Well it's been quite a while but we're at the final chapter of the Christmas Annual one shot collection! Merry Christmas Eve to all of you as well! ;)
We have been through the start of Kirby and Jigglypuff's Relationship to Mewtwo opening up to Ness to Red helping Lucas regarding the topic of Family to Lucina and Robin starting to pick up the pieces of their enstrangled Daughter and Mother relationship after Grima's Death to this story. (You may have noticed a theme with all the stories with how some stories have shared one theme with another, I'll explained what they are in the AN bellow)
This story will be staring Terry, Byleth and…. Guzma and his Pokémon team?
Now for those who are curious about the last two, (well Four due to how Guzma in this story is like Red/Leaf where he uses three Pokémon to fight for him in the Smash Tournament which are Golispod, Pinsir and Ariados) This story is inspired by Krosshair's own World of Light Story:
In his story, Geno (Super Mario RPG) Issac and Matthew (Both from Golden Sun) Are invited to the Smash Tournaments as well, (Same with Banjo and Kazooie before the Duo are invited for Real in Last year's E3 with the Dragon Quest Heroes)
Likewise, Guzma and his three Pokémon are invited with seven other extra Smashers (For three other examples, They are Bandana Dee (Kirby), Zero (MegaMan X) and Agumon (Digimon, And Yes, Before you ask, Digimon DOES Exist as a game series, it was that first and THEN an anime series) by Crazy Hand just before the WOL incident has occurred.

Speaking of World of Light, While World of Light Deluxe has yet to been finished yet, This story will be taking place just after the destruction of Galeem and Dharkon. (It will also bring upcoming events of that story as well but no actual action of it will occur until they're shown in Deluxe.)
It also takes place before the stories: 'Squids, Punks and Dragons' and 'Parental Bonds of Smash (The Non flashbacks portions of that story)' if you're curious to know about this story's placement timeline wise.

Story 5: Hotshots
Main Characters: Terry Bogards, Byleth, Guzma, Golisopod,
Rating: T (Swearing and direct mentioning of Parental Abuse, also contained minor mentioning of the S Word)
Symposis: Even a coincidental face can riled up your grudges to hateful levels, Guzma made it clear to Terry Bogards that they're not friends even after the World of Light Incident, But the King of Fighters is willing to try to help him during the Christmas Party, Would he pushed aside his grudge just to even be with him for a few hours?

Smash Mansion, Cafeteria/ Main Hall, Christmas Eve:
"Well, It's time Everyone….. Let's party!" Said Master Hand as he and his Brother got their party popers in their hands as they are not in their Floating Glove like forms but their human forms for occasions like a Christmas and/or a New year's eve Party.
"Heck yeah!" Crazy Hand said back to his brother as he held the popper in his hand. "Let's go, go GO!"
He shouted as he danced around with as the pulled his Party popper, a Stream of confetti bursting out of it (And for once not having something bad happened to Corrin and Kamui when Crazy Hand was around given his… relationship with them both.)
"Calm down Crazy, I Understand we been through a lot with the World of Light incident with Galeem and Dharkon…." Master Hand said back to his Brother as he started dancing around like a Kangaroo on sugar. "But you shouldn't burn all your energy out right now….."
"You Know Bro, Lighten up now…." Crazy countered back to his brother as he looked back at him. "They're gone for good, Galeem and Dharkon won't be coming back anytime soon…."
"Heck, I doubt neither of them made a Subspace Seal like the Master Core and Tabuu was destroyed along with Dharkon in the final Battle… So we SHOULD be safe for real this time around….. Safe for Corrin and Kamui still being alive that is..."
"They're better Killed off with Dharkon, Galeem and Kairi in my opinion... That red haired wimp should just be left on the islands doing what she does best... wait for Sora and get Kidnapped for motivating him."
Despite a lingering feeling from Master Hand that Galeem and Dharkon may still be out there despite their demises at the smashers, The more resevered of the two Hand God brothers simply gave a smile back to his brother.
"Fair enough, Let's enjoy this party while it last." He answered back to him with a smile. "And besides, we got the next year party for the remaining DLC fighters as well."
"Wah-Hoo!" Said Crazy hand with some glee in his tone. "That's what i'm talking about Bro!"
"Party time,Party time, PARTY TIME BABY! WHOOOOOO!"
