Lucy had had an epiphany.
After waking up with her face mushed into a head of pink hair for the third time this week; she had finally figured out the way to solve the problem.
She tried locks on the window, screaming, kicking and reasoning with him, but the sheer lack of effect this had on the dragon slayer was driving Lucy insane. But now all that stress was over. Because Lucy had the solution.
"But I don't want a bed Lucy." Natsu whined on their way to the guild, still nursing his cheek from that morning's Lucy kick.
"Natsu it's a Christmas present you can't say no." Lucy said, still smug from her genius idea.
Natsu pouted. "Why would I need a bed when I can just use yours?" Lucy whipped her head around to glare at him, all smugness fading from her face. "You can't use mine! That's what I've been saying the while time!"
The dragon slayer frowned and turned towards her, unfazed by her burning eyes. "But why? It's not like me being there stops you from being there too. We can both fit."
Lucy bit down her scream of frustration. "No we don't fit! I can barely squeeze in and it's my bed, I shouldn't have to worry about fitting into my own bed!"
Natsu shifted his gaze to the ground, then his eyes lit up in realisation. "I get it!" He grinned, spinning back to face a sceptical Lucy.
"You're gonna get a bigger bed!"
Lucy stared at him in shock. "What? No! Natsu it's your Christmas present, it's going in your house."
Natsu frowned at the ground again. "But I don't want a bed," he said softly, "yours will be better anyway."
Lucy sighed as she pushed the guild doors open. "You don't know that Natsu."
Natsu glanced sideways at Lucy before followed her inside.
