The next day Shiryu and Dohko teleported the two children to the train station in London. Mushu and Hermione both looked tired since they had a late night and early morning. As Shiryu got them situated on the train as the two teens were about to fall asleep. He looked out the window and saw an old woman talking to Dohko along with a teen boy with brown hair and a blond hair girl. He walked off the train and said, "Dohko, the two are situated and probably asleep. I wish I had thought ahead and took them home sooner than I did."
Dohko chuckled and said, "The kids had fun and they will just use the train ride to sleep. Thankfully, it's Friday so they will have two days to get back on schedule. Plus, knowing Hermione she would make sure that they are both ready for class come Monday. Now I think you would like to meet your nephew Neville Longbottom, his and the kids friend Luna Lovegood, and your mother Augusta Longbottom."
Shiryu looked at the old woman who was his mother and smiled at her. Seeing his mother was the second-best thing about the goblins giving back his vision Mushu was the first. He could see that she was having a hard time holding back her tears as she was smiling at her son. His brown eyes sparkled as he went to give her a hug. He also gave Neville and Luna a hug and told them to keep an eye on Hermione and Mushu and to let them sleep. Neville nodded as the two went to go find which cart the two were sleeping in.
Shiryu looked at his mother and said, "Mum, I would love to get to know you and if you have no problem with it, I have time after the train leaves."
Augusta smiled as she realized that both Shunrei and Dohko weren't lying about Shiryu wanting to meet and get to know her. She smiled and said, "I would love that son, if you don't mind, I can also take you to meet your brother and sister-in-law. They don't know anything as they lost their mind thanks to the first war."
Shiryu replied, "I would love to meet my younger half-brother and his wife. I am always glad to meet my family that I never got to know when I was younger. I hated my father as he never told me who my mother was then he died when I was nine, I gave up on ever knowing. I just went on with my life not caring while it hurt when my brothers would talk about what they remember about their mothers and I knew absolutely nothing."
As the train left Dohko teleported back to China along with letting Shunrei know that Shiryu was going to spend some time with his mum. While Shiryu went with Augusta to Saint Mungo's. Shiryu was listening to how his brother and his wife ended up in Saint Mungo. She also went over how Mushu became the boy who lived. Shiryu was glad that Mushu lost that lightning bolt scar. Shiryu told his mom when Dohko told him when Mushu lost the lightning bolt scar.
Augusta was shocked when she heard how Mushu lost his scar. She said, "Son, I got to ask since I know that both Dohko and Shunrei both told me you are blind how are you able to move so well?"
Shiryu replied, "I was blind mom since I was 14 years old. When the goblins did the ritual somehow, they were able to restore my eyesight once again. I was pissed at first because I have become so use to fighting and moving around blind and now, I can see again. Now, I'm glad I can see since I got to see you, Neville, and my son."
Augusta nodded as they reached the hospital and she talked to the nurse who just smiled and let them in. Shiryu was wondering if Saga, Kanon, or Ikki could help with his brother and sister-in-law. As she talked to them, he watched wondering how his younger brother use to be, before the incident. He decided right then that he would ask his bother and comrades next time he got the chance he hoped that there was a way his nephew deserved his parents every child did.
When the two left after two hours they went back to the manor where they kept talking about the past and Shiryu got stories about his younger brother. Augusta started to cry when she heard the stories on how Shiryu lost his eyesight. Shiryu avoided telling her about almost dying acts. Except for when he fought Shura of Capricorn. Shiryu smiled as his mom hugged him when he realized that it was close to five pm. He told his mom that he had to leave to take care of something then he wanted to spend time with Shunrei.
As he left, he teleported to the house that Hermione had told him. He noticed it was a nice house. He saw that the car was in the driveway, so he knew that they were home. He walked to the front door and knocked on it. He waited a few minutes before he knocked again suddenly the door open to a man standing there looking slightly pissed off at being interrupted. Shiryu said, "I'm sorry about the late interruption but I would like to talk to you and your wife about your daughter Hermione."
The man's face turned even angrier, but he allowed the man in. His wife was not happy about her dinner with her husband's being interrupted but didn't let the man notice it.
