Hello everyone! How're you all? Merry Christmas in advance to everyone! Hope this Christmas, along with this year goes fine and safe for you all and May Almighty give us the ability to tolerate all the negative things as well as to be prepared for the next year.

As a participant of secret Santa game conducted by me and Emi (Emerald Vivienne Ramira Mayvin), I've written this fic. It is my second KaiHil sci-fi as well as the second KaiHil sci-fi in this site.

Dedicated to: cc992 (Munia) and rock the road (Rumu). These are two of my cutest, sweetest and most adorable little sisters who've given me a lot of respect, love and adoration. Muni, Roma-I'm really grateful to you both for being so ardent, dedicated and big-hearted readers and supporters. Here, Misty Di gives her Christmas gift for your both. Enjoy!

Since Munia (cc992) is from Kolkata and is a Bengali, for her, I've added a famous song composed by Rabindranath Tagore in this fic. The readers who are Bengali may recognize it. Specially you Munia, do mention the name of the song in the review section if you've recognized it :P

So...enjoy! :D

24th December. It was the evening before the Christmas day. In every house, lights were glowing in the seven hues of the rainbow. Children were squealing in excitement, unable to wait for their gifts which would be given to them by Santa at night. Though moms had told them that they wouldn't get them if they didn't sleep, they didn't think that they would be able to enjoy a peaceful siesta that night. Women were busy in preparing roasted turkey and other traditional dishes. Adolescents were making cards and decorating the Christmas tree. Everyone was busy, yet, no one was tired. It was a festival after all, working for the occasion itself was another source of enjoyment.

Outside, the sheets of dense fog covered the trees and most of the portions of the buildings. The low huts couldn't be seen properly for the white, congesting, mysterious mist. Stars lit the tiny lamps in the sky, the moon became the brightest. The temperature was lowering, tending to zero. Even in Japan, soon, it could snowfall anytime. That's why, people couldn't be seen that much on the roads. Streets were quite empty. As a result, the brunette standing under a shady tree was avoided easily by the passers-by. The shade given by the large and widespread tree overshadowed the fallen shadow of the girl. Propping her back against the stem, she remained there.

Miserable her condition was. She was shivering in cold badly, her teeth were clattering together. There wasn't much warm cloth that could cover her-in a sense, she herself had ditched them, not feeling their necessity. Her legs shook, she could fall on the ground anytime. Crossing her arms on her chest and holding her own shoulders, she was trying to receive some warmth but a complete failure her attempt became. The only hot thing was the droplets of tears rolling down on her cheeks. She sniffed, wiping them. Her heart was aching badly, she didn't want to remember those harsh, imaginary words thrown at her in her nightmares just like daggers but her brain was cheating her, reminding her how worthless she was right then.

I glimpse you now and then

Why not forever more?

Why do clouds engulf my heart?

Not letting me see

The clouds of illusion blind me

Not letting me see….

'Why, Kai, why?' She silently asked her lover who wasn't present there, 'Is it such a trouble for you to utter those three or four words to me? I just placed the letter on your table but you didn't even read it once. Don't you have any importance of my words to yourself? Am I so worthless? Maybe, you don't know to read mind but cannot you even understand the left hints? Why do you hurt me so much?

No, Kai, you have no fault. Why am I even blaming you? One-sided love is such a bitch, you know. It can only give pain and burning sensations to one's heart. I wish I really could give up my feelings so that I could be free from these pangs but I'm stranded, helpless! I cannot do it; my heart doesn't want me to do it. What should I do now, Kai?'

The more she had tried to tell him, the more he'd ignored her. Why? The slate-haired Russian might not have any feeling for her but never had he avoided her before it. Why these days then? Did he…get a suitable partner somehow who was much better than the brunette? How would she win his heart? Which makeup should she apply? Which dress did she have to wear? She'd even attempted to make beef steak which was his favorite dish, knowing the quote that to win the heart of a man, his stomach must be won at first. Nonetheless, the ice-prince didn't melt a bit. What else was left for her?

In a sliver of light, in the blink of an eye,

When I catch a glimpse of you,

I am ever fearful of losing you

Only to lose you in a flash

I lose you before my hopes are met

I lose you before I can blink my eye

I lose you before my heart is soothed

I lose you in a flash…

"You can see him sometimes, not forever, right?"

Another womanly voice under the tree was quite unexpected for the brunette. Startled, she turned to see the second woman there. She was a bit elder than the brunette, having a chubby figure and round face. With round-framed spectacles, she was looking like a cartoon, having a mischievous smile around her thin, slightly folded lips. Long black hair was braided loosely. Wearing a pair of denim trousers, a grey top under her black sweatshirt and a black scarf hung around her neck, she was looking very mysterious. To her back, a backpack was attached as if she'd been a traveler. Seeing her, Hilary quickly wiped her tears and sniffed, pretending normal. However, her mental condition couldn't remain hidden from the stranger.

"You?" She asked, "Who're you? What are you doing here?"

