Ruben is pacing around his house, digging at his skin and making it bleed. He looks out the window and sees the 118 pull up. He hastily goes to the door and opens it, meeting Bobby, Buck and Eddie.
"Thank goodness you're here."
"You told 9-1-1 that you were itchy?" Eddie asks, moving Ruben toward the chair in the living room.
"So itchy."
"Where are you itchy?"
"Everywhere. My skin, my throat, my eyes. I didn't know my eye balls could itch like this."
"How long have you been experiencing this?"
"An hour."
Eddie starts taking his vitals. "Are you allergic to anything?"
"Peanuts," Ruben answers.
"Have you come into contact with any peanut products or anything that is processed in a factory that works with peanuts?"
"No."
Buck notices a half empty jar of peanut butter on the counter in the kitchen.
"What's that?" Buck asks, pointing to the jar.
"That's what I had for lunch," Ruben answers, nonchalantly.
Everyone looks at him, dumbfounded for a moment.
"That... that's peanut butter," Buck stammers.
"Yea, but it's creamy, not crunchy, so there aren't actually any peanuts in there."
Everyone looks at him, their mouths wide open. They don't have any words.
"Creamy peanut butter is made with peanuts," Eddie points out.
Ruben looks at Eddie like he has 2 heads. He doesn't get it.
"They take peanuts and grind them up, and that's how they make peanut butter."
"Creamy peanut butter has peanuts?" Ruben asks.
"Yes."
"Well shoot. I've been eating creamy peanut butter my whole life," Ruben says with a slight chuckle. "It must not be that bad. I haven't died yet."
"I'm going to give you an epinephrine shot, and we're going to take you to the hospital so they can treat your wounds from where you scratched. They'll also make sure to set you up with an epi pen. And from now on, no more peanut butter. Creamy or crunchy."
"Can I have one more spoonful before you throw it away?"
"No."
Eddie quickly gives him the shot. Then they put him on the stretcher, all while shaking their heads in disbelief.

A group of older ladies are sitting outside the nursing home, knitting. There is an employee outside with them, but she's on her phone not paying attention. One woman, Josephine, looks up from her knitting and sees a car. Her face lights up like she recognizes it.
"That's my daughter. I should go say hi."
Josephine gets up and walks toward the parking lot. The car she saw pulls out and starts driving down the road. Josephine follows it on foot down the street. After walking for a few blocks, she forgets that she was following a car, and now she's just taking a stroll. She stops at a cross walk and looks around. She's confused and doesn't know where she is. The honking horns and noises on the street confuses and upsets her more.
...
Back at the nursing home, the old ladies are still knitting when the nurse looks up from her phone. She notices Josephine is not at the table.
"Where's Josephine?"
"She saw her daughter, so she went to say hello," one of the lady's answers.
"Where?"
"She went to the parking lot."
The nurse gets up and walks toward the parking lot looking for Josephine. She walks past every single car, but Josephine is nowhere to be found.
...
Jo is driving Buck to work in his Jeep. They pass a park and see a group of teenagers dressed up for prom taking pictures.
"Ugh," Buck sighs in disgust. "The first Saturday of prom season. It's going to be a terrible night. Car wrecks, fights, a few alcohol poisonings mixed in."
"Isn't that every Saturday night in LA?" Jo jokes.
They stop at a stop light. A group of teens walks through the cross walk. Jo watches them, not going unnoticed by Buck.
"They look nice," Jo points out.
"They do."
The group of teens join the others in the park.
"You said you were going to go to prom," Buck says. "Did you have a dress?"
"I did. It was white and it had flowers embroidered on it. It was perfect."
"I'm sorry you didn't get to wear it. Did you keep it?"
"No, I sold it to help my dad pay for my brother's funeral."
Buck squeezes Jo's hand. He hates that she had to grow up too fast. Buck's radio comes on, breaking up the conversation.
"Attention all units in the area of Lankershim and Riverside. An elderly female walked away from Evergreen Nursing Home, and was last seen walking west on Riverside. She was wearing blue sweatpants and a white shirt with flowers on it. The patient, Josephine Ellis, has dementia, so she will likely be confused."
"That's right around here," Buck says, looking out the window.
Jo turns on her blinker and turns down a side street. They scan the area for Josephine as they drive. They pass another street. Buck spots her walking down the sidewalk.
"Right there."
Jo makes a u-turn and goes down the street. She pulls over and she and Buck get out of the car.
"Call Athena."
Buck pulls out his phone to call. Jo goes up to Josephine.
"Hi. Josephine?"
Josephine turns around at her name, but she doesn't recognize Jo. "I'm sorry dear. Do I know you?"
"Yea, I'm Jolene. I'm a friend of your daughter's."
"You know LeeAnn?"
"I do. We went to school together."
"That's lovely."
"What are you doing out here?"
"I just went for a walk. I'm afraid I might be lost, though."
"I can give you a ride somewhere," says, gesturing over to their running car.
"Oh, I don't want to impose."
"You wouldn't be. We're just out driving around."
"Well alright."
Jolene leads Josephine back to her car. Buck is putting his phone away as they get to the car.
"This is Josephine. Josephine, this is Evan."
"Is he your husband?"
"No ma'am."
"That's too bad. He's cute."
Josephine winks at Jo. She smiles, agreeing. Buck opens the front passenger door and helps Josephine in. He closes the door and turns to Jo.
"I'm cute?"
"Get in the car," Jo says with a smile, but not answering his question.
Jo gets behind the wheel while Buck climbs into the back seat. They drive away toward the nursing home.
...
Jo pulls up to the nursing home and parks behind a police car. As Buck helps Josephine out, the nurse that was supposed to be watching her comes running across the street to the car.
"Josephine! Where were you? You had us worried sick."
"I'm sorry."
The nurse turns to Jo as she helps Josephine cross the street. "I'm sorry you had to bring her all the way back here."
"It really wasn't any trouble. She's a sweetheart."
"Come on, Josephine. Let's get you back inside."
Josephine extends a hand to Jo. "It was nice to meet you..." She stops, not remembering her name.
"Jolene."
"Jolene. That's a pretty name." She shakes Jo's hand. "Don't be a stranger."
"Yes, ma'am."
The nurse leads Josephine back inside. Jo and Buck meet up with Athena who is standing on the sidewalk.
"You found her pretty quick," Athena says.
"We were in the right place at the right time," Buck replies.
"How did she get out?" Jo asks.
"She was on the patio knitting, and the nurse was too busy on her phone and not paying attention, and she walked off."
"It doesn't sound like the nurse should be working here," Buck remarks.
"After today, I don't think she will be," Athena says. "Thanks again."
"See you later."
Athena gets in her car and drives away. Jo and Buck walk back to their car.
"You're going to be late," Jo says.
"I don't mind. If you want to, we could drive to San Diego."
"Sorry. You're going to work."
"Aww." Buck sticks out his lower lip, fake pouting.
"Put that lip back in." Jo rolls her eyes with a smile.
They both get back in the car and drive away.
