—-Chapter 3—

Todoroki POV

I held onto Izuku's hand until we stood in front of Aizawa's office. I didn't know what had come over me, but something about the small boy made me feel very protective. I could still recall the way he flinched when I reached out to shake his hand, as if he expected me to hit him. From my own experience with my father I could only assume he had suffered some form of trauma.

"What is it problem child?" Aizawa Sensei had an exhausted expression, but he raised an eyebrow when his eyes landed on Izuku. "Midoriya? I assume you've come to pick up your uniform?" The boy nodded and wrapped his arms around his sides.

"T-thank you Aizawa Sensei, f-for the supplies." I noted the fact that he seemed to stutter a lot, especially when in front of someone I can only assume he had never met. Although his gratitude made me wonder if he was possibly a scholarship student. Perhaps Sensei had given him the needed school supplies, but that still didn't explain the flinching.

"No problem kid. I'm your teacher, if you need anything let me know." With that Aizawa handed Izuku the uniform and shut the door. He looked down at the floor and held the outfit close to his chest.

"We should probably head back to the dorms. Classes are over and I believe Bakugo and Kirishima was planning on making dinner." I turned to Midoriya and he gave me a slightly confused look.

"Bakugo and Kirishima are some of our classmates, they have been dating for the past year. Bakugo is a bit hardheaded but he can be tolerable when you get to know him." He returned to looking at the ground again as we made our way back to the dorms.

When we stepped into the common room I noticed all eyes fall on us. Midoriya was a new student so this was to be expected, but I had to fight the urge to scream at them for making Izuku feel uncomfortable.

"Hi! I'm Ochaco Uraraka. It's really nice to meet you." Ochaco stood in front of us. I figured she sensed my unease because she stayed several feet back.

"I-Izuku."

"Katsuki is making Katsudon in the kitchen and it should be ready soon." She smiled and pointed to where Bakuguo and Kirishima were arguing over a huge pot of water.

"I can do it myself spiky hair!"

"Just let me help you!" The bickering between the two was normal but the small boy beside me coward at their shouts. I had never been much of a physical affection type person, my family never had been either, but almost instinctively I put an arm around his shoulder. A small squeak escaped his lips as he flinched at my touch, but then relaxed.

"Let's go back to our room." I lead Izuku back to the hallway.

"Y-yeah." He fiddled with his uniform in his hands. We walk side by side, only stepping back when we entered the dorm. Izuku walk over to the couch and set his uniform in his suitcase. I noticed that the suitcase itself was almost empty, except for an extra outfit and some pjs. The poor kid must have come from a very less fortunate family. I had never been one for small talk but I was hoping to learn more about the green eyed boy.

"So, what school did you transfer from?" His shoulders tensed slightly after the worlds left my mouth.

"I-it was a s-school far away. Y-you probably w-wouldn't know it." A look of fear flashed across his face for a second and I recalled the scars I had seen on his body earlier.

"Were you...abused?" I didn't want to pry to much into his life, but after years of enduring my fathers harsh training I knew the lasting effects trauma could cause. He froze up at my words.

"It's ok if you don't want to tell me. I don't tend to stick my head into business that isn't mine, but if you ever want to talk I'm here." Izuku gave a slight smile nodding, before laying down on the couch. He used his yellow All Might backpack as a pillow and faced away from me. His body looked extremely malnourished and he constantly fiddled with his hands. I picked up my book, but found myself staring at the small boy instead. He really was handsome. I had come to terms with my sexuality years ago, but I still didn't know how open he would be. Of course if I could just be his friend that would be enough for me. The boy mumbled softly in his sleep.

"P-please...I cant take it...I'm so sorry...I-it hurts" my heart broke at the horrific words that seemed to spill from his mouth. He flinched and hugged himself even in his sleep. Again I had to resist the sudden urge to hold him. I looked back down at my book and tried to read, a hopeless feat really, since my mind was sill filled with images of the green haired boy.

"Aaaaa!" I jumped up from my bed and out of my slumber, although I didn't recall falling asleep.

"Midoriya! Are you ok?" The boy hugged his body panting. I cautiously sat down next to him on my couch and hugged him. He resisted at first but then melted into my touch.

"You're ok. Your safe. It was just a dream." Izuku held onto my shirt as muffled sobs escaped him. Something must be seriously wrong. But who could hurt such an adorable innocent person like him? His body shook and trembled as I held him close to my chest. Eventually his breathing steadied and he sat back up wiping his face with his hands.

""I-I'm so sorry Todiroki-kan, oh my god your shirt!" Izuku jumped back. My shirt had a huge tear stain, but I didn't mind.

"It's fine Izuku, really. And please, just call me Shoto." He smiled shyly and sat back down on the couch.

"Do you wanna talk about it?"

"I-it's better if I don't." He always spoke quietly, almost in a whisper. But I enjoyed every word non the less.

Bang Bang Bang!

Izuku jumped at the sudden noise against the dorm room.

"Foods ready damn icyhot!" Kacchan yelled from the other side. Izuku flinched, but I stood up and reached my hand out to him.

"Shall we?" He reluctantly took my hand and we exited the dorm together. I held onto him, ready to face whatever my classmates threw our way.
