The Casagrandes: Dream of a Red Christmas
Great Lakes City was abuzz with activity one snowy December. With Christmas fast approaching, everyone in the city refused to let anything dampen their joyous spirit. Whether it was snow drifts, the occasional holiday party foul, miserly residents, hypothermia or even the undead that lurked about threatening to eat people alive. The Casagrande family no different. Let's check on them now.
"Finally. It's about time you got hat tree." Hector told his son and grandsons as they unloaded the tree from the flatbed truck.
"Dad let me chop it down." CJ beamed cheerfully.
"This is without a doubt objectively the best one. I checked." Carlos said. "By the way, did you know...?"
"Yeah, yeah. Save your tree facts later, Dad." Carl groaned. "Let's just get this thing inside so I can brush all these needles out of my hair."
Just then, they heard gurgled screaming quickly. They turned quickly and saw four zombies making a mad dash for them. Hector quickly shot one in the head, Carl pulled out a bat and smashed a second's head in, CJ decapitated a third with the ax, and Carlos kicked the fourth to the ground before skewering its head with the base of the base of the tree. As they did, they heard a high-pitched scream come from the store.
"Seriously, Bobby?!" Hector groaned. "How are you still not used to this?"
"They're scary." Bobby whimpered.
"Good Lord." Carl sighed.
Meanwhile, Ronnie Anne was watching TV with Sid who had bloody sledgehammer with her.
"Is it just me or have the zombies been increasing since winter rolled around?" Sid said.
"Yeah. Weird." Ronnie Anne replied.
Just then, Maria came in, carrying a blood-stained machete. She was then followed by the boys carrying the tree before they set it down on a stand.
"Whoa, Mom. What happened to you?" Ronnie asked.
"Some of the bodies in the morgue turned and I had to do what I had to." Maria explained.
"That makes sense." Sid remarked.
"Perfect! The tree's here!" Frida cheerd in delight. "Now we can get to decorating."
"Mom, have you seen my eyeliner?" Carlota asked, carrying Carlitos.
Carl whistled innocently and tried his best to slink away only for his sister to lift him up by his hoodie.
"Oh no you don't!" She hissed.
"Heads up! Zombie at 6 o'clock!" Sergio squawked as he flew by.
Indeed, there was a zombie that was trying to climb its way throuh the window. Carlota put her baby brother down and walked up to Sid.
"Can I borrow the sledgehammer?" She requested.
"Be my guest." Sid replied.
With that, she picked up the hammer and knocked the zombie back outside, sending it plummeting onto the pavement andpath of an oncoming snowplow.
"Sweet! Double whammy!" Ronnie exclaimed.
"Thanks." Carlota said.
"Alright, everyone. The cookies are done!" Roda announced as she walked into the kitchen with a steaming plate of cookies. "Careful, they're still hot."
The kids cheered and clamored around the table eagerly wanting to to get some. It brought Rosa such joy to see so many people enjoying the treats she made them and a another zombie trying to climb in through the window wouldn't spoil this as she shot it in the head with a crossbow.
Yes sir, something tells me they are going to have a very Merry (and very bloody) Christmas.
