I have this idea for quite a while. I think it's fun to combine Teen Titans with Batman the Animated series. It hints to a RobRea relationship but not that openly since I belief that things are going slow between the two birds.
English is not my native language, It's Dutch. Forgive me it's not perfect, I'm still learning.
I do not own the Teen Titans, Batman the Animated Series or the DC universe in general.
Fear of Scary Things and Broken Relationships
Chapter 1.
It was way past sunset in the late in the afternoon. The red brownish night sky was visible above the dark narrow hazy alleyway flanked by buildings on both sides. There were a few dumpsters, and several stacks of boxes and crates. One end of the alleyway rounded a corner to the right while the other end ended up in a street. There was almost no traffic except for a blue classic car passing by.
Three shadows appeared around the corner and entered the alleyway, a slim girl with huge pigtails followed by two boys, a very small one and a very big hulky one. Both boys seemed to hesitate to go further into the dark alleyway, they exchanged looks and made no movements. The girl seemed to noticed their lack of movements, turned on her heels and placed a hand on her hip. "You guys are not going to delay our appointment again, are you?"
"No," the big boy called immediately with a deep voice as he fidgets with his fingers. "We just don't like this place. It's too creepy."
"Yeah, I don't know what's so important about that snotty tool but I'm not going any further," the small one said.
The girl glared at the boys. "So that's going to be? Fine, you can just stay right here. I have an appointment and I don't need two cowardly morons around me who seems to do delay every time of the day and test my patience." The girl went deeper into the alleyway, leaving the boys behind.
The boys watched the girl rounding the corner and started nervously glancing around. It took a few more moments when they took one last glance at each other before running after their female company. "Hey barf brain, wait up!"
Both of them rounded the corner and went further through the alleyway. Then they saw the dark girl handling something to a taller person with a cane and wearing a dark trench coat and a big hat looming in the shadows. They were not alone, once they crossed the illuminated part of the alley they were met by three man in a trench coat. Two of them immediately pointed their pistols at the boys, forcing them to stop on their tracks. "Well, what we've got here, Rhino Junior and Green Midget?" one of them grinned.
The small one who got relieved as Gizmo glared at the henchman. "No cludge-head, we're not! And do all of you slugfaces carry a snotty weapon like that? That's so oldschool."
The third man cocked his sub machinegun and pointed it at the midget boy as he and Mammoth suddenly froze in place. "You say that again and you're waste."
Down the alley the girl and the man turned to the commotion. The girl let out a sigh. "You guys aren't here to spoiled the deal right? I thought that you didn't want to go any further."
"No, we just want to be sure that you're alright," Mammoth said.
"Well obvious I am. Now be quiet and let me finish the deal."
"Bunch of pit-sniffers," Gizmo muttered.
The mysterious man ignored the boys and handled his costumer a small object. "It's a pleasure to have business with you young lady. I assure you that fear will be a great addition to your powers of bad luck," he said with a ghostly voice.
The girl smiled as she put the object in her pocket. "The pleasure is all mine." She then turned to the others and moved towards them. Once the girl stepped into the light she relieving herself as Jinx. She turned to the three armed man. "You can let them go, they're with me."
The three man lowered their guns and the one carrying the sub machinegun turned to Jinx. "Alright, but you teach the dwarf in his green pajamas here some manners. He'll be dead meat if he don't watch his mouth."
Gizmo shot him a look. "Oh yeah? How 'bou- "
"Gizmo, you heard him so shut up!" Jinx hissed. "Now let's go. I've what we came for so we're done here."
The three young crime members started to move through the alleyway, leaving the four man. Once they were back on the street the boys let out a breath. Gizmo turned to Jinx. "Alright Jinx, can we go now?"
"Yeah, this whole place give me the creeps," Mammoth added.
Jinx rolled her eyes for the umpteenth time. "Yes, we can go home. Sometimes you guys are a real pain in the ass."
