SAN FRANCISCO

One year ago today, 3 worlds merged together as a result from 3 villains trying to take over their individual worlds in one swoop. But their plan failed and resulted in opening a portal to the new god Darkseid, where he began to try and invade. But he was stopped by the 3 superhero teams and the day was one. Now as the United Heroes, they protect the world from any type of threat and have bases set up all over the world and on this day now known as Unity day, they open their new base of operations to the world. As quinjets filled with excited civilians landed on the newly built helicarrier which was manufactured by Stark Wayne enterprises, a certain blue hedgehog was running through the city on his way to the event. He still couldn't believe that this was happening, he has become one of the founding members of the United Heroes and has made new friends in this new world known only as New Mobiearth. As he sped onto the helicarrier, a crowd of his fans saw the blue blur and started chanting his name. Normally he would soak in all the glory but he was late for a meeting, as usual. He sped into the conference room and took a seat, everyone looked at him.

SONIC: What?

TONY: You're late spikeball.

SONIC: Aren't I always?

TONY: Ugh, anyway let's get started.

SUPERMAN: Right, you said something about your scientific group needing to show us something?

TONY: Right, you two can enter now.

Then two scientists entered the room, they were named George Tarleton and Monica Rappaccini. They were the two leading experts on the helicarriers new power source.

GEORGE: Right, thank you for being here. We may have found something.

MONICA: Yes, we believe we have found a problem with our power source.

SONIC: Excuse me, but I keep forgetting, what was the thing called again. Merrigan or something like that?

TONY: Terrigen, Blue Mickey Mouse. Anyways continue.

GEORGE: Right, as we were saying, there is still so much more we don't know about Terrigen and like I have said to you Mr. Stark, the amount of power the Helicarrier needs could overload the Terrigen and could result in catastrophic events.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Like what?

MONICA: We don't know, but it won't be anything good.

SUPERMAN: If I may ask, Tony didn't you say this power source was safe? Why are we just hearing about this now?

TONY: I said, somewhat safe. And secondly I thought it was nothing, I ran the tests and if my calculations were correct, which they are, we have nothing to worry about.

SONIC: But the risk is still too big for my liking.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: If there is a small chance that people can get hurt, then maybe we should rethink this.

TONY: No listen, look. If there is a slim and I mean slim chance that people will get hurt, then we'll handle it. We are the United Heroes, we beat Darkseid for God's sakes. We can handle this easily, so please, I need you all on this.

SONIC: Alright tin man, I guess you're right. I mean we are the United Heroes after all. We can handle it.

SUPERMAN: I'm still on the edge about all this. But I'm with you Stark.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: I trust you Tony, always have and always will.

TONY: Thank you. Now come on, the ceremony is about to start.

As they left George spoke with Monica.

GEORGE: What are they thinking!?

MONICA: George, it will be fine. All we need to do is keep it stable, alright.

GEORGE: Alright, I still think this is a bad idea.

Outside on the outside hangar area was where a large group of people were gathered and in front of them was a stage. Then a voice was projected over the intercom.

TONY: HELLO SAN FRANCISCO! WHO'S READY TO UNITE!

As he said that, Sonic sped onto the stage and took a bow. Then Superman floated down onto the stage and waved at everyone. Then Cap walked onto the stage, then gave a salute to everyone. Lastly, the intercom started playing Thunderstruck by AC/DC and fireworks started flying from the stage. Then in the sky Iron Man flew onto the stage and landed in a superhero landing pose. He then got up and started to speak.

TONY: ARE YOU ENJOYING YOURSELVES OR WHAT!?

As the crowd cheered there was an explosion heard in the distance originating from the Golden Gate Bridge, everyone looked over in worry and horror. The heroes saw this and Cap pulled out his ID card and relayed a message.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: This is Captain America to all available heroes nearby SAN Francisco, we need assistance immediately.

Just as he said that, The Flash raced right up on stage beside Cap while Shadow teleported next to him. Then using the Watchtower teleportation device, Black Widow and Batman arrived on stage as well.

SHADOW: What's this about?

Sonic then pointed to the explosion and showed them what was happening. Then Cap gave the orders.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Superman, Tony check it out.

SUPERMAN: On it.

TONY: Try to keep up.

As they flew away, another explosion was heard at the end of the bridge, Cap ordered Sonic and Shadow to investigate, they then sped off to the explosion.

Then Cap ordered everyone to find some way of getting to the bridge and everyone obliged. Flash zoomed over there with incredible speeds, while Batman and Black Widow took a quinjet and flew over there.

