DM Margo Alone Chapter 7
Bratt and El Macho got up and saw Margo heading next door to Fred's house. ''There she is!'' shouted Bratt. ''Hey! I'm calling the cops!'' Margo taunted. "Get her!" Bratt said. ''Wait, wait wait!'' said El Macho, ''She wants us to follow her. I got a better idea. Come on!''. Margo ran into Fred's underground cellar and found herself splashing through water that came half way up to her knees!
Bratt had left the tap running from robbing the house before and caused a flood! ''Ugh!'' she said. She hadn't expected the flood. Margo ran up the steps to Fred's house that had water flowing down them. She opened the door at the top and got a nasty surprise. There was Bratt and El Macho waiting for her!
"Surprise!" Bratt sang mockingly. ''Hiya gal pal'' said El Macho nastily, ''We outsmarted you this time!''. Margo was about to flee when El Macho grabbed her by the arm first. Then he and Bratt hung her by her shirt on a hook on the door. "You're not going anywhere this time," sneered Bratt.
"Now that she's caused so much pain to us," El Macho growled. "We're gonna do the same thing what she did to us!".
''Smash her face with an iron!'' snarled Bratt. Margo gulped nervously. "And I'm gonna blow her head off with tons of fire!" El Macho snickered. ''Let's shove a nail through her foot!'' said Bratt. "And I'll be feeding her to a group of sharks!" El Macho snorted. The two burglars didn't notice Mr Malvern sneaking up behind them with his snow shovel.
''But first'' El Macho continued saying, ''I'm gonna bite off all her fingers!''. He grabbed Margo's wrist and pulled her hand to his mouth. Suddenly... Mr Malvern hit Bratt and El Macho on the heads with his snow shovel and knocked them unconscious making them both groan. CLANK! BANG! "Unnngghhh!". Mr Malvern lifted Margo off the hook and carried her away. ''Come on'' he said, ''Let's get you home''.
From inside the safety of her own house, Margo watched the police arresting Bratt and El Macho and taking them away. But she had a few last jobs to do. Now that the booby traps had done their jobs, she could return the house to normal. Before Margo went to bed, she hung up stockings for her family and all the minions. Then she left out milk and cookies for Santa and wrote him a note.
Dear Santa: I don't want any presents this year. I just want my family back. My birth mom Annie gave me life and my adoptive family gave me love. I really want my adoptive mom back. I love her so much. Love Margo Gru.
The note said. All Margo could do was hope. Early the next morning, having spent the night in a hotel, Lucy was still stuck and not knowing how to find her way home and how she would travel. It would take ages to walk. Suddenly she saw a herd of reindeer and a sleigh come flying by and land outside the hotel.
''Ho Ho Ho!'' said Santa when he saw Lucy, ''Hello there madam, can I help you? You look lost!''. ''Hi there'' said Lucy, ''I'm Lucy Gru and I'm trying to get home to my daughter Margo''. ''Well Lucy'' said Santa, ''Last night I found this note from someone called Margo in one of the houses far away from here''.
He showed her a note he'd picked up. Lucy read it and recognised Margo's handwriting. She gasped. ''Well if you like, I can give you a lift'' said Santa. ''Yay!'' Lucy cheered, ''Yes please Santa, just let me go check out of the hotel''. Once she was checked out, Lucy loaded her luggage on Santa's sleigh and they took off.
They flew for many miles until at last, Santa landed the sleigh outside Gru's house. ''Thank you Santa'' said Lucy as she unloaded her luggage, ''I thought all was lost!''. ''My pleasure Lucy'' said Santa, ''Goodbye''. ''Thank you Santa'' said Lucy as she unloaded her luggage, ''I thought all was lost!''. ''My pleasure Lucy'' said Santa, ''Goodbye''.
Lucy let herself into the house. She was back home at last! She looked around the beautifully decorated house. Margo had done such an amazing job! ''Margo?'' Lucy called walking around and checking in each room. Upstairs Margo was just waking up. She rubbed her eyes sleepily. It was Christmas Day!
Margo went downstairs and into the sitting room only to find an empty glass, a plate littered with cookie crumbs and her note was gone! Then she heard a familiar voice.
''Margo? Is that you?'', Margo turned round and saw Lucy standing in the hallway through the open door. Her mom was back! Joyful tears both welled up in Lucy and Margo's eyes. Margo ran to Lucy and gave her the biggest hug. Lucy picked up her daughter and held her tight.
"Mom!" Margo sobbed happily. "I missed you so much!". ''Shush'' Lucy said gently stroking Margo's hair, ''I missed you too''. The two hugged tightly for very long time. ''Oh Margo. I'm so sorry!'' Lucy said. 'Hey where's everyone else?'' Margo asked. ''Oh I'm sorry honey'' said Lucy, ''They couldn't make it''.
''That's ok Mom'' said Margo, ''At least you're back. It was scary being home alone''. Well, it's all over now, my baby daughter," Lucy soothed softly. "Mommy's here". ''I thought you might never come back'' Margo admitted. ''Well I did everything I could to come back'' said Lucy, ''It's gonna be a mother daughter Christmas day this year. Just the two of us''.
Margo brightened with joy. ''So why don't you go and open your presents while I put all my stuff away?'' Lucy suggested. "Sure, Mom!" said Margo. While Lucy was upstairs, Margo opened her presents including some new toys and books. Her favourite was a pink talk girl where she could records voices and sounds and change the pitch or play it in either fast or slow mode.