Shiryu sat down and said, "Again I'm sorry for interrupting you. My name is Shiryu, I wanted to talk to you two about your daughter Hermione. I am Mushu's father and was concern by how she acted when she was at my house. She seems to not open until one of my brothers talked to her as she said that she didn't know how to act. I was just wondering if that was normal behavior for her along with why you two were okay with her going out of country for the holiday."
The woman said, "Please call me Emma and my husband's name, is Dan. Growing up Hermione has had problems making friends. As you may have noticed she is highly brilliant and after most children her age found out they used her or bullied her. We didn't have a problem going to China with your son because we had asked her to stay at the school since we wouldn't have been home much with how much work we had at the dentist office. We were okay with her going to a friend's house that we have heard so much of."
Shiryu replied, "I can understand that Mushu was raised away from people since me and my wife live in isolation in China, but Hermione didn't seem to know how to deal in a family situation even after Christmas she was always trying to stay in the background and when she was asleep, she would mumble about feeling safe with me and my wife."
Dan replied, "We don't act like parents to Hermione, when she is home, she is mostly by herself as we own and work long hours at the dentistry. The only time that we spend with her is normally on our summer holiday trips. When she was younger, we spent a lot of time with her and loved being parents, but it seems to change when she started to show her magic. After that was when everything changed. When she started school last year, I noticed that I couldn't understand what she was talking, and I didn't want to. Now we just house her and take her on holidays."
Shiryu noticed that Emma was nodding, he hated how people could just not care or try to understand when somebody was different from what they deem as normal.
Shiryu said, "As it seems that you really don't want to deal with Hermione, my wife and I would like to know if you would let us adopt her. If you both want to see her, we won't get in the way but from what I noticed she really wants a true family."
Emma replied, "Give us time so we can ask Hermione what she wants and let her decide. I agree that I don't agree with her being in the Wizardry world, but I want what will be best for my daughter."
Shiryu nodded as he got up and walked down the street before he teleported back to China and went to bed. His wife was already asleep, and he was happy to follow her in dream land.
On the train Neville and Luna were watching their friends sleep wondering why they were tired and just decided to take the man's word to heart and let them sleep. When it became around 2pm they weren't surprised to see Mushu wake up and stretch to loosen up his muscles.
Luna said, "Sleep well."
Mushu replied, "I did have a good nap thank you Luna. Both Hermione and I were up late last night seeing as one of my Uncles had a party and dad let us stay later than we normally would. He looked over at Hermione and decided to let her sleep a little longer.
Luna asked, "So, what did everyone do during the yule holidays?"
Mushu smiled and said, "My dad woke up the night before yule and was able to come home so we enjoyed the holiday with each other and Hermione."
Neville said, "I spent it with my parents even though they don't recognize me and gran or even each other we go every year."
Mushu replied, "I'm sorry Neville, I know my dad wants to find out if he could help your parents and is probably going to go to a few of my uncles about the situation."
Luna replied, "Wow I feel like I got the wrong end of the deal my dad was sick, so I was taking care of him for the whole holiday. He's okay now."
Mushu replied, "I'm glad he's doing okay and I'm glad that Athena is allowing my dad to recover at home even though he hasn't taken it easy. My grandfather is watching him like a hawk and keeps threating to sick Athena on him."
Neville laughed as he had heard about how his Uncle acts and that the only way to get him the help when injured was his goddess.
As they got closer to Hogsmeade Mushu woke up Hermione. She yawned and stretched and saw that they were close to school. She made sure that she had everything ready as the others did the same, they were glad that they didn't have to wear their uniforms until Monday. As they got back to Hogwarts the four separated to their tables Neville and Hermione went to Gryffindor while Luna and Mushu went over to Ravenclaw.
The next day Mushu was up early and went for his morning run he was glad to see every one of his friends met up with him. He was getting worried about the students being petrified thankfully, none was petrified at Christmas time. He was trying to find out what had petrified those victims. He had been looking into snakes as he remembered the Greek mythology of Medusa. Dohko had told him the tale when he had a problem sleeping earlier in the holiday. Now that he had Hogwarts library, he was researching on his free time with Hermione helping when she could. He was only the start and had figured if he just went through all the snakes then he can rule them out one by one.