"You don't know me but I surely do," The reply wasn't direct, "Hilary Tachibana, one of the members of Bladebreakers, the world-famous, legendary beyblade team. The princess, guarded by six charming, valiant knights in shining amour-is alone here? Grieving because the heartless commander-in-chief doesn't care about what she feels for him? Now now, that's a tragedy."

"What the hell are you saying?" Hilary was red though she wasn't ready to accept it, "I-I don't have anything for Kai."

"Haha…I didn't even mention his name once and it's already at the tip of your tongue. Interesting," She winked, "But crying here isn't really gonna work, I hate to say that."

"Then what should I do?" The chocolate-haired girl screamed, "Day by day, my feelings for him are going intense and I myself am getting crushed under this heavy weight! Neither I can tell him because I fear rejection, nor can I hide it like a treasure in any closet at all! It's being impossible for me! I…I think I should run away from the Bladebreakers, forever…to such a place where nobody will be able to know me, let alone locating or finding me."

"The princess will escape?" The raven-haired girl patted her head, "Uh-oh, this doesn't suit Hilary Tachibana at all."

"Whatever," Hilary shrugged, "But…pardon me, you're blabbering so much but haven't mentioned your name yet. May I know it?"

"Misty," The girl in her early twenties answered calmly, "You can call me Mist or Mistyflower too if you want!"

"Mist…." Hilary whispered, watching the fog which was getting denser eventually, "You're as mysterious as your name."

"People say that to me often," Misty agreed with her, "But whenever any angel like you is crying, I cannot hold myself anymore. I have to come and help."

"How do you understand it?"

"Simple," She winked, "I'm a mind-reader."

"Huh?" The brunette cocked a brow, "Really?"

"Misty never lies," The elder girl confirmed, "Need any proof?"

"Sure!"

"Okay, right now, you're thinking to return the dojo and take part in the preparations for Christmas but you cannot," Misty explained, "Because you don't want to face the commander-in-chief, or, the mighty Kai Hiwatari because of your embarrassment. C'mon girl, aren't you Hilary Tachibana? Why do you fear him so much?"

The jaw of the brunette dropped as she witnessed her secret ability. Somehow, she stammered, "How...how do you do it?"

"I've a gadget," The girl brought out a black device from her backpack which resembled a hearing aid, "Using this, you can read the minds of people as well as all the living beings on the earth."

The eyes of the brunette were dry, showering no more water-blobs. Curious, she took it from her hands and adjusted it to her ears. Right then, she got to hear something from one of the upper branches of the tree. The voices seemed to belong to a pair of birds in their nest, chirping.

"What the hell have these crazy girls started?" The female one seemed pissed off, "Won't they let us sleep?"

"You're right, they are way crazy," Her partner concurred, "Actually, human beings claim themselves as the best creatures of the Creator but in fact, they don't even know that they are the dumbest!"

The brown-haired lass giggled at the words of the avian creatures, feeling amused. Misty asked, "How was it?"

"So awesome!" Hilary leapt, "May I borrow the device from you for a few days?"

"Why?" She frowned.

"Well…actually, I really want Kai to realize my feelings for him," The brunette flushed deeply, lowering her gazes, "That's why, I'll put it in his ear when he'll be sleeping. Then…."

"Your plan is perfect," Misty appreciated her, "But you know, you really don't need to do it."

"Why?" The younger girl was a tad confused.

"Because…." Misty whispered, "He's coming."

Before hearing her words, Hilary got to hear his. Though the Russian was still much far from them, she could listen to his footsteps. They were restless and fast as if that pair of feet had been searching for something or someone precious. After two or three seconds, his charming but tired voice, which he might have gained from overworking, chimed in her ears too.

'Where has this girl vanished? Vanishing is my trait, not hers. Is she playing with me? For finding her, I've come so far from the dojo. I've been so reckless to find her out that I even forgot to tell others while leaving. Were they worrying about me? Nah, they aren't.

Hilary….where're you? Why do you enjoy so much to tease me in this way? Don't you know that….I love you? No, how'll you know? You're a human being, not any extraordinary mind-reader. I wish I could speak those three magical words to you…but how? I was never close to any girl before it, I don't know how to talk to them or how to make them feel happy and satisfied. You're the first girl in my life on whom I've got a huge crush. How'll I express my heart? How'll I break the ice walls that are imprisoning me from all the directions?

Like you, I'm not a mind-reader either…do you feel the same how I do? Do you have feelings for me too? Duh, what the crazy things I'm thinking now! Is it even possible? You're carefree, cheerful-never had any interest towards romantic affairs or love. Maybe, my dream of attaining you will remain as a dream only. Okay, let it be, I won't mind at all. I've got you in my heart, I don't want anything else in this world."

Hilary listened to all the words, speechless and awestruck. Was it really Kai Hiwatari who was thinking these things about her? She froze though the temperature didn't reach zero degree Celsius yet. Despite staying on the ground, her feet went deeper than the roots of the tree under which they both were standing. All the hairs on her body stood up in passion, she shuddered uncontrollably. Misty started smirking, examining her facial expressions. Nearing her, she patted her head but the brunette didn't notice it. Again, her arid eyes became filled like ponds in monsoon. Biting her lips, she let them fall, breaking the barrier.