"And no pranks on Corrin and Kamui for the rest of the party as well however." Master Hand said back to his brother with a glare form his eyes, Much to Crazy's disappointment.
"You're no fun Bro..." Said the goofy Hand god back to his brother with sadness in his tone while looking at the party down below.
"Not now Crazy, Not now..." said Master Hand as he rolled his eyes at his brother's behavior before glancing at the Party held below with a smile.
If there was any occasion the Smashers need after the events of the WOL incident, It was a Christmas party to celebrate their.
While Granted, It was a tradition to have a Christmas Party during the years in the Smash mansion, but this one was one the Smashers, Master and Crazy Hand Really needed at this point after the chaos with Dharkon and Galeem.
This year's Party was part of the much need relaxation for ALL of the smashers with those like Pichu, Lucas, Bandana Dee and even Cloud, Both psychical and Mental Scars being formed after the dreadful war of light and Darkness.
Likewise the Party was going strong as one may expect with couples dancing with one another, Food lovers pigging out on the Christmas Buffet and those whom are not that excitement driven just chatting with their friends and new acquaintances with even a few like Pichu and Agumon helping with the buffet as well with the their special Curry which was fortunately edible for every one in the Mansion (Even Corrin and Kamui whom the former dread that that Pichu may have poisoned the food specially given him and his only blood related sibling's rather infamous relationship with her and Bowser Junior)
They're even a few like Red and Lucas whom are deciding to chill out at the back gardens of the Mansion to have some peace and quiet form the excitement of the Cafeteria/ Main Hall and chill out at the back with a mini BBQ.
It was that much needed relaxation the Smashers need right now ever since Dharkon and Galeem's Demises right now...
But if there WAS one person whom wasn't in a festive mood, It was unexpected face and leader of the now disbanded Team Skull Guzma, Whom was currently being pestered by the King of Fighters and Buster Wolf Terry Bogards when he just wanted to be alone with his Pokémon team.
"Hey Guzma I was thinking, There something I wanted to show y-" Terry said back to Guzma whom glared back at him while gripping his hot cup,
"If you want keep your face intact, Bogards…. Buzz… OFF!" Guzma snarled back to the King of Fighters as he glared back at him while his cup of Tapu Cacoa was still in his hands, Almost tempted to punch him the face if he wasn't holding his favorite drink in his hands.
"Before I considered punching you off this place or considering sicing Golisopod at you right now…." continued with a lot of venom in his tone like his Admin Plumeria's Salazzle when she used Toxic. "So unless you have anything good to say, Get…out…of… my… face….NOW!"
Terry however stood his ground as he then looked back at the Punk as if his threat wasn't made in the first place as he looked back at him.
"Look Guzma, I know you have issues especially with what happened with Galeem and Dharkon, Fighting our fellow Smashers and seeing Necrozma for you is something you don't want to bring up again….." He said back to the Ex-Leader of Team Skull with some caution when he mentioned the last part, No doubt aware of the PTSD associated with it.
"But it's just a couple of Hours and I'm sure you won't mind… right?" He said back to him as the Punk looked back with not a glare but a decisive look on his face.
After what appears to be a couple of minutes between the two of them, Guzma finally spoke out his piece.
"….Fine, But it better be good!" He snarled back to him as he finished the last of his Tapu Cocoa and threw the disposable cup away, his anger currently vented into throwing the cup.
As soon as Guzma got up he turned back to his team and said:
"Let's go guys." Something Terry took note of when he did so, taking note of both the tone and the way he said it. "Bogard's got something he want's to show us."
'Ok, Red did say he only know bits and pieces of the Guzma from his World has been know to berate himself at times…. But he never abused his own Pokémon* in any way….' Thought the Blond Haired Fighter as he looked back at Guzma's Team, 'So it should be the same for him as well here...'
No look of fear in their eyes, No sense of dread of pushiment, Just a sense of loyalty to their trainer, While not as close to say Red's or Leaf's Pokémon, it was the type of loyalty whom stood with their trainer since when he was younger.
Golispod then looked back at Pinsir and Ariados whom gave the nod back as they got up from where they are and to their trainer.
"Alright, where's the place you want to take me?" He said back to the King of Fighters as the red Jacket man looked back at him.