A month later Shiryu was glad that he could do his normal activities again. He was finally given a clean bill of health which for him meant that he didn't have to rely on Dohko to keep an eye on Libra and he could go back to practicing. Since he had the time now, he went to go and find the three knights that he needed to talk to. He was hoping to do it earlier, but Athena had banned him from Sanctuary after Ikki had won the gold Leo cloth. Seeing Kanon he waved him over and asked if he happen to know where Saga and Ikki were. Kanon told him to get Ikki from Leo and meet him at Gemini in an hour. Shiryu nodded as he ran toward the Leo temple to find his brother. Once he got there, he shook his head as he heard Ikki and Aioria arguing with each other.
Shiryu said, "I hate to interrupt this argument, but I need to borrow my brother for a while."
Ikki and Aioria turned their head to see Shiryu standing there. Ikki got up as Aioria told Ikki that they will settle it later. As they were leaving Shiryu asked, "You want to talk about what you were arguing about this time?"
Ikki replied, "Nothing too important I just got all the rules and like you and Hyoga I don't necessary agree with all of them."
Shiryu replied, "If this is the one about Athena can automatically say where we get our medical treatment like she did with Mushu and me."
Ikki nodded and said, "I can understand the rule but at the same time we should have a say."
Shiryu replied, "We do have a say Ikki unless we are unconscious and unable to protect ourselves. Since we are gold knights, we must be protected at that time so Athena will have the last say. She didn't have to pull rank with Mushu as he is just a bronze, she did for the simple fact is that Dohko was allowing it. If Dohko had stated to only take me she would have left Mushu there, but we aren't letting the Potter's know that little fact."
Ikki replied, "You really don't like the Potter's do you."
Shiryu said, "I don't know the Potter's I only met them for not even a full day before I was out. I don't like what I have heard about how they have been treating my son. I raised Mushu since he was four and I haven't once hurt Mushu. He wanted to become a knight and protect Athena I will see to it that he does. The Potter's want him to pull pranks and do as they say. I have always let him speak his opinion unless it came to training, and I will see to it that he is heard and if he wants to live with the Potter's I will let him if he wants nothing to do with them then I will also allow it."
Ikki smirked and said, "In that case you will win the battle, he has no desire to be anywhere near the Potter's."
As the two knights got to the Gemini temple, they weren't surprised to see that Kanon and Saga were already there.
Saga looked at his watch and said, "Your late."
Shiryu replied, "Sorry Saga, I had to wait for the argument between Ikki and Aioria to stop before I could speak and steal my brother away."
Kanon asked, "What did you need to speak with us three?"
Shiryu replied, "I found out that I have half bother on my mom's side. He and his wife were in a fight and were tortured to insanity. I was wondering if any of you three might be able to help them since the mind is your guy's expertise."
Kanon asked, "Do you happen to know what caused their insanity?"
Shiryu replied, "My mom told me that they were under the Cruciatus curse also known as the torture curse. It feels like a thousand hot knives being beaten into you. They still function but they have no memory and just tend to walk around with a blank look."
Saga replied, "Hm, sounds like they are just stuck in their minds. A lot of torture victims do it from time to time to get away from the pain. I think that we might be able to help them since all three of us have started to work on a way around our powers to use it as a healing then just as an attack."
Shiryu nodded as he said, "My mom has given up hope but if you are willing to try to help them, I would appreciate it."
Ikki nodded and said, "As much as I hate hospitals if you can get us in, I will try to help your brother and his wife. We all agreed when we were bronze knights that if it were a family issue then we would try to be there for each other."
Shiryu nodded as he remembered that day well it was right after they defeated Poseidon. The five brothers had stated if they were ever in trouble or someone they saw as family then to give them a call.
Saga said, "So, are you going to be able to get us in?"
Shiryu replied, "I can I just need to know when you want to get this done."
Kanon said, "The sooner the better how long have they been in this condition?"
Shiryu replied, "11 years it happened some time in November of 1981."
Kanon replied, "Then the sooner the better."
Shiryu said, "I have time to do it tomorrow afternoon. I must go to England tomorrow to have a talk with the headmaster and Deputy headmaster. I asked for a conference plus I have heard from Mushu that he has only been running around the school and we told two professors that he needed a place to train. I am going to put them in their place or pull my child out."
Saga replied, "Please just pull the boy out I heard what he told Aldebaran and I don't think he is happy and those people you saved are just as awful."
