After the first lot of lessons, Hiccup decided to inform Mimir about his vision. He told him everything from the mountain range where he and the others were standing on with Eret and Heather to the image of Ragnar running from something.

"Very interesting," said Mimir as he pondered. "Very interesting indeed."

"What does it mean?" Hiccup asked.

"I don't know."

There wasn't exactly the response Hiccup had been hoping for. "Don't you have some idea?"

"My boy speculating on images of the future has never gone down well," said Mimir. "There are multiple historical accounts of people trying to change their future of the moment they hear something ill will befall them. Martin and Navi just create the circumstances that lead to their downfall."

"So what I do nothing?" Hiccup frowned.

"I'm not saying that I'm just telling you that you cannot act upon the things you see. For instance, if you would see Ragnar is about to die, you would immediately rush off to save them, right?"

"Of course, I would what kind of question is that?"

"But you have no idea when or how he will die. What if rushing to find him would blow his cover and Johann and his underlings discovered him and killed him. Your actions could very well put him in danger."

Hiccup sighed. "So you're saying that I shouldn't just rush headlong in that I need to think things through."

"Exactly, prophecies are very difficult to predict and more often than not, they act only as guideposts. I myself can see into the future, but there are many possibilities some could delay Ragnarok for centuries other choices could accelerate it. I have to sit and contemplate about the best move possible, but even then, I sometimes get it wrong."

"Okay, whatever that crystal that Johann has my vision, it has to be important?"

"It most certainly is, but there are a number of magical crystals so finding out which one he's after will be a difficult thing indeed. I will, however, inform Lord Odin of this vision of yours, he'll know what to do."

Hiccup was rather disappointed, but he started to make his way back to the dorm.

When he got back to the dorm immediately informed acid and the others of his meeting with Mimir.

"So Johann is after a magical crystal," said Fishlegs.

"I don't know if it's magical, but it has to be important these after it," said Hiccup.

"What good could crystal do," Snotlout huffed.

Fishlegs rolled his eyes. "Snotlout, don't dwarfs sometimes use magical crystals when they create their creations?"

"I—shut up, Fishlegs," he muttered.

"But you said that Mimir told you to do nothing," said Astrid.

"He just doesn't want me to act before we know more," said Hiccup.

"Sounds like a new adventure on the horizon," said Ruffnut excitedly.

"Good, I was getting bored with school," said Tuffnut.

Fishlegs looked at him. "It's only the first day."

"Feels like a month," Tuffnut muttered.

They then heard a giggle and turned their heads and saw Heather smiling at them.

"How long have you been standing there?" Astrid asked.

"Long enough," she said.

Astrid narrowed her eyes. "And what exactly did you hear?"

"Astrid, it wouldn't have mattered if I was on the other side of the school I could still hear your conversation," said Heather folding her arms.

"Because of your father," Fishlegs concluded. "You inherited your father's sense of sight and hearing."

Heather nodded. "Which means I can hear and see things from miles around."

"Then I guess there's no point in keeping anything secret from you," Hiccup smiled.

"It's not like I meant to eavesdrop, but you guys are the talk of the town fully exploits last winter."

"Wasn't just us," said Astrid.

"Oh, I know. Now you mention in this vision you saw Johann with some kind of crystal."

"Yeah, what do you know about him?"

"Only that he is the hated adversarial your ancestor and a son of Loki, who is now looking to destroy the school. I also heard that he disguised himself as a merchant and befriended you guys."

"Not our proudest moment," Astrid muttered.

"The new guy should know that I have heard some whisperings back home," she said as she sat down.

"What kind of whispers?" Astrid asked, now looking intrigued.

Heather looked around to make sure that they weren't overheard and then leaning towards them. "There are some insalubrious characters that wish to overthrow the Queen."

"What?" they gasped.

"You're certain," said Hiccup.

"It's no secret that my people and the Light Elves have never gotten along, but the Queen is trying to change that. There are plans for an arranged marriage between her daughter and a Light Elf."

"You're joking," Astrid stared.

Heather shook her head. "I'm being honest."

Fishlegs' eyes widened. "That kind of union could end hostilities between both tribes of elves."

"Yes, but clearly not many are happy with the prospect," said Hiccup looking at Heather. "Otherwise they wouldn't be a rebellion, right?"

Heather sighed. "I'm afraid so, many of my people hate our cousins even though we don't know why and as such they think the Queen is weak. I suspect that Johann might have something to do with fanning the flames and providing them with weapons."

"Both tribes of elves joined together during Ragnarok, who knows what would happen," said Astrid. "No one really knows what the elves will do during Ragnarok along with the dwarfs."

"And you can bet that Loki doesn't want both tribes on Odin's side when the time comes," said Hiccup.

"Yeah, our mum, we do anything to prevent that from happening," said Ruffnut.

"Maybe that's why Johann is after this crystal to end the union?" Tuffnut suggested.

"He could be onto something," said Fishlegs.

Hiccup held out his hands. "Look until we find out more or this is speculation, and Mimir's has made his position very clear to us."