Tell me how to attain you

To keep you within my sight

Where will I find so much love, O Lord?

To give you place in my heart

Can I dare to?

If you are not kind who can dare?

If you do not come yourself

Who can keep you in their heart?

"Kai…." She covered her face, "I…I did never know that he loved me so much! He…he is such a true lover, Misty!"

"Lucky girl," The elder girl pinched her cheeks, "So, do you still want to run away from the Bladebreakers?"

"Nope!" Hilary furiously shook her head, "I don't need it now."

"That's my Hilary Tachibana!" Misty cheered, "Well, Kai's close. If he sees me here, it won't be a good thing for us, I guess. So, I'm leaving. Take care and best of luck!"

"Wait…" The brunette yelled but too late it was, already the mysterious Misty had vanished. Sighing, the girl looked forward. Within a few seconds, pervading the swaying curtains of the heavy mist, a shadowy figure approached her. She could easily recognize the person, it was none other than Kai Hiwatari, the ice-captain of Bladebreakers himself. His amethysts were bloodshot. Even in the crazy winter evening, he was sweating. His breaths sounded irregular as though he'd had an intense workout session before coming here. Somehow, eyeing the girl, he gritted his teeth and queried, "Where the hell have you been?"

"Kai…" Hilary said, "I'm sorry."

"Hn, okay," Her sweet voice snatched his irritation, "We're getting late, the team needs your help to decorate the Christmas tree. Let's go."

"And you?"

Her question made him stand like a statue there. He gave her an inquiring look which meant that he couldn't catch her words. She clarified it, "I mean…what do you need?"

Pink tints glowed in his cheeks. Even in the darkness and the lack of light, it couldn't flee from the eyes of the brunette. Folding his arms on his chest and kept staring at the ground for a few seconds, he raised his orbs and placed them on her façade. Hilary waited patiently, not being so demanding and giving him a chance to prepare himself. He didn't misuse it, according to her expectation. Heading towards her, he gently squeezed her shoulders and dived in her ruby orbs, "Your love."

Those two words. They were enough to make those salty waterworks of happiness cascade from her garnet pools. They were silent, so was she, gaping at his serene and honest face without blinking. The world stopped for them; she didn't shiver anymore as his hands were still placed on her shoulders. Then slowly, she leaned her head against his chest, encircling him with her lean arms. When she felt that his brawny triceps were also around her back and fingers laid on her head, the speed of her tears got doubled. The coldness was snatched from her by his embrace. Everything was forgotten by both. Every dissatisfaction, each incompleteness. Only the golden, flashing future was there.

"You've no idea…" She murmured, sobbing, "How much I've waited for those words…."

"And your need?"

"I love you too."

The hug became tighter but the brunette didn't feel suffocated. Rather, it was warm, safe and secured. After a few minutes, they both parted.

"Shall we go now?" Kai asked.

"Hm." She nodded, holding his hand, "Let's go."

"Wait a minute," The captain put off his jacket and placed it over her shoulders, "You're shivering. You won't feel cold anymore."

"Thanks Kai…." She blushed, "But I don't need it. Really."

"But I do." His voice sounded demanding as he snickered wickedly, "It is warm but if you want, I can give you more warmth."

"Pervert!" Hilary blushed again, placing her head on his shoulder. Encompassing her neck gently, they both walked away maintaining the position, leaving all the darkness and the burdens of their hearts behind.

None else will I look up to

If you command, I will this very moment

With all my heart and soul

Surrender my passions and possessions

I will surrender at your feet

I will surrender without hesitation

I will surrender to you my passions and possessions…

Yep, the fic is finished! Yayy!

So, this is not sad or that much heavy-hearted, I think. Otherwise, you all would sue me in an international court for writing so many tragedies these days. Oh, on this Christmas Eve, I wanna share a good news with you all! Lionel Messi, my real life-crush has surpassed Pele, breaking his record of scoring the highest number of goals for a single club. Pele 643; Leo 644. Not only that, Messi has decided to give beer bottles to those goalkeepers against whom he scored those 644 goals (Poor Ter Stegen though xD). I cannot wait for the June of 2021 when I'll write the G.O.A.T.

Tyson: Yesss! *Rotates his cap back* Look Misty, I'm exactly looking like that footballer whose role I'm gonna get!

Me: *Examines* Yep, just a bit chubby. Don't worry, have a great workout and you'll be a perfect...ahem, let's not mention his name.

Tyson: *Sighs* Yeah yeah, gonna do that soon.

Me: *Evilly chuckles* Honestly speaking, Tyson, I cannot really wait to crush every single bone of your body in the G.O.A.T. ;)

Tyson: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!

Ahem, ignore that conversation. That was only for fun, Misty isn't really that heartless :P

Everything aside, Mun, Roma-I hope you both have really liked this fanfiction. Let's see whether this fic has been successful to protect my reputation as a "KaiHil Queen" or not ;P

Dear people, do read, review, fav and follow. Pardon all the grammatical and spelling errors. Once again, a Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope this festival goes good for you all, so does the next year.

Take care and stay safe :D

-Misty ^_^ ^_^