Shiryu rolled his eyes at Saga and walked away not bothering to listen to Saga act like a drama king. He knew that none of the knights were happy with Mushu going to school and he was with them, but it was Mushu's call.
The next day Shiryu walked towards the school with a look of disinterested. He was never amazed about castles and he thought that the temples of Sanctuary were far grander than anything else that was ever built. As he walked in glad that he was out of the cold even though it was still slightly chilly inside, but he just used his cosmos to stay warm he hated the cold, but he was trained in snow only wearing a tank top and jogging pants. Walking in the hall he heard buzzing of noise coming from an open area which he saw what the whole school population must be. He walked in and stopped by how huge the group was.
Mushu was sitting at the Ravenclaw table talking to Neville, Hermione, and Luna. The four had been sitting at the same table since November and the teachers didn't seem to care that Hermione and Neville were never at their own table anymore. Luna looked up and saw a man standing there in disbelief like he had never seen so many people before. She whispered, "I wonder who that man is?"
Mushu looked up and got up and ran to the man. As he meant up with the man, he gave him a hug and said, "Papa, what are you doing here?"
Shiryu hugged his son back and said, "I have a meeting with the headmaster and deputy headmaster, but I have no idea where I was supposed to go so, I followed the noise and hoped to find someone who can lead me to them."
Mushu replied, "They are right up in front the one with the white beard and the woman next to him."
Shiryu nodded as he sat on the other side of the table, so he was in front of his son.
Luna replied, "Good morning Mr. Shiryu, you look better than you did the day that I met you."
Shiryu smiled and said, "All of you just call me Shiryu. I was still getting my strength back when you met me Luna now, I am one hundred percent better. Mushu, your uncles have been giving me updates about when I was out, and I don't like what I hear. I want to know with your own words how you like school and about the Potter's. With a clear view from you will help me to determine what we will do for the summer and about you coming to school next year."
Mushu sighed now he understood why Aldebaran told him that he would only take the I'm fine at that time since his Papa wasn't able to deal with the issue. Luna and the other three looked at Shiryu then Mushu with shock on their face.
Shiryu said, "It goes for you three as well. My wife already has stated that if you four didn't want to go to this laughingstock of a school she would homeschool you or talk about getting you into the magic school in China. We want you four happy. Hermione have you got a letter from your parents yet."
Hermione replied, "Yes, I got it and told Mushu that I needed time to think about it. I love my parents but like they stated I pretty much raise myself and it might be better to live with you and Shunrei. This way I can act like the child and not play parent as well."
Shiryu replied, "Shunrei, also stated that she would teach you more magic then just what this school could ever do. Just let us know what your decision is when you're ready."
Mushu replied, "Papa, I don't want anything to do with the Potter's I detested them for the two weeks I was awake. I spent a few days with them, and they kept telling me that I need to stop being a saint and start being a child and pull pranks. The school is not the best since the school can't even keep the students safe and I have a funny feeling that Dumbledore knows what's going on and the DADA teacher is a total idiot. I'm in two different mind sets Papa. My saint side wants to protect these students from the danger, while the other side of me just wants to go home."
Shiryu nodded he understood the dilemma and said, "Son, I want you to be safe. I also know that Dohko and I taught you well and you can protect yourself. I don't really know everything that is going on in this school and I am pissed that they never found a place to train which is one of many reason's I have been thinking of pulling you out. I told both teachers and the letter your mom wrote stated that you need a place to train to not get rusty. When I took you and Hermione out to practice, I could tell that you were starting to get rusty and I will not allow it."
Mushu nodded as he noticed it too, they were small but that could cause him to die in a battle.
Shiryu nodded as he got up and went toward the headmaster and said, "Headmaster Dumbledore and Deputy Headmaster McGonagall I believe we have a meeting?"
Dumbledore replied, "I don't remember a meeting."
McGonagall replied, "You must be Shiryu, Mushu's father. Yes, we have a scheduled meeting but you are a few minutes early but that is fine. Let's just finish breakfast and we will go back up to the headmaster's office for the meeting."
Shiryu nodded as he went back to go and sit with his son and his friends as McGonagall went to pass out a sheet of paper to her first two periods. The students who got the paper noticed they were to go to the library as it was a research paper on a transfiguration spell, they were interested in.