"Fellow me." He answered back to the Punk as he head towards where the Back Gardens are located.
Deciding questioning the Blond haired fighter is better off when he get's to where, Guzma simply shot a glance at him, Something his Pokémon noticed as well.
"Hey Guzma, I get you're not exactly on good terms with Terry but are you ok?" Golisopod asked his trainer as they followed Terry, "You been like this since Galeem and Dharkon's Defeat…"
"Is something wrong?"
"I'm fine buddy…." Said the white haired leader of Team Skull with a shrug towards his starter and a huff form himself, "It's neither giant miss ball of light or Mr. tentacle eye I'm worried about…."
"It's Mr. Hotshot Bogards or Kukui 2.0 here that's the problem….." He scowled back to his team with some anger in his tone. "No matter what he does, He just HAVE to remind of Kukui….. No matter what he does or say… it's like he somehow also got invited with us and Sun's Incineroar…"
"It's like no matter where we go, There's some form of him coming with us like a Haunter or even a Bewear…. and I'm not just talking about Lusamine's Bewear either..."
The three Bug types looked back at each other with puzzled looks at what their Trainer has said,
While Golisopod was the only one of them whom understood what he means, the others only knew their trainer's personal grudge with his former friend, a mark then remained whenever he sees an Incineroar, something that only died down after the incident with Necrozma.
They decided to hold off it however as they know their trainer, deep down behind his cocky punk like persona lies a man with scars from an abusive father…. And a lot of bitterness towards the Island trials of their home region, The breaking point of his friendship with Kukui despite the fact that the both of them are rejects whom didn't become trial Captains.

Smash Mansion, Back Gardens:
"Not bad Zero…. Not bad…." Byleth said back to the Reploid as he drew his Z saber out at her while drewing her own weapon, The Sword of the Creator. "You're pretty good with your Z Saber…."
"*Hpmm* Thanks…..for a Human you do managed to put up a fight…." Zero answered back to the Teacher of Garreg Mach as he returned his saber back to it's hilt as he placed it on it's back. "I can't wait to fight you during the official matches once they start to open…."
"Though you're almost on Chrom's Level if you ask me….. No offense buddy." He continued as he looked back at the Prince of Ylisse.
"None taken Zero," Chrom answered back to the Maverick Hunter as he, Red, Leaf, Lucas, Squritle and Ivysaur, Whom were enjoying some of the food they brought form the Buffet back in the Main Hall as he then shot a glance at the entrance to the gardens.
"Though I'm Curious to know Terry is… he did say he was getting Guzma here….." He continued as he took a bite of the Grilled Meat he has just took form the BBQ table, "But he hasn't been back yet..."
"Well form what he asked me about Guzma, He does seemed concern for him…." Red answered back to the Prince of Ylisse as he took a bite out of his Tamato Berry Crostini, "I mean the whole thing with him calling him Kukui and all that…. I think there something about Terry Guzma doesn't like about…"
"I can understand that…." Chrom answered back to the Champion of Kanto as he let out a sigh,
"I spoken with him a couple of times during the World of Light Incident, He has been through a lot with his dad… and his not exactly whom you call a pleasant man either….. and I know what he means as well**"
"How so?" Leaf questioned back as she joined in the conversation with a curious look to her boyfriend and Chrom.
Before they could answer her question, The door soon opened to reveal Terry, Guzma and his Pokémon,
"Sorry I'm late guys, Just came to pick Guzma and his team…" Terry said back to the group as Guzma and his Pokémon soon made themselves know to them.
"It's fine Terry," Chrom said back to Terry as he looked back at Guzma whom simply looked back.
"Oh…Hey Chrom…." Said the Leader of team Skull as he looked back at one of the few people he can call a friend (and even then It's was a rocky relationship due to how the Prince's Daughter Lucina see her father as in Guzma's Words: "She see you like you're freaking Tapu Koko or even Arceus…. mother freaking ARCEUS!") in the Mansion right now. "What are you doing here?"
"Aren't you spending time with your Kid and Wife back at the party or something?"
"Well Terry thought that it would be nice for a bunch of us to hang out here….." Chrom answered back to the Alolan as he looked back at Red whom was awkwardly smiling back at him.
"Well Red here admits he's not a party person so it's perfect for people like him and Leaf…." He continued before looking back at the door leading to the Main Hall/ Cafeteria. "And I thought I join in as well..."
