Gacen felt a shiver run down his spine as the nebula got closer and closer, they had managed to engage the shield device without too much trouble but Gacen was still wary he loved his ship and he certainly didn't want to see it turned to scrap. Gacen shifted the ship slowly forwards until they were up against the edge of the nebula where he stopped for a second.

Gacen hesitated "um ok I'm just gonna inch in just in case the shield is bollocks" Ash nodded looking rather impatient. After a deep breath Gacen pushed the ship forward peering intently at the front of the ship as they inched into the nebula "is it rusting can you see anything" Gacen looked around frantically for any sign of damage

Ash glanced at the console "the console says there's no new hull damage, congrats this wasn't a mistake" Gacen breathed a sigh of relief Ash seemed less than bothered but he knew she was still just mad the shield was useful

Gacen quickly shunted the rest of the ship into the nebula and turned on the highest power beams, Gacen couldn't remember the last time he'd used these things he usually tried to avoid the nebulas maybe when he was around Kessel. Gacen quickly put the thought out his mind and looked around, they were surrounded from every side by a mixture of green gases all looking fairly toxic and dangerous.

Gacen shuddered at the idea of a creature who could live in such an environment, Ash turned to him "so what now?" Gacen frowned at the question he wasn't exactly sure

Gacen stroked his chin "well Risha definitely went this way and there has to be at least two more Gabredor planets so I guess look for those" Ash raised her eyebrow clearly not convinced at the validity of his plan "look I dunno ok I'm kinda playing it by ear but we're close dude we can afford to stumble around a nebula for a bit" Ash conceded after all it's not like she had any better idea

Ash looked out the viewport "fine but if we die in this place I'm gonna haunt your wife" Gacen nodded that seemed like a fair arrangement.

As they continued forward they started to come upon more and more ship debris, Gacen guessed this was the remaining debris which didn't get pulled in by Gabredor III's atmosphere. Unfortunately that meant there was a higher chance of encountering the 'worm' Bucket had talked about or whatever actually did this, Gacen glanced over to Ash who was suddenly looking equally more alert. As they began to weave through the debris Gacen couldn't help but notice the debris seemed like weird sections of ship, there were no bite marks it seemed more like something had slammed through it but… cleaner.

Gacen shivered "this place is giving me the heebie-jeebies man talk about a starship graveyard" Ash looked equally worried looking back to the console

"yeah I wouldn't stick around here, do you have an organics scanner?" Gacen frowned an organics scanner? why would he have that?

Gacen looked at Ash confused "uhhhh no I don't think so" Ash sighed looking around the cockpit

"well then I'd advise we don't stick around in case of the worm" Gacen nodded that did make a lot of sense

Gacen peered out the viewport "well I don't see any end in sight for now but I also gotta be careful not to crash into all this ship debris" Gacen had to admit even for him this piloting would take a bit of skill especially with a potential 'monster' chasing them.

Ash folded her arms "still I'd rather not stick around to find out" Gacen nodded she had a point but she was just paranoid

Gacen chuckled "I don't know what you're so worried about Ash the 'worm' probably doesn't roam around these old desolate things the nebula is huge after all and this doesn't exactly seem like food central" Ash frowned at Gacen her eyes suddenly widening. Soon after a huge shadow descended over the cockpit, Gacen's heart sank as he let out a sigh "the worms above the ship isn't it" Ash nodded not saying a word. Gacen smiled grabbing hold of the accelerator "bring it"

The ship shot forwards out of the shadow of the worm Gacen quickly turned to see what he was dealing with, the large winding form of a monstrous pink worm was coiled around the spot they just were looking about ready to crush them. It seemed to have tendrils to propel it forward but curiously no eyes, hmmm Gacen had a plan.

Gacen heard it let out a roar as he veered round the side of a Corvette this was gonna take some skill "ok so I was wrong you were right… again, luckily you're with the best pilot in the galaxy I can out maneuver a worm" Ash held her seat tightly looking less than impressed

Ash let out a terse reply "forgive me if that doesn't raise my confidence" Gacen chuckled throwing the ship forward between two large parts of ship debris. He heard the worm crash through the Corvette as he took a sharp right turn spinning to face the channel he'd gone through.

He smiled at Ash "watch this" the worm crashed through the ships as he let out a volley of turbolaser fire it cut through the worm splitting it in two. He gave Ash a cocky smile but Ash looked more worried than impressed, he looked back over to the worm seeing both halves of the worm turn towards him beginning to roar.

His eyes widened as he quickly shifted the ship back around Ash let out a long sigh "you have no idea how worms work do you?" Gacen spun the ship down below half a frigate hoping to gain some distance from the worms

Gacen responded "well if you're asking if I knew they duplicate when you split them in half no believe it or not I didn't know that" Gacen wasn't entirely sure how to get out of this now. He looked around spotting a larger more damaged looking cruiser maybe he could hide in there, as the roars of the worms got louder he punched the ship forward spinning back out from under the ship and b-lining towards the cruiser. Getting close he noticed holes in the hull of many of the broken ship parts, he could also here the sound of the worms getting closer and closer. He showed no sign of stopping however at least until he was right above the cruiser coming to a fast and quick stop, he saw as the worms sailed past him giving him the chance to dive into one of the holes.

Once positioned in the hole he whispered to Ash "turn of everything those things don't have eyes they probably can track our sound and movement so we need to turn that shit off" Ash nodded as they quickly turned off everything.

It was suddenly very quiet they could here the creaking of the ship interior against the tiny hole they were slotted into, Gacen could still here the sound of the worms roaring as they looked around for them. Gacen took a deep breath as the shadow of one of the worms crossed the hole but eventually it passed and they heard the worms slowly move away.

Ash let out a sigh of relief as they began turning the ships system back on "well that was way too close, how did you know they didn't have infra-red vision?" Gacen's eyes widened he hadn't even thought of that

Gacen stuttered "uh well I guess I just had a hunch" Ash held her forehead for a second realising how close they had come to worm food. Gacen chuckled "still could be worse" Ash nodded as Gacen piloted the ship out of the hole in the cruiser, he very cautiously made his way through the rest of the nebula making sure to be quiet and careful.

Eventually they came to what seemed like the edge of the nebula and as they passed through it stars came into vision above them, below the nebula still raged but there seemed to be a pocket of space within the nebula without the toxic environment and as Gacen glanced across he could see why. A small pale planet came into view sitting just above the nebula, Gacen frowned planet conditions never seized to amaze him but still this was good maybe this was Gabredor II but more importantly it could be the location of Risha…
