That night Vernon quietly picked the boy up from the cupboard that he was sleeping in and put him in the car that the company allowed him to use. He traveled the three miles to the peaks and started to walk up one of the trails with the small boy in his arms. Halfway up went off the path and walked a few feet in when he saw a pile of leaves and put the boy softly down and left the way he came. Hoping that he would never see the boy again but also wished the boy that he would be safe. For once his father instincts were acting on the act of abandoning his nephew in the woods.
The next morning a man with long black hair was running down the trail without much care or thought. He had done this morning routine since he was eight. He may have been blind since he was fifteen years old, but he knew the trails well enough and since he could sense the cosmos, he always found himself back home. Dohko always thought that he had a homing beacon and that was how he found his way home. He stopped to take a drink out of his water bottle when he heard what sounded like crying. He stayed where he was hoping to hear the sound again it sounded human. When he heard the sound again, he knew it came from his right he ran into that direction. He had to be careful since he knew that it was well off the beaten path and he didn't have a clear path.
Harry had been woken up by a bright light and he knew that he could hear birds chirping. He opened his eyes since he was sure that nothing like this should happen in his cupboard. He first noticed was the trees and started to grow terrified. He knew that his relatives never wanted him and had threaten to send him to an orphanage on several occasions. Never in his wildest dreams did he think they would abandon him in the wilderness by himself. He started to cry his heart out by being abandon and terrified. He got more terrified when he heard sticks breaking and leaves rattling. He figured that it was an animal on the hunt. Suddenly the creature making the noise came into view and he saw a long hair man coming out.
Shiryu felt the boy's cosmos and followed it to where the boy was at, he could tell by the way the cosmos was rolling off him that the boy was terrified. Then again, he would have been too if he were lost. When he felt that he was at least close to the boy he knelt to one knee making sure that he was at the child's level by the way the cosmos was flowing. Shiryu said, "Hey little one I'm not going to hurt you. What happen to you?"
The little one gave him a water smile and said, "I don't know what happen. I was sleeping in my cupboard and woke up here I guess my relatives finally found a way to get rid of me."
Shiryu didn't like that statement at all and said, "My name is Shiryu and somehow you found your way, or your relatives found their way to drop you off at my training grounds. I live here with my wife and sensei. If you want, I can take you there, I'm sure my wife would just love to make food for you."
Harry once again gave a smile and said, "I guess I have nowhere else to go. My name is freak or boy."
Shiryu replied, "I don't think that's your real name but don't worry we're get you a real name soon think of one on our journey back to my house."
As the two traveled Harry found out that Shiryu was a knight for Athena and was working on getting the gold cloth.
Harry asked, "Shiryu, how does one go about becoming a knight for Athena?"
Shiryu replied, "Little one, being a knight is a tough life. You train for years and even then, you might not become a knight. You could even die from the training alone. It's a hard life and only the strong will survive. I know you can become a knight I felt the cosmos in you and its stronger than most humans which is what a knight need. But once you start training you must keep going there is no quitting. You either become a knight or die trying. Think about if you want to risk your life then come back to me."
Harry nodded to him then noticed something that he wouldn't have noticed if he didn't see his face so close. Harry asked, "Shiryu, sorry if I'm blunt, but are you blind?"
Shiryu was shocked but didn't show it but said, "Yes little one I am blind. I have been blind since I was fourteen almost fifteen, but even though I am blind I have one way of seeing and that is through the cosmos. Also, if the cosmos thinks I need to see the threat then I may get a small look at the enemy before the blindness comes back."
Harry nodded he knew what that meant. As they reached the house, he was shocked to see a small cottage and a temple a few feet away. He did have to admit the scenery was beautiful. As Shiryu lead him toward the house both boys could smell the aroma of eggs and pancakes. Shiryu opened the door and pushed the boy inside before stepping in himself. Walking into the kitchen Shiryu could sense his wife near the stove and his sensei at the table. Walking toward the table Harry followed him trying to stay close to the only person he knew and was doing well by trying to be invisible.
Shiryu sat down and took the boy by his leg and sat him in his lap and said, "Sensei, Shunrei, I would like you to meet our guest. I found him out in the woods while on my run. It seems his relatives left him there while he was asleep."