"And as for Lucina and Robin... They're spending time with Shulk, Pit, Dark Pit, MegaMan and Palutena right now..."
"Ok then…." Said the leader of Team Skull said back to the Prince of Ylisse before he noticed the Pokémon present with Red and Leaf… and the ones absent as well.
"Hey, Aren't your Charizards here with you two?" He questioned back to them as shot an awkward glance at them. "You know, cause they're practically your starters and all b-"
"Well let's just say they are having some private time to themselves…." Leaf said back to the White haired Alolan as she tried to avoid soiling Lucas's innocent mind (Or what's left of it after the stuff with Porky and the Pig Masks) in the process. "They're in our room right now though….."
"…. Whatever…." Guzma said back to the brown haired Johtoian*** as he then Glared back at Terry.
"Ok, Spell the Beans Bogards," He said back at Terry, "There's a reason you brought me here,"
"Say it now…. And I'm trying my hardest NOT to make a scene right now….Especially with the Kid Red's been budies with." He continued as Pointed at Lucas, making it clear he wanted the answers without much trouble for everyone in the area.
Terry then gave a look at Guzma's Pokémon, Golisopod in particular almost ready to sic on him if he even pushed any of his Trainer's buttons any further.
Deciding that holding back the answer will make it worse for everyone including the white haired Alolan in front of him, Terrry spoke his piece.
"… Look dude, It's about your dad," Terry said back to the leader of Team Skull with some caution. "I'm kinda of worried about you dude…."
"Form what Red, Chrom and even Plumeria told me, You seemed like the type of guy whom may keep a tough façade up… but form what they told me…" the King of Fighters Continued as he noticed Guzma's face when he mentioned what he has just said. "You had some parental problems that you can't keep to yourself all the time…"
"You need some help ever now and then….Even if you say you don't need it."
Upon hearing what Terry has just said, Guzma was almost tempted to punch him the face as memories of him cowering before an older man wearing a pink shirt and holding a Golf Club in his hands flashed inside his mind with the words that the older man has just said in it: "Guzma! What is wrong with you!"
"Why you!" Guzma shouted out as he readied his fist against Terry for evening bring up the ONE thing he doesn't want others to know about.
But before he could do that, he was stopped by Byleth and Zero whom the latter quickly held the Leader of Team Skull back form delvering his fist into Terry's face.
"Look Guzma, we get it, Your past is something you don't want to mention…." Byleth said back to him as he struggled against Zero's Grip, the Reploid's strength proving himself stronger then what he may expect.
"But I know someone whom been through it as well! You know you keep it to yourself, it's only going to get worse for you!" She continued as a memory of a Blond haired prince with an axe crazy look entered her mind, followed by an older version of said prince with an eyepatch slashing through soliders like a deranged madman out for blood.
"Well she got a point Guzma, I know that feeling, Same with Lucina and Robin," Chrom answered back as he looked back at Guzma whom decided to stop struggling against Zero's Grip and looked back at his somewhat Friend.
"I have to admit my own Father isn't exactly a nice person either….And I may have also have inheirited some of his worse traits…." Chrom continued as he quicky banished the thought of a man whom looked like an older version of himself slashing Plegians one after another from his mind.
"But you have to know this, What happened with Kukui doesn't apply with Terry, Robin and Lucina showed me that I'm not my Father… So it should be the same with you and Him…"
Guzma simply gave one look back at Chrom and then to Byleth and then to Terry whom was on the edge right now with Golisopod almost ready to defend his trainer if one wrong move is made from him.
"…Fine… I'll hold the grudge back for now…." He answered back to them with a growl as Zero lossen his grip on his arms. "Deal?"
"…We'll let this slide for now…." Zero said back to him as he rolled his eyes at what he has just said. "But we have our eyes on you."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it." Guzma snarled back to the Maverick hunter with a half fearful tone especially with what little he did see of him during the World of Light incident. "I won't do anything stupid that will get me and Terry killed ok?"
Despite the tone he gave him when he spoke his piece, Zero decided to let it slide as Guzma then approached Terry, A firm glare made it clear as a warning if Guzma DOES do something bad to Terry.
"Ok, I'm willing to let this time slide Terry…. Just not to be a party pooper in front of the others!" Guzma snarled back to Terry.