Meanwhile with Superman and Tony, Superman quickly caught up to Tony.

SUPERMAN: Were you waiting?

TONY: Uh… yeah.

Then several more explosions were seen at the bridge.

TONY: This just got a whole lot more interesting.

They then flew to the bridge. Meanwhile on the edge of the bridge, several armed men were about to shoot some civilians but were quickly disarmed by Sonic and Shadow with their spin dash attacks which sent the armed men flying into a stationary bus.

SONIC: Is everyone ok?

CIVILIAN: Y...yes. Thank you both.

SHADOW: You're welcome. Now GO!

And with that the civilians made their escape. Just then Sonic and Shadow heard several gunshots a few metres away. They ran to investigate and saw a bunch of police officers in a gunfight with more armed men. They decided to act fast, Sonic spin dashed a few of them away while Shadow used his chaos spear attack to disarm the assailants and then teleported behind them and knocked them out.

POLICE: Thank you guys, there are civilians trapped on the other side of those barricades.

SHADOW: Understood, stay behind us.

SONIC: Yeah, we'll save them.

Sonic then approached the barricade but then was suddenly spin dashed into a bus. Before Shadow could react he was grabbed by a metal clawed hand and shoved into the ground. Sonic looked up to see his attacker to be none other than his green counterpart, Scourge.

SCOURGE: Heya Blue, been a while.

SONIC: Scourge, last time I saw you I tricked into de powering from your super form.

That statement enraged the green hedgehog which resulted in the two hedgehogs spin dashing each other. Shadow saw his attacker to be Metal Sonic who has been missing since the fight at the Ice Cap Zone. The two then charged at each other with extreme force. Back at the ceremony, everyone was in panic, but this was stoked even more by a gunshot originating from the stage. It came from the gun that was owned by the villain from Gotham, Two-Face. As soon as the shot was heard everyone fell silent.

TWO-FACE: ALRIGHT BOYS, MAKE SURE NO ONE GETS IN OR OUT, ESPECIALLY SOMEONE DRESSED LIKE A BAT!

Then a horde of armed men arrived and guarded the place to make sure a certain Gotham vigilante was not getting in or out.

Back on the bridge, Flash was quickly getting everyone off the bridge. When he got the last person off he was quickly kicked onto the ground by something fast. The kick was from none other than The Reverse Flash.

REVERSE FLASH: They said you couldn't resist a good crisis.

THE FLASH: Eobard Thawne? You don't belong here.

REVERSE FLASH: And miss the return of Barry Allen.

Then the two speedsters ran off into the distance while exchanging punches to one another while running. Flash threw Thawne into a car but then Thawne kicked Flash into another car, then he punched him in the jaw and carried him while running. He then threw him on the ground.

REVERSE FLASH: I travelled a long way to hurt you Barry, but this time line it's all wrong.

FLASH: So go back to your own time Reverse Flash!

Thawne then kicked Flash in the gut.

REVERSE FLASH: Do you think I haven't tried? When the three worlds merged together it did something to the speed force, which prevents me from time travelling. I can never go home, but at least I get to HURT YOU!

Then the two speedsters ran off to continue their fight.

Meanwhile on the quinjet the two heroes received a message.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Attention we have hostages at the ceremony, they are being held by Harvey Dent.

BATMAN: Two-Face.

BLACK WIDOW: What do we do?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Batman, we could really use your help.

BATMAN:On my way.

BLACK WIDOW: Wait, do you need a parachute?

BATMAN: No.

And with that, Batman glided out of quinjet to stop Two-Face. Back at the ceremony Two-Face had someone at gunpoint ready to kill them, but the only thing stopping him is his coin.

TWO-FACE: Let's let the coin decide if you're worthy of living.

He then flipped his coin but just as it was about to land in his hand, a batarang intercepted it and knocked it away.

TWO-FACE: WHAT THE…

Just as he said that he was kicked in the face by Batman, which knocked him out. The armed guards stared at him in fear.

BATMAN: If you don't want what happened to him to happen to you, drop your guns.

The guards obliged and dropped their weapons. Back on the quinjet Black Widow saw the helicarrier begin to take off.

BLACK WIDOW: Cap the helicarrier isn't supposed to be taking off what's happening.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: I don't know Nat, someone has hijacked the controls.

BLACK WIDOW: Alright, I'm heading back.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Negative. Secure the bridge, I'll handle this.

Just as Cap said that a black tendril grabbed him and tossed him aside. He looked to see the symbiotic spider himself, Venom.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Venom.

