I don't own RoboCop.

Anyway, Happy Christmas and stay safe.

Resurfacing Memories.

When he looked back on it later, shortly after the battle between himself and Boddicker's men, RoboCop, formerly Officer Alex Murphy before Boddicker, a known cop killer, and his men shot him to pieces on his first patrol in Old Detroit following his transfer, would never truly know when his memories of his former life had begun to resurface.

He accepted OCP had erased his memories, replacing everything with programming in order to transform him into the perfect cyborg police officer - the Prime Directive protocols which had given him so much trouble when he had tried - and failed - to arrest Jones were testament to that.

RoboCop/Murphy remembered dimly little snippets of memory, of a woman and a child who had loved him, but while he did know them, the cyborg officer had little knowledge of them.

It wasn't until that horrible surge of memories when he had been in the station undergoing a computer maintenance session that the memories of how Boddicker and his men had killed him, he had realised something was wrong when he had never truly been curious about his past - it had never occurred to him to think there was more to it than what he knew - and he had gone looking for answers.

The memories.

Officer Lewis calling him 'Murphy.'

Trying to arrest Antonowsky, who recognised his mannerisms, shouting "YOU'RE DEAD! WE KILLED YOU!"

Checking police records, and learning more about Antonowsky and Boddicker, before bringing up a photograph of Alex Murphy…

Travelling to Murphy's house…

When he had gone to the house, more memories which had nothing to do with Boddicker - a boy and a woman, the boy watching television, a boy dressed in a devil costume and jabbing a plastic pitchfork into his face, a pumpkin on a nearby counter, a woman telling him how much she loved him…

But it wasn't until he removed his faceplate with the drill Lewis had given him, exposing his face that RoboCop finally admitted the truth even if the news Murphy's wife and son - he didn't know who they were, the memories were there, but no matter how hard he tried he could not free the names out of his memory thanks to OCP's tampering - had moved away had hurt.

But now Boddicker was dead, RoboCop accepted the truth.

He was Alex Murphy.

He had no idea how long it would take, but he would reassemble his life, and he didn't care if OCP stood in the way or not; they may have remodelled him and turned him into a cyborg, but he was still human, and he wanted to get some of his old life back.
