As soon as she had told her driver where to take her Lena became quiet and, for the first time during the busy day, she remembered that she had no idea how to act within a family setting and that she might just make a fool of herself, that the others might not like her because she is a Luthor or that she was dressed wrongly or had bought the wrong presents. Lena could feel her heartbeat quicken as all these thoughts were racing through her mind and all she could do was try and calm herself down by taking several deep breaths. It didn't really help and her driver had to call her name several times before his voice penetrated her preoccupation and she realized they had arrived at Kara's apartment building.
Lena thanked her driver and he quickly got out to help her with the bags containing the presents. Then Lena made her way to the door and found it was unlocked. So she proceeded inside and took the elevator and moments later she found herself outside Kara's front door. Taking a deep breath she set one of the bags down and knocked before picking the bag up again. Before Lena knew it the door opened and she got a glimpse of Kara's smile before the reporter threw her arms around Lena's neck, hugging her tightly. The CEO would have dearly loved to return the hug but with her hands full that was impossible. Kara seemed to realize this because she let go and stepped back.
"Lena! It's so good to see you! Come on in and let me take these", she said excitedly and made to relieve Lena of the bags.
