The next day Maggie was at work in her office. She was lying on the sofa with her arm thrown over her eyes. She wasn't feeling too well and just needed a few quiet moments of rest.

However, just as she started to doze off her sister loudly entered her office. Amelia said, "There you are. Do you know that your husband is looking for you? He said that you're mad at him for not telling you your vacation destination, so you're avoiding him."

Maggie slowly sat up. She said, "I'm not mad at Jackson. Do I want to know? Yes, especially since you and Meredith put camping in my head, but I trust him, so I'm not really worried about it."

Amelia sat on the edge of Maggie's desk. She asked, "Then why are you avoiding your husband?"

Maggie averted her eyes and asked, "Who said I was avoiding him? I'm working. I can't avoid a person that I literally live with."

Amelia studied Maggie for a moment. She said, "Maggie, you're not working. Well, maybe you're supposed to be. You were napping. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen you two in the same room in a couple of weeks. Actually, you've been spending a lot of time here at this hospital. What's going on Maggie? Is something wrong between you and Jackson?"

Maggie looked at her sister in the eye. She said, "Nothing is wrong with me and Jackson. We're actually great. Why would you think that something would be wrong?"

To know Maggie and to know Amelia was to know that Maggie knew Amelia well and vice versa. Amelia leaned over and placed a hand on her sister's knee. She squeezed gently saying, "Maggie, talk to me. What's going on. Why are you avoiding him?"

Maggie leaned back against the sofa and looked at the ceiling. She finally said, "I'm pregnant. It's his Christmas surprise. We've recently started trying and it was pretty damn effortless. Anyway, I want this to be his Christmas gift which means I need to hide it, but I'm sick almost daily. You know Jackson, he notices every little thing when it comes to me. I can't hide that I'm sick when he's looking me in the face."

"So, instead you start acting weird and avoiding him because that wouldn't tip him off?" Amelia asked with squinty eyes.

Maggie rolled her eyes and said, "He's not suspicious today. He thinks I'm mad he won't tell me where we're going because last night I tried getting it out of him. You just said so yourself."

Amelia said, "Wow, I never knew you could keep secrets. How haven't you spoiled your own surprise yet? Who else knows?"

Maggie laid back down on the sofa. She said, "I know how to surprise people, Amelia. I've only been keeping the secret a little over a week. Most of the time I was working, and I'd go home when he wasn't there. I'm pretty sure when we leave for this trip the surprise will get ruined because I won't be able to avoid him when I'm ill, but maybe it won't get ruined because he said we're not leaving until Christmas eve. No one else knows. You're a pest. That's the only reason I told you, but you have to keep this to yourself. You can't even tell Link."

Amelia stood from the desk and walked around to sit in Maggie's chair. She said, "I always thought that you and Jackson would find out together. Never thought you would be trying to surprise him. Did Carina give you something to help with nausea?"

"I got sick one day with Catherine and she got excited about a baby. I managed to calm her down and told her that Jackson and I decided to wait a little longer. She actually bought it. Then I left and came back here and took several tests and what do you know. I'm an overachiever in everything. Anyway, it's so close to Christmas that it seemed like a good idea. I don't really want to take anything if it's not necessary. I can keep food down, it's just I'm really lightheaded all the time and Jackson is so damn observant of me." Maggie explained.

Amelia chuckled, "You'll figure it out, but you need to figure it out fast because you can't hide forever. He's going to find you.'

When her sister finally left her alone she took a short nap so that she could put her usual pep in her step for when she next saw her husband. She wanted to try and keep away Jackson's suspicions as long as possible.

When she woke up she went to the OR floor to figure out if Meredith had finished with her surgery in time enough for it to be turned over for her next scheduled surgery. She knew that yeah, an OR is an OR, but she still had her favorite.

As she rounded the corner she saw Jackson standing at the nurse's station looking at a tablet on the counter. His back was to her. Seeing him she quietly slid next to him, invading his personal space.

Before she could say anything and without looking up Jackson asked, "Are you done being mad? Harriet rub off on you last night?"

Maggie leaned her forehead on his bicep. She answered with a question of her own, "How did you know it was me?"

Jackson turned to look into his wife's beautiful brown face. He said, "I told you I can feel your presence when you enter into a room."

Chuckling Maggie said, "I swear, no one would believe it if I let it get out just how sappy Jackson Avery is."

Jackson looked at her with his eyes squinted. Maggie flicked her eyes away from his. He then asked, "You're not mad?"

Maggie straightened and grabbed a tablet from the other side of the desk. She asked, "Mad about what?'

"Because I won't tell you more details about our holiday plans?" Jackson replied reaching out to wrap one of her curls around his finger.

She shook her head. She said, "Jackson, I'm not mad at you for not telling. As long as you're not taking me to the woods, whatever you have planned will be fine."

Jackson's eyes flashed in amusement at his wife. He asked, "Why would you think I was taking you camping for Christmas?"

Maggie shrugged, "I know you wouldn't. You like being married to me, but Meredith mentioned and for a moment I was like, Jackson isn't crazy. He wouldn't actually do that would he?"

It was Jackson's turn to chuckle. He said, "I won't be telling you where we're going, but I can assure you that after our last adventure to the woods that I'm more than happy to go with my friends and to leave you at home."

Maggie smiled and clapped her hands gleefully. She said, "See, I told Amelia that you were smart. I have surgery. I'll see you at home. Maybe I can try to get details out of you again. That was fun."

Jackson winked at his wife as she walked away.