Shunrei turned around to see a malnutrition boy and was seeing red as she quickly made a plate for the little boy that could clearly need the food. She set the plate down and said, "Sweetheart, eat what you can and if you want more just let me know and I'll get you more. My name is Shunrei, I'm Shiryu's wife. What's your name?"
Harry replied, "I don't know my true name as Shiryu told me that freak or boy isn't my name. Even though that is all my relatives ever called me."
Dohko was beyond piss. He hated abusers and he could clearly tell this child was abused he had saw the bruise on his shoulder that was healing. He looked at the boy and said, "My child I agree with Shiryu on the name. Don't worry we will help you pick out the perfect name. My name is Dohko."
As the group sat and ate Shunrei made sure that the little boy ate until he was full. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she felt like she knew this boy from somewhere. Like she heard of his description. She did think it was unique that he had a lightning bolt scar on his forehead. She never seen a scar like that before.
Shunrei said, "Little one, do you happen to know your relatives' names or where you live?"
Harry replied, "No I always had to call them aunt and uncle but not their given names. We just moved here. They stated it was only for a few months I don't know for how long though."
Shiryu knew that they didn't move anywhere near here as the closest thing to this mountain was a few small villages and they knew everybody. Nobody new moved in that area so it would have to be a few miles out where it was more populated. Shiryu shuddered he hated going into the populated area's it was hard for him to maneuver because of his disability. Dohko knew that it would be next to near impossible to find this boy's family so he knew that he would have to convince Shiryu and Shunrei to take the boy in.
Shiryu smiled at the boy that he knew his family was falling for it was exactly what they needed. He also felt the cosmos strong in him it felt like his when he was about the child's age. Unlike his brothers he always felt the cosmos and understood what he would become. He knew that he couldn't fight it so when his brothers were finding out about what they were to become he had already made peace with his destiny. He knew the boy didn't feel it yet and was wondering if he would want to be a saint. He didn't lie to the boy and he would make a perfect replacement for the bronze dragon knight. It would also make it easier on Dohko who wanted Shiryu to become the gold Libra knight. It wasn't that Shiryu didn't want the gold cloth it was he wanted to train someone for the dragon cloth, and he didn't want to put the dragon to rest without training a replacement since the dragon cloth had helped him on multiple occasions.
Shunrei said, "Will there isn't much we can do today. I'll take the boy to the town tomorrow to see if anyone report him missing."
Dohko nodded as he said, "Little one, have you thought of a name you would want to call yourself if we can't find your relatives?"
Dohko already knew that even if they did find the boy relatives, they wouldn't leave the boy in their care. He felt the boy cosmos and was shocked it was exactly like Shiryu's. The reason why it was a shock was that everyone's cosmos was different even twins had different cosmos. Never had he seen two cosmoses the same. He wondered if the dragon cloth was the one responsible for this. He knew that no one ever wore the dragon cloth before Shiryu, and he knew that Shiryu was the true Dragon knight the cloth told secretes to Shiryu. It always amused Dohko to no end when Pope Shion, asked Shiryu how he could fight so well with or without the cloth. Shiryu just smiled and said, "Pope Shion, with no disrespect, but the dragon cloth would be upset if I told all my secretes."
Harry shook his head he didn't have any ideas. He didn't know much about names to pick out one or what any of them meant. He did have one thing he did enjoy besides reading and that was dragons. He said, "I want something to show strengths like dragons show."
Shunrei laughed and said, "Like Shiryu's name little one. Shiryu means purple dragon."
Shiryu stuck his tongue out at Shunrei which had the boy laughing but it brought back a thought from a movie that he had seen only a few minutes of when he was dusting the living room. Dudley was watching the movie and there was a small dragon in it if he remembered right the woman had called him a lizard and he got very mad and said, "Dragon, dragon I don't do that tongue thing." Then stuck out his tongue and made a hiss. If he correctly remembered the dragon's name was Mushu.
Harry said, "How about Mushu."
Shiryu and Shunrei smiled as they noticed that he had picked out a name from a movie. Shunrei had seen it when Shiryu was training one day and feel in love with the little dragon. Dohko nodded to the boy who was now known as Mushu. Shiryu looked at peace and thought that the dragon cloth wanted the boy to be its next knight.
