Dust flew up as Kavaraa and crew sped across the Jundland wastes, she'd decided not to take Mauksy he'd never been a fan of sand or deserts she guessed she understood why it certainly wasn't his native terrain and sand was annoying. As a result they had opted for speeders which were definitely functional but not exactly inconspicuous with all the sand they were kicking up. They had been traveling for about two hours when they reached a ridge they would have to maneuver round, she checked with Theron they were pretty close to the waypoint on the map so it wouldn't be too much of a detour.

As they turned there was a sudden explosion of sand and from the dust a group of figures emerged surrounding them

A large rough looking human spoke "well well boys looks like we caught ourselves a couple travellers" Kavaraa sighed great now she had to deal with these guys "we'll be having all of your valuables please and thank you" Kavaraa knelt down sitting on the ground

Theron drew his blaster "I wouldn't be so sure about that I don't believe you're aware of who you're dealing with" Kavaraa closed her eyes as she heard Kormel draw his saber

Kavaraa began to focus on where each of them were standing and the sand around them "now now let's not be too hasty I'm sure we can work this out" Kavaraa began to move the sand around them slowly while she talked

The human laughed "nice try but I'm not so easily intimidated the only way you're getting out of this alive is with those fancy toys of yours" good that's all she needed to hear

Kavaraa smiled "very well" she focussed on the sand raising it up around them into a vortex, she opened her eyes to see them pulled into the slowly developing sand vortex. She could here the shock and distress of the interlopers as they got sucked in.

Theron turned to her with a smile "don't you think that's a little overkill" Kormel was looking on in awe

Kavaraa chuckled "it'll give them a good scare" she pushed the vortex away "it should die down in 10-15 minutes" Theron didn't even look surprised anymore she supposed he was used to it at this point "and anyway we're in a hurry let's keep going" Theron nodded and they headed off

A few hours later they arrived at the mouth of a cave "Map says it's around here so I'm guessing the cave" Theron said as he got off his speeder, Kavaraa nodded it was a good enough place as any. They made their way in to the fairly empty cave eventually coming to a large sand wall, Kavaraa reached out with the force to see if she could sense anything.

sure enough she could sense the temple on the other side of the wall "behind this I'm sure of it" she concentrated shifting the sands to form a passage they walked through and were met with a similar entrance chamber only this time made of sandstone.

Theron laughed "I'm glad you could do that I did not want to dig that all out" Kavaraa chuckled back that did seem like a difficult task without the force.

Kormel stepped forward and seemingly reached out with the force Kavaraa saw as the door slowly opened. He smiled turning back to Kavaraa "uh sorry I just wanted to try" Kavaraa couldn't help but relate she had been just the same as a padawan

"that's fine Kormel go for it" Kormel seemed a little more confident since their argument which she hoped would help him in their journey

They walked down the stairs and came to a large room that looked like a dojo, Kavaraa looked around what could this trial be about they had puzzles and history so what came next this seemed combat themed.

Theron walked further into the chamber "so what's this one then will I have to sit in the corner again" he walked over to a rack with what looked like quarterstaffs and chuckled "ooo maybe not" he threw one to Kavaraa which she caught and one to Kormel which he tried to catch but fumbled to the ground

Kormel picked it up "uh I think I may be less helpful in this challenge I don't have much combat experience" Kavaraa nodded she was sure he could help a little.

She looked to the middle of the chamber there was what looked like a square that might activate something "Theron I think we need to stand here I'm uh not sure why" Theron nodded joining her on the platform

She heard a small click and suddenly she saw small wooden targets start to appear around her, she instinctively began hitting each one that came around her.

She could hear Theron doing the same "oh yeah this is more my speed" he laughed as they fought back to back. The targets slowly began to get faster and faster forcing them to work together to hit them all eventually causing them to stand on each others shoulders but after about ten minutes they heard a click and the door began to rise.

Kormel ran over to them "oh wow you guys were so in sync that was amazing" Kavaraa had to catch her breath that was wild

Theron laughed "marriage will do that to you Kormel" Kavaraa smiled holding her hand out for a high five

"yeah it will" Theron returned the high five, Kavaraa stood up "ok let's keep going I doubt that's the last one" they both nodded and headed down into the next chamber.

They were met with a room with many moving targets all across the room, Kavaraa noticed a similar looking set of squares covering the floor of the room

Theron whistled "well that's a bit of a step up" he had a point it certainly was a little bit harder

Kavaraa walked up to the tiles "I think we're supposed to not step on these" her theory was confirmed when she pressed one and the contraption seemingly reset

Theron eyed up the targets "and we're supposed to get all of them?" Kavaraa had to admit it would be a challenge "alright this ones all you I am not that acrobatic" Kavaraa chuckled he had a point there.

Kavaraa spent a few minutes studying the targets looking for a good route, she began by running up the wall hitting the first two targets on the way up. She bounced off the wall spinning to hit the two on the ceiling, then she tried to hit the one in the middle of the room but it was too far down and she couldn't reach.

After that she fumbled soon falling onto the tiles with a loud crash "owwwww' she saw as the targets reset after a second she got back up and walked back over to Theron and Kormel.

Theron smiled "interesting strategy Basen'thor" Kavaraa scrunched up her face at him

She continued to sulk "I thought it would be closer" Theron nodded he sure was loving this. She took another look at it maybe she had to hit it before hand and jump from it? Soon she took another run up the wall taking out the first two targets she then bounced off the wall but this time dropped to hit the target in the middle of the room and used the swings momentum to spring her to the other wall. She ran forward taking out two more targets and then bounced to the target over the door hitting it flawlessly, but then she still had to take out the other two with a desperate throw she lined up the staff and threw it towards the two targets. Seconds before she hit the floor she heard the click of the door behind her followed by a crash as she hit the floor.

Theron and Kormel walked up to her lying on the floor "can I just stay here for a bit my everything hurts" Theron chuckled shaking his head and before Kavaraa could protest he lifted her over his shoulder

Kavaraa was about to argue but this was actually pretty comfortable she continued to sulk though. Theron chuckled "don't worry sweetie we'll handle the rest" Kavaraa nestled into his back fine but only because her everything hurt and it was Theron

They went down the stairs reaching a third room that seemed to be some form of shooting range it was full of targets and what seemed like blasters. Theron smiled "now this is my speed" Kavaraa expected to be put down but to her surprise he proceeded to shoot all the targets in quick succession with her still draped over his shoulder

Kavaraa folder her arms "show off" Theron chuckled to himself heading towards the door

"maybe but I did also crush it so maybe I'm just that good" Kavaraa couldn't help but chuckle as they headed down to the final chamber. Theron set Kavaraa down and sure enough another holocron sat in the middle of the room they all knew the drill by now. She hoped they would find out the actual nature of what they were doing these had been awfully vague so far…