Mushu asked, "Papa, what are we going to do about the Potter's?"
Shiryu replied, "It depends Mushu, if they try to get you back from our care well, we will fight but I will find a way to make sure you can choose which thankfully will happen seeing as you are having the bronze cloth makes it will they have to see you as an adult when it comes to what happens to your life. If they don't want to do that, I bring Athena in and let her have a go. Athena doesn't give a damn about anything or anyone who gets in her way. Even us knights stay out of her way when she gets like that and we follow at a safe distance. She does what she wants when she wants."
Mushu nodded he has heard from Seiya and his other uncles how she acts and most of the time it was on impulse.
After breakfast was over McGonagall went over to Shiryu and lead him to the headmaster's office. As they walked toward the office she said, "I'm surprise, you don't seem like your blind but in the letter, it stated that you were."
Shiryu replied, "That was before I went to the goblins and they were able to heal my sight. I was blind since I was 14 years old. My brothers sadly don't believe it will stay that way for long. It happened once before, and my sight only lasted a year before I was blinded once again. Now that I am not actually fighting, I hope to have my sight a lot longer."
Once they made it to the headmaster's office, they weren't surprised to see the headmaster was already there. They had watch him leave a little earlier to get everything ready.
Dumbledore waved his hand for the two to sit down and said, "Lemon drop, tea."
Shiryu and McGonagall denied both as Dumbledore said, "I guess you would need to start Mr. Shiryu as I have no idea what you are concern about."
Shiryu replied, "It's quite simple. I am displeased that my wishes that I know we fully told both Flitwick and Snape. We also mentioned it in the letter that we gave you when he was going to miss first year. All we asked is that he had a place to train as he lives in the wilderness which he needs to be able to defend himself and I noticed this past holiday that he was starting to get rusty. I will not allow that to continue. I understand he runs around the school every morning, but he needs to work on his hand-to-hand combat."
Dumbledore said, "Mr. Shiryu, I understand your frustration, but we are a school, and any type of fighting is prohibited."
Shiryu replied, "That's strange as seeing as this school use to have dueling both magical and muggle but once you took over both were off the list of electives. I'm also not asking you to let him fight just practice in an abandon room for a few hours. If you can't let that happen then I will have no choice to pull him out of this school. I already didn't want him here seeing as this is the worst school to attend and became the laughingstock in the world."
Dumbledore wasn't happy to hear that and said, "I can't allow Mushu to train in the martial arts at this school. If we allow one child, then we would have to let others and that is not something I would like to see is any student to get injured."
Shiryu replied, "Sadly I see that differently seeing as you have some students that are petrify. I guess then that I will be pulling my son out immediately and if Hermione wants to join then her as well. McGonagall when does my son and Hermione get out of there next class."
McGonagall replied, "Well Mushu's is a two-hour class as it's potions and Hermione will be done in an hour as it's Herbology."
Shiryu nodded and said, "I will talk to Hermione when she is done with class and then leave at least with Mushu when he is done with his potions class."
Dumbledore replied, "I can't allow you to pull your son out of this school."
Shiryu replied, "I am his adopted father I can pull him out if I want to and I know that this school is not safe for him as students have been getting petrify since the beginning of the school year. Yet you still can't find the cuprite. Why would I want to keep my son in a place like that?"
McGonagall replied, "I can understand your concern as a father. We are looking into it and haven't found anything."
Dumbledore decided he would have to play his trump card and make it seem like he was helping the Potter adults. He said, "I understand that you adopted Harry Potter and gave him a different name, but you have no legal standing. Two years ago, I found James and Lilly Potter alive and was helping them get better. Apparently, they weren't killed. They asked about their son and I told them that he was missing, and I was trying to find him. Since they are alive then they still have their rights to him."
Shiryu smirked as he said, "Funny you say that Dumbledore as they say differently. See I rescued them back in August and they said, "That you kidnapped them for the last 11 years. I also know that they have spent some time with Mushu while I was unable to be here for my son. Now see here Dumbledore I have adopted him not only in the muggle world but also magically. The Potter's have no claim as they had been supposedly dead. I have read your laws along with the muggle ones and I am in my full right to take my son out of Hogwarts which is what I am doing. Now if you don't mind, I will wait with McGonagall until Mushu gets out of class. If you try to stop me then I will get the governs of this school involved. I am telling you now Mushu isn't coming back. Also, your problem with the students is a Basillisk. If you don't look it directly in the eye it will cause the person to become petrified. If they look into the eye instant death. Now you need to figure out how to kill it and where it's been hidden all this time."