VENOM: CAPTAIN ROGERS, WE CAN'T WAIT TO EAT YOUR FACE OFF

With a battle cry Cap and Venom began their fight. Cap threw his shield at Venom but he caught it and threw it back. But Cap caught it and threw some punches at Venom, they made contact with him. Venom threw a tendril at Cap, but Cap saw this and let the tendril hit him and as Venom was pulling Cap towards him, Cap kicked him in the face which in turn launched them both out of the Helicarrier and into the water.

Back on the bridge, Black Widow has arrived on the bridge but Tony has some bad news.

TONY: Oh my god, are you kidding me?

BLACK WIDOW: What is it?

TONY: A Sonic Bomb has arrived on the bridge, I thought the UN outlawed those years ago.

BLACK WIDOW: I guess someone didn't get the memo.

Then suddenly a massive truck then barged through a bunch of cars. Tony saw this and used his unibeam to take out the engine. The truck stopped and the driver exited the vehicle and Black Widow recognised him immediately.

BLACK WIDOW: Taskmaster.

Taskmaster then held a detonator in his hand and activated it which in turn activated the Sonic Bomb. He then activated his jet pack and flew off. When the Sonic Bomb activated it resulted in the bridge's cables starting to disconnect.

BLACK WIDOW: TONY, SUPERMAN THE CABLES. I'll handle the freak with the detonator. Taskmaster then flew off with Black Widow in pursuit.

TASKMASTER: ROMANOFF! FROM ONE FORMER SHIELD AGENT TO ANOTHER, KEEP UP.

Black Widow then jumped off the bridge and onto Taskmaster.

BLACK WIDOW: I got a new move for you. It's called kicking your ass!

Back with Scourge and Sonic, Sonic had knocked him out while Shadow had deactivated Metal Sonic.

SONIC: Nice work Shadz.

SHADOW: How many times have I told you not to call me that?

Then Shadow noticed something in the water, he told Sonic and they went to investigate. When they got down there, they saw Cap exiting the water.

SONIC: CAP? What happened?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Venom was on the helicarrier and I fought him off.

SHADOW: Venom? That can't be a coincidence. We just fought Scourge and Metal Sonic.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: That is suspicious.

SONIC: You know what I think.

SHADOW: Let me guess, a chilli dog.

SONIC: No, I'm thinking that this was all a diversion.

SHADOW: From what?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: The reactor.

SONIC: Exactly.

SHADOW: What's this? Sonic using his brain for once?

SONIC: Shut up Shadow.

Back with The Flash and The Reverse Flash, Flash had Thawne pinned against the wall with his hand vibrating.

REVERSE FLASH: Go on, end it.

The Flash hesitates.

REVERSE FLASH: END IT!

The Flash's hand stops vibrating.

REVERSE FLASH: What's stopping you. Oh I forgot, Barry Allen is above killing. Isn't that right?

Flash let's go of Thawne's neck.

FLASH: Get out of here.

Thawne begins to walk off.

REVERSE FLASH: See you in our next crisis Flash.

And with that Thawne ran off.

Back with Widow and Taskmaster, they both crashed down onto the bridge.

BLACK WIDOW: Aww did I break your little jet pack?

TASKMASTER: Doesn't matter I have this.

He held the detonator in his hand.

BLACK WIDOW: Damnit. Hand it over!

TASKMASTER: Come and get it!

Black widow attacked Taskmaster but he countered it.

BLACK WIDOW: Taking your usual notes?

TASKMASTER: What?

BLACK WIDOW: Oh come on, the more I fight, the more you learn.

TASKMASTER: It's called photographic reflexes.

BLACK WIDOW: It's called unoriginal.

Widow saw this fight was getting nowhere and decided to end it.

BLACK WIDOW: You know what? I'm done with this.

Then she used her tech to turn invisible.

TASKMASTER: YOU COWARD!

Then she snuck behind him and roundhouses kicked him into some debris. She got the detonator and deactivated it.

TASKMASTER: You think you've won?

BLACK WIDOW: What the hell are you talking about?

TASKMASTER: Look around Romanoff. The world will remember this day, the day the heroes failed them.

She then knocked him out. Then when everyone else gathered to Widow's position, they all saw the helicarrier radiate a blue aura.

SUPERMAN: What's happening here?

BLACK WIDOW: Dammit they played us.

TONY: SCREW THIS!

He then flew off to the helicarrier with Superman following behind. But they were too slow and the aircraft exploded. The shockwave affected all of San Francisco and demolished the buildings inside the city.

TONY: No.

The city was in ruins and the day was lost. Taskmaster was right, the world would remember this day. The day their heroes failed them.
