a moment and she looked out over the water.

"Have you been hurt too?" Charles asked and he watched her looking out at the water. He wasn't sure if now was the right time to be speaking about this but if she had been hurt aswell then it would explain why she was very reserved when it came to sleeping with him or it could be the fact she doesn't do this thing at all.

"Too?" Molly looked over at him at that and pushed her eyebrows together in question. He had been hurt? Molly had expected him to be the one doing the hurting and not the other way around.

Charles pointed to a spot a little bit down the beach where it was empty and he would explain there and as they walked he was trying to find a way to explain Rebecca and he wasn't sure how it would come out.

They sat down on the beach and Molly put her shoes next to her before she looked over at him once more.

"I was nineteen when I met Rebecca, she was this beautiful girl that worked at the cinema and she was bouncy and always had a smile on her face" he put his hand in to the sand and let his fingers disappear underneath it. The sand was warm on his skin and he was thankful of that because this time tomorrow they would be sitting on a plane heading back to the cold UK. "I fell in love with her straight away"

Charles sighed "We had our ups and downs like every couple and then we decided to get our first flat and it was this dingy little thing but we didn't care because it was ours and we loved being together and then we decided to buy a two bedroom house" he was sure this was awkward for Molly to hear but she had wanted to hear it. "I had a best friend" Molly knew where this was going as soon as he said those words "he was someone I had known my whole life, his name was Scott and we were instant friends and I had this buddy that gave things to me straight"

And by the sounds of it gave it to her straight too Molly thought.

"I asked Rebecca to marry me about five years ago and I was in and out of the country as a First Officer so we decided to wait for a while to get married and I was fine with that because I loved her and we could wait, I came back early one time and stupidly didn't tell her and I found them in bed together and she admitted that for the last three years of our relationship she had been sleeping with my best friend"

Yep sounds like a very common story, man goes away so woman ends up with the best friend she thought and then looked down at the sand.

"And that was a couple years ago now and the kicker is that she now wants to get back in to the house because Scott has done the same thing to her and it's karma"

"Are you going to let her back in? I mean I think you would be an idiot to do so but it is your life" Molly gave a slight shrug because at the end of the day it was him that would have to deal with the crap that came from letting an ex back in to his life and his house.

"No, god no, I'm not letting her back in" he turned and looked at her properly. "Rebecca hurt me to the core and there is no way I am going to let that manipulative woman back in to my life"

Molly couldn't help but smile at that because at least he wasn't going to have to deal with her again but something told her that this wasn't the end and she had pretty good instincts when it came to things like this. "I don't think it's truly over for you and her, something is off and I don't even know this woman but I don't want to get in the middle of that but no, I haven't been hurt I just know when to not get in too deep with men who have baggage" and with that she grabbed her shoes and stood up.

"The only baggage I have is the lot in my room, I don't care about Rebecca anymore" he stood up and made sure that she was looking at him. "You have to believe me when I say that it's over"

Molly sighed and shook her head slightly before she let her eyes look up at him. He was tall compared to her but that didn't stop her from looking up at him, even if it hurt her neck a little bit, "It might be over for you but Rebecca knew who to call, she knew where she had to be and who would save her once things got shit she keeps playing you and even though you said it was over she will play me too if I let her so last night was fun but it was a one time thing" she turned away and then started walking up the beach.

Charles kicked some sand out of frustration but in a way he could understand because his ex was definitely up to something. He watched the girl who had made him laugh walk away from him and there was nothing he could do about it.

He finally made it back to the hotel once Molly had disappeared from his view and once he got back to his room he looked in the mirror "Fucking idiot"

Her heart was pounding hard in her chest as she shut the door and she leaned against it with her eyes closed as she remembered her own boyfriend walking out the door "No, I haven't been hurt" she muttered to herself and tried to calm down over that fact.