"…No problem…." Terry answered back to him as he then dug through his Pocket.
"And besides, I thought I gave you something as well…" He said back to the Punk as he took out what he was searching for, A small neon green present with a grey ribbon on it.
"Wait, Is this?" Guzma questioned the Buster Wolf as he looked back at the box in the latter's hands.
"A Present for you? Yup it is." He answered back to him with a smile. "And it's not part of the Secret Santa thing latter after the Pageant so it's not a prank, promise."
"Heck you can even open it now if you want…"
Guzma then took the Present with a small "thanks" being muttered under his breath as he does so.
He then unwrapped the present and opened it which to his surprise was something he wasn't expecting.
It was a Badge shaped like a Skull like a skull with an indent meant for a marble like item….one example of said marble like items being Mega Stones.
"…Wait is this for?" Guzma questioned back at the item in his hands before Terry gave a nod back to him.
"Well I noticed the Belt Pinsir been holding his Pinsirite as Red calls it is kinda worn and loose so I thought I get you something more stable for it." Terry answered back to him with a smile. "It's not much but it's something…"
Guzma simply said nothing and then looked at the Belt his Pinsir was wearing, the hastily clobbered together old belt that was once his Dad's (which he stole the night before leaving his home) with a small holder for the Pinsirite he received from Lusamine attached to it.
'For once he does got a point….' Guzma thought to himself as he looked at the Badge, It would fit Pinsir quite well and since Team Skull may be no more… it can tribute his past in a way without being excessive(?) about it.
"…Thanks…" Guzma said back to Terry as he placed the badge back into the box and that into his own Pocket.
"No Problem Guzma," Terry said back to him with a smile. "Why not stay for a while, There's still an Hour before the Pageant after all."
The Leader of Team Skull said nothing back to him as he then went to the makeshift buffet table, took some food for him and his Pokémon as they sat down some distance way from Red, Leaf and Lucas.
"So I guess that's a Success then?" Chrom said back to him, Byleth and Zero as they looked back at the Leader of Team Skull.
"Well he just said thanks so I guess that counts…." Terry responds back to the Sapphire haired prince with a shrug from his shoulders. "He may not be willing to admit it yet…"
"But he's willing to be with us for a while so it's a success in my opnion…"
"Still, He does have a point regarding what he about my Relationship with Lucina..." Chrom said back to the two of them as Terry took notice of his tone.
"Something bothering you about you two's relationship Chrom?" Terry questioned back to him with a suprised look.
"He does have a point about Lucina looking up to me a lot but sometimes... I'm worried I'm not the dad she sees me as..." Chrom continued as he then noticed Byleth placing her hand on his shoulder. "Especially with how my Relationship with my own Father... is far form pleasant then you may think."
"Relax Chrom, If Lucina is willing to acknowledge you beyond your... Quirks, It's enough for her to see you as the Father she lost in her time..." Byleth answered back to the Ylissean Prince with a smile.
"You may not be there to give her a childhood in her youth, but you can fill in that missing time spent by spending time with her now."
"She got a point Chrom," Zero answered back to him with a smirk on his face while doing so. "You may a bit of a dork times... but it's clear at times you're trying your best."
"...Thanks." Chrom answered back to the group as he looked back at a golden locket shaped liked the smash ball logo, The same one Lucina gave to him when he Visted her and Robin during the Sm4sh Tournament.
'No matter what happens to you Lucina, I'll keep you, Morgan and Robin safe!" He thought to himself as he gripped the locket, Quickly banishing the memories of Grima, Galeem and Dharkon from his mind as he did so.
Meanwhile with Guzma however, he was currently eating the (Fortunately edible) Curry that Pichu and Agumon has made for the party, His mind was on two things…. The food and Terry's gift.
'Hpmm I guess that weird Tyruntmander**** thing and his Pichu buddy aren't bad cooks themselves…' He thought to himself as he ate a morsel of the curry sauce and rice on his platter with some of the Grilled food form the BBQ grill.
'It's not half bad either...' He continued his train of thought as he soon started to feel the gift Terry gave him in his pocket, it's packaging making contact with his fingers in the process.
'Though I never questioned Bogard's Desire to befriend me….' He thought to himself as he took a bite of the curry while feeling the small velvety nature of the exterior of the box the badge was inside.
