DM Margo Alone Chapter 2

That night, there were a thunder snow with extremely heavy winter winds. Lighting flashed and thunder roared. The telephone lines came down causing a blackout. Everyone was asleep so no one noticed the alarm set to wake them up on time go off.

The next morning, Edith was up and dressed before anyone else, she loved flying on airplanes and made sure she had everything she needed. But everyone else overslept! Edith didn't know the alarm clocks had been reset in the night and paced up and down the hallway impatiently.

Then looking out of the window she saw the taxis arriving to take them to the airport [the second taxi was for the minions]. The taxi driver got out and rang the doorbell waking up the grown-ups. Upstairs, a sleepy Lucy picked up her watch from the bedside table and looked at it closely.

Then Lucy noticed the alarm clock had turned off during the night. Then Gru and Lucy shot up in bed, realizing they'd overslept and the taxis were here to take them to the airport! ''WE SLEPT IN!'' shouted Gru and Lucy together, "AAAAAHHHH!".

They quickly got up and rushed about the place getting dressed and getting everything together. When they were finally, Edith said ''What have you all been doing? I've been up and ready and waiting for ages! Now we'll gonna miss the plane!''. ''Sorry honey'' Lucy said, ''There was a blackout and we overslept!''.

''There's no way we're gonna make this plane brother'' said Dru as Gru locked the front door on the way out, ''Eet leaves in forty-five minutes!''. ''Think positive Dru'' said Gru. ''You think positive, I'm gonna think realistically!'' Dru argued as they got into the taxi. The taxis drove off to the airport without further delay.

When they got there, the family handed in their language while Gru apologised for the delay and why they were a bit late. Then they went through security and ran like mad for boarding gate. ''Did we miss the flight?'' Gru asked the lady when they got there. ''No you just made it'' replied the lady.

''Yaaaaay!'' the others cheered. ''Phew! Thank goodness we made it'' panted Lucy when they had all taken their seats on the plane. ''I didn't think we would!'' Edith muttered. ''Well we did Edith, now you can stop being cross and let us enjoy our Christmas vacation'' said Dru reassuringly as the plane got ready to take off.

Meanwhile, back at Gru's house, Margo was slowly waking up and realized she needed the toilet. When she came out of the bathroom. The house was very quiet. Margo didn't understand. ''Mom! Dad!'' she called. No answer. Margo went downstairs ''Uncle Dru!''. Still no answer.

Margo looked in the sitting room, ''Edith? Agnes? Are you in here?'' she called. She hurried into the lab and called out ''Minions?''. Silence. By now Margo was getting desperate, ''Is this a joke?'' she asked loudly in case anyone was hiding somewhere in the house.

Margo went into the kitchen and sat down to find there was no one making breakfast or asking her what she'd like today. Then Margo realized the terrible truth, it was as if the rest of the family had vanished into thin air and that she was all on her own!

''My family's disappeared'' Margo thought to herself ''And I have the house all to myself, that's kinda impressive... and awful!''. But Margo found herself enjoying having the house to herself and forgot about thinking of it being awful.

She ran around the house in excitement and jumped on the crocodile couch and on all the beds. Later that day, Margo put on the DVD, Thomas and Friends: Journey Beyond Sodor. But not before she'd made herself a giant ice cream sundae for while she watched the movie.

There was a mountain of Strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream with sprinkles, whipped cream and marshmallows. Margo sat there eating her masterpiece and watching the DVD. ''This is great!'' Margo thought, ''Mom and Dad would never let me eat this much! Now I can eat as much as I like with there being just me!''.

At that moment during mid-flight, Lucy woke up on the plane. She looked rather distressed. ''Is something wrong honey?'' Gru asked. Lucy sighed, ''I have a terrible feeling'' she said. ''About what?'' Gru asked. ''That we didn't do something'' said Lucy. ''You probably feel dat way cause we left in such a hurry. We took care of everything, believe me, we did'' said Gru.

''Did you turn off the coffee?'' Lucy asked. ''No I did'' said Gru. ''Did you lock up?'' asked Lucy. ''Yeah'' said Gru. ''Did you close the garage?'' asked Lucy. ''Dat's eet'' said Gru, ''I forget to close de garage, dat's eet''. ''No that's not it'' said Lucy. ''What else could we be forgetting? Gru asked. Lucy gasped, "MARGO!".

''WHAT?!'' Gru cried. ''Gru!'' Lucy shrieked, ''Margo's not here! We've left her behind!''. ''You're joking, right?'' Gru said nervously. ''What's wrong you two?'' Dru asked, ''Brother what's with all the shouting?''. ''We left Margo behind at home'' replied Gru. Dru was speechless.

Gru told a stewardess their problem and she spoke the captain and came back to tell them what he had said. ''The captain's doing everything he can, but your phones are still out of order'' said the stewardess, handing him a drink of water. ''We'll sort eet all out as soon as we land Lucy'' said Dru reassuringly, ''I'm sure everything's ok''.

''How could we do this?'' Lucy said weakly, ''We forget her''. ''We didn't forget her'' said Gru, ''We just miscounted''. Lucy sounded like she was about to cry, ''What kind of mom am I?'' she choked. ''You're an awesome mom!'' said Edith trying to brighten Lucy's spirits, ''You have a load of cool gadgets and you saved me, Margo, Agnes and Lucky from Balthazar Bratt!''.

''I am not leaving my baby girl alone at Christmas!'' Lucy said firmly to the rest of the family.
