It was late evening in the Midoriya Family flat and quietly lying on the couch was a sleeping Izuku Midoriya.
It was a long day for the newly crowned hero, those who told him his first year as a hero/sidekick would be easy was a liar.
It was a peaceful moment for the young hero but that was ended when his ears picked up the sound of heart wrenching sobs from the room of his adopted daughter.
Izuku groaning sat up and listened again carefully, realising what the sounds were was up to his daughter's room in a flash all tiredness leaving his body.
Entering the room he sees Eri twisting, thrashing and turning in bed. He rushes to her side and gently wakes her.
She jolted awake and immediately latched on to him like her life depended on it.
"There, there baby. Daddy's here and he's gonna protect I promise."
Izuku said placing a comforting kiss on his daughter's forehead.
He glanced at the clock.
"Huh, it's 9pm I wonder where Kyo is?"
The day before this incident was a fun filled adventure as it was Eri's first snow day without the rest of 1-A and the U.A staff and Izuku was determined to make it the best for Eri.
Sadly Kyouka was called in for a time sensitive case and was forced to leave much to the little unicorn's dismay, but she promised to have a lot of fun with her tomorrow.
Izuku then felt his phone buzzing in his pocket snapping out of his daze and took it out to check.

Babe, I'm gonna be home late because of this case
I'll be back as soon as I can

Me and Eri miss you
Izuku had a small smile on his face reading the texts from his beautiful girlfriend.
"Where's mommy?"
Eri said cutely, with tears still brimming
"She's still at work, she'll be back soon"
Izuku said lying on her bed with her on his chest smiling at her
"But I want mommy..."
Eri said tearing up.
"I promise she'll be back soon, can you tell me what your nightmare was about sweetheart?"
Eri flinched at the question.
"It's okay, you don't need to-"
"You all left me... You said I was cursed... I was too stupid to learn my quirk... Th-tha-that you regr-regret saving me..."
Said mumbled out before bursting into tears again as the memories returned.
Izuku hugged her tightly again, the only thing he hated seeing more than Kyouka upset, was seeing his little angel upset.
Before she was thrown into his life when he saved her, he was reckless and went into everything head first.
There was little to no regard for his own life...
But now when Eri entered his life, when he was officially listed as her guardian... her parent it made him more cautious, he acted with his head because he made a promise.
A promise that he will be by her side no matter what and when Izuku Midoriya makes a promise he will keep it
Izuku sits up carefully with his daughter still in his arms.
"Eri, look at me beautiful... Please."
Slowly Eri lifts her head to look at her Papa.
"Listen, I will never leave you... It's because of you Mirio got his quirk back... It's because of you I can still use my arms... It's because of you me and mommy are together... Eri I will always be proud of you... Everything you do makes me proud... You smiling makes me proud because it shows me I am a good dad... I will never be able to stop loving you, you're my little angelic unicorn and I love you more than words can describe... Me and mommy will never abandon you ever"
He said holding her close.
"I love you papa..."
She says quietly into his chest.
"I love you too my little unicorn"
After a moment of silence, Izuku breaks it with a question
"Hey, Eri?"
She looks up with her bloodshot eyes from the emotional trip she went through.
"Hm?"
"What do you want to do until mommy comes back?"
She shrugged her shoulders.
"Uhmmm, can you sing for me?"
Izuku laughed a little.
"Of course sweetie, is it okay if I go and get my guitar?"
Eri nods.
Izuku sits her back on her bed and quickly goes to grab his guitar.
Finding it he returns and sits on the chair beside her bed tuning it.
"So any requests?"
Eri shook her head.
"Okay then, here's one I think you'll like, it helped me a lot and I think it'll do the same for you."
Izuku closes his eyes and begins to strum as he sings
"There was a time, I used to look into my father's eyes
In a happy home, I was a king I had a golden throne
Those days are gone, now the memories are on the wall
I hear the sounds from the places where I was born
Up on the hill across the blue lake
That's where I had my first heart break
I still remember how it all changed
My father said

Izuku opens his eyes and to his delight he sees his daughter with a serene smile and eyes closed rocking slowly to the song, he wished to see her more like that just blissfully calm and happy.
She had made strides since the time she didn't even know how to smile but Izuku knew there was still a long road until a full recovery and he vows to be by her side through it all.
There was a time, I met a girl of a different kind
We ruled the world,

I still hear the songs, reminding me of a friend

Izuku opened his eyes to Eri applauding him happily as he playfully bowed and thanked his wonderful audience.
And that was how the rest of the night went Izuku singing and goofing around and Eri laughing at his antics especially when he began singing Life is a Highway and being way too into the performance.
It was a lovely joyous domestic moment and Izuku would probably change one thing about it and that would be having Kyouka with him but other than that it was a perfect way to end the night.
And the night did end it ended with Izuku passed out with Eri on his chest nuzzled up under his chin gripping on her papa like he was her lifeline.
That was the scene that greeting Kyouka Jirou as she entered the shared flat she had with her boyfriend and adopted daughter.
It was a sight to behold and many people would struggle to coo at the adorable scene and take pictures, Kyouka included.
And if the pictures just so happened to find there way over to Izuku's mom and her own parents well she can't be blamed for wanted to share this pure scene of father and daughter bonding.
Quietly she got ready for bed and got into bed alongside the two loves of her life, softly placing a goodnight kiss on both of their foreheads.
It was moments like this that made Kyouka feel like all was good in the world and these moments made her love her life even more.