'He's like Kukui back during our younger days but yet… he's different…. But at the very least…. Hau should be right this tournament may be what I need to find Myself after that whole shtick with Nercozma and Rainbow Rocket….' He continued with some thought to Hala's Grandson and the conversation he said when they met at the Aether house.
'He better be right about this!' He thought to himself while taking a bit out of the Grilled Slowpoke Tail on his plate, No doubt ready to use the Smash Tourney as a way to truly find himself and start afresh.
He may have lost the chance to become a Trial Captain but the World of Trophies better watch out for the new and improved Guzma and his team soon...

*This is based on the Pokémon adventures Manga and Game versions of Guzma, Acording to what I have heard people say in comments, there was a scene with Guzma Berating himself as he lost another match, He also told his Pokémon it wasn't their fault, something also shown in the games as he constantly berated himself when he losses to you in both regular and Ultra Sun/Moon. I thought this would be an interesting trivia for you Guzma fans only saw the anime and want more backstory for him
**Unlike Most Fire Emblem Lords, Chrom doesn't have a pleasant relationship with his own Dad (Or to be more precise, he doesn't really have much of a connection to his own father unlike his own daughter Lucina with him if his Dialog in FE: Awakening during the Gangerl Arc is anything to say about himself.) and how he was responsible for a good chuck of the Non Grima/Grimleal Problems in Awakening (And unlike Xander AKA 'Mr. FATHER CAN'T BE EVULLLL' from FE: Fates/06 , Chrom is willing to acknowledge the aftermath and consequences of his Father's Massacre on Plegia and how it effect both it and Ylisse and Emmeryn's intial hatered by even her own people) This will be brought up in WOL Deluxe with him, Bowser and Guzma though, hence the Arceus Line. (It may also be a side story in the Tales of the Smashers collection though)
***Leaf's from Johto in this series, hence why she mentioned as that, She's also a trainer form the Charizard Valley in this series (She's a relative of Liza in this series as well)
****Guzma's Nickname for Agumon, They may not have interacted yet, but it (The Nickname) will be a thing in World of Light Deluxe at the very least (or even a story in the Tales of the Smashers One-Shot Collection/ Future one shot)
Author's Note:
Well that's it, All five stories are finished for the first Annual of the Deluxe-Verse! Now despite what this title say, This annual will be the ONLY Christmas Planned so far (Other Annuals will be a thing but that's it.)
And the theming of these Annual's? well it's more or less opening up to others in a way (Kirby helping Jigglypuff open up her more softer side, Ness befriending Mewtwo, Red helping Lucas with his family drama, Lucina and Robin starting to pick up the pieces of their enstrangled relationship and finally this story, Terry trying to help Guzma out)
Yeah, Guzma's A popular character and his back story as shown in bigger detail in Pokémon S/M PostGame in a way is what made him shine (Him being an abused child whom was considered a failure and him not being a cult leader but rather someone whom had the worst luck possible in his childhood can make him a relatable character to say the least.)
Let's get the Elephant in the room out of the way first, Guzma's seing Terry as Kukui 2.0, It's a minor headcanon that he won't be someone Guzma will see as a friend that much. (Even calling him annoying would be in character for Guzma regarding Terry to say the least)
Also Zero has more dialog here, (His only speaking line so far in the Deluxe-Verse was WOL-DX chapter 3 which was him contributing to the dialog before Galeem send everyone (Save Kirby and Bandana) to oblivion.
Liekwise, Byleth in the Deluxe-Verse sided with the Blue Lions meaning she knows some of Guzma's Behavior can be similar to Dimitri's (or at least Roughly similar)
Believe it or not, Joker was meant to appear here as well but I doubt I'll get him done well here so any potential Guzma interactions with him will be in another one-Shot planned (It's called Curry and Delinquents btw)
Also for the Grilled Slowpoke Tail, I guess it's legal when you let the tail regrow itself naturally but cutting it off merciless like Team Rocket in the Slowpoke Wall in HG/SS is a big N-O however.
For Master Hand's and Crazy Hand's Human Forms, Just imagine them as Masahiro Sakurai (Master Hand) and Reggie Fils Aime(Crazy Hand) (And no celebraties are harmed in this story becasue of it)
