A/N: Hey, quick question, how are we already halfway through this? I swear this only started yesterday. Hey-ho, hope you like this chapter and I hope you have a wonderful weekend x
Overnight snow had fallen, leaving seven inches of white over the city of Seattle.
It snowed every year but Andy was still in amazement and awe of the winter weather. Something about the glistening snow under the early morning sun made her heart sing and her mind was at peace.
It had just gone past 5:30 in the morning and as much as she needed to get ready or work, Andy couldn't help but stand on her front porch and marvel at the sight in front of her. The blizzard had done the most damage in the night so by morning, the snow falling was just the reminisce.
She had only put on Robert's coat over her pyjamas, wanting to feel the weightlessness of the snow as it landed on her fingers. Before each snowflake melted, Andy studied each one to make sure that the statement her father always told her was true and sure enough, no two snowflakes looked the same.
It was hard for Andy to try and be happy during this season as it was the time when her dad made it magical for her growing up but she knew that he would want to be happy for her; she was in a job that she loved doing, with all the family that she ever needed by her side and a thoughtful husband who allowed her to feel all the things that she needed to feel, regardless of what time of day it was.
"There you are" Robert spoke, walking out onto the front porch to be next to his wife, "Thought you could do with this." He continued as he handed her a steaming cup of coffee. He knew that she didn't sleep too well the night before and with the early wake-up call for work, the tiredness was soon to hit her by lunchtime if she didn't have the caffeine.
"Thanks." Andy replied, taking the mug out of his hand and wrapping her own around to warm them; she had now begun to regret not wearing gloves.
"It's beautiful out here." Robert stated as he blew on his mug, cooling it down before taking a sip.
"It sure it. Everything is at peace."
"And you? Are you at peace?" He asked despite already knowing the answer.
"Getting there" Andy smiled at Robert, "Days like these I miss him, especially knowing how he would react. He used to wake me up hours before school just so I could play in the snow. I've just got to take one step at a time and I'll be okay."
"Well, I'm always here if you need me."
"I know. And you're helping." This time she turned to face her husband, taking a step closer to him to close the gap.
Robert couldn't help but admire the beauty of his wife. With the backdrop of the white snow, everything about her popped even more. Even on her dark days, she still radiated so much grace.
"You've got snowflakes in your hair." Robert spoke as he gently touched them, being careful not to disturb them. Her long, caramel locks were exposed so there was no surprise that some snowflakes had found a resting place there.
He moved his hand to her cheek, caressing it softly with his thumb, feeling the cold that lay upon it. Robert gazed into her eyes, seeing them sparkle from the reflection of the snow, before delicately placing his lips onto hers. They too were cold but still so soft.
The kiss didn't last long, though to the couple it felt like a lifetime.
The snow continued to fall around them as they held each other in an embrace, not wanting to let the perfect moment end.