As he left McGonagall walked out with him wondering if he really was pulling his son out of the school.
Shiryu said, "I am serious McGonagall with pulling my son out. If Dumbledore is the headmaster my son will not go here. I know more about the headmaster and his ideas of using my son as a lamb for slaughter. He will not win both me and Dohko knew that something wasn't right when he sent Severus to us in the middle of the year before we even got the letter for what he needed for school. Mushu also has told a few of my comrades that he didn't like it here. I also won't be surprise if you lose a few more students after this. I know for one even Augusta Longbottom has thought of pulling Neville out. I am also trying to get Hermione as her parents have noticed they don't have time to raise Hermione properly, I am waiting for Hermione's decision."
As they got to McGonagall's office, she wrote two notes to Hermione and Mushu to come to her office after class and asked the house elf to give it to Severus and Sprout. As the two adults sat waiting for Hermione who should be there in about fifteen minutes. Shiryu sighed as he knew that he would have a fight on his hands with his son, but it was for the best he didn't lie when he told Dumbledore that it was a Basillisk that was harming the students. He remembered studying snakes when he was trying to figure out what snake was medusa's hair. It's easy to say he still didn't know the answer.
In herbology class Hermione was working with Neville when Sprout came over and gave her a note that she was given by a house elf. Hermione took it from her professor and read it quickly before putting it in her pocket and went back to work. She told Neville that she was going to be late to her next class and to let Flitwick know that she will be late.
In potions Mushu was working on a potion when Snape put a note on his desk away from the ingredients and told Mushu to crush the unicorn horn a little more finely. He was amazed on how well Mushu did sometimes he just needed a little guidance in preparing his ingredients, but it was one reason he didn't mind the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuff he was able to teach them with just little things like if something wasn't crushed right. They normally didn't complain too much. When Mushu had to wait a few minutes before the next item he read the note then put it in his bag and went back to his potion. He wondered why McGonagall needed him for.
Fifteen minutes later Hermione came walking to McGonagall's Office and knocked on the door. She knew that she had some dirt on her uniform, but she didn't have time to get clean up and she was worried why her head of house had to talk to her. As she heard a enter, she walked in seeing both her head of house but Shiryu as well. As she sat down in a seat Shiryu said, "Hermione, I hate doing this, but I am pulling Mushu from school as Dumbledore is going against what I was told could happen. If you want to stay that's fine or I can still take you under my care and your parents and I can finish the guardianship, it's up to you. Either way I will make sure that Mushu keeps in contact with you."
Hermione knew that it was a long shot and asked, "I want to be with Mushu, but both of us are worried about the other students?"
Shiryu replied, "I already informed both Dumbledore and McGonagall that they are looking for a Basillisk. What they do with the information is their decision."
Hermione replied, "If you can get your son to agree to go home with you then I will too."
Shiryu nodded and said, "If you want you can go to your next class or you can go and pack since I haven't talked to Mushu and I already know that he didn't unpack most of his stuff. He likes his things to be neat and only takes out what he needs."
Hermione nodded as she had noticed that during the Yule when he showed her his room. Nothing was out of place and if it, wasn't where it should be Mushu would quickly put it where it belongs. She said, "I'll like to go to Charms and when it's done, I will pack and meet you here."
Shiryu nodded as he watched the young witch left. Shiryu brought out a blank sheet of paper and a pen and started to pen a letter to Hermione's parents. McGonagall was surprised to see how well prepared he was if he had everything put in place before hand. He looked at the professor and said, "I had this plan since Yule when I saw how surprised and happy, she was at my home with my wife and Mushu. I ended up talking to her parents and we both left it up to Hermione to choose what she wanted. Mushu is going to be hard to convince to leave, but I know that he wants to be himself. Something that the Potters won't let him do. I wasn't lying McGonagall I saved the elder Potters three weeks before the school year. Dumbledore kidnapped them after whatever the fight was about, and they don't like the way that Mushu was raised."