"So we're just going to sit around and do nothing?" Snotlout grunted.

"We can do with the extra training," said Hiccup.

"You heard the man," said Astrid.

With that, everyone made their way into bed, and when Hiccup laid his head on his pillow, he immediately began dreaming.

Hiccup found himself in a dark forest similar to the one to the vision he had with Ragnar. Every tree in the forest had no leaves; it was like it was autumn, which it was, but this was like the middle of November. He noticed that there was no cloud in the night sky, and there was a full moon.

"Good, you're here," said a voice.

Hiccup jumped quickly spun around and found Ragnar standing behind him. "Rag? What are you doing in my dream?"

"I'm the one who brought you here," said Ragnar.

Hiccup frowned. "Excuse me?"

"We're in a magical forest in Svartalfheim called the Dream Woods," Ragnar explained as if that made any sort of sense. "Just go with it."

"Rag what's going on?" Hiccup asked. "Astrid mentioned that you send a raven to her to get me to the Academy."

"I did, and it looks like she succeeded."

"But why? And what are you doing in Svartalfheim?"

"Tracking down Johann, he's here for some reason."

Hiccup folded his arms. "Well, it could either because he's looking for a certain crystal or because he's trying to create an uprising."

Ragnar blinked. "How do you know of this?"

Hiccup quickly gave him the short story of the vision he had as well the conversation with Heather.

"So there's a Dark Elf in the academy now," said Ragnar.

"Yeah, that turned a few heads."

"I'm actually not too concerned about Heather, I think she might be an important asset. Am more concerned about this rebellion that you're telling me about."

"So what are you going to do now?"

"Going to do a little digging, I need to find out what Johann is planning."

Hiccup noticed that he was looking rather weak and remembered that Light Elves need constant sunlight.

"Rag, how long has it been since you've been in the sun?" Hiccup asked.

Ragnar sighed. "Svartalfheim is in constant darkness, but I'm fine. The light from the moon is stabilising me, believe it or not, it's always a full moon here."

Hiccup had to remember that each one of the Nine Worlds completely different from one another. They want exactly other planets they were more like other dimensions, and as a result, laws of nature was quite different. For instance, in Alfheim it was constant sunlight, but here in Svartalfheim who was constant night.

"So you're not in any kind of trouble?" Hiccup asked.

"No, I just got word that a Frost Giant was near you."

Hiccup wasn't certain whether he was talking about Big Boy or Eret but now was not really the time.

"So why did you summon?" Hiccup asked.

"Just to tell you not to go after," said Ragnar folding his arms. "I'm not in any danger yet, and you should keep up with your training. But it was you told me is true then you need to be ready, and the same goes for our friends. In the meantime, I'll find out more about this rebellion and more about this crystal that you described."

"So how can you stay connected to one another?" Hiccup asked.

"I can't guarantee that we will stay in contact, I only contacted you in order to make sure that you don't ruin anything."

Hiccup gave him a dry look. "Thanks for the vote of confidence."

"I didn't want to see you get killed or me for that matter. However, I will tell you this you can trust Heather, but you should know that she's not telling you the entire truth."

"What does that mean?"

"It means that she isn't one of Loki's spies no matter what you discover."

"Speaking of which any more word on our least favourites god?" Hiccup asked.

"He's still very much in contact with Johann that I cannot be certain whether he knows his location or not. I try not to get too close the last thing I want is to be discovered that the god of tricks."

"Anything I can pass along while here?" Hiccup asked.

"Just tell Mimir that my mission is still on track and you can confirm about the rebellions, but do not tell anyone else. If word gets out the rebellion, they may become desperate and launch a devastating attack on the Queen."

"Heather told me there was an arranged marriage between the Princess and a Light Elf, but who's the lucky groom?"

"To be honest, we don't even know if there will be a wedding as the plans are still on the drawing board. Let's just say that the chosen groom is close to my father."

Ragnar's father was Frey, the God of Summer and Lord of Alfheim. Unfortunately due to circumstances, Ragnar was banished from his home for a crime he did not commit. Ever since then, he had been working with the Academy recruiting new demigods and doing secret missions.

"But aren't the Light Elves against this idea?" Hiccup frowned.

"There are still many hurdles in the way, but you're forgetting that my people value peace more than anything else. This marriage could seal the deal, preventing any future wars between our people, so they're willing to stand the prospect."

Hiccup remembered his last visit to Alfheim, the Light Elves were like a bunch of hippies. He could only imagine what the average Dark Elf was like, and he had a feeling that Heather was not an average Dark Elf.

"So I guess that it's going to be a while before we meet each other in person," Hiccup assumed.

"Believe me I wish you were here as well, but we have different paths to tread."

"Just be careful."

"Hiccup, I've been doing this for 200 years I think by now I know how to be careful."

With that, the dream began to fade away and Hiccup workup in his own bed. He turned his head towards the clock on his bedside and saw that it was 6:12 and he just laid his head back on his pillow and began thinking about his conversation with Ragnar. He was relieved to find that his friend was all right, but now he was even more concerned about this Dark Elf rebellion.
