The music is around her at first, clinging itself to her body before its beat creeps under her skin slowly, languidly and then, suddenly, all at once. She's dancing to this song she's heard on the radio way too often but she loves it anyway and she laughs when Lily twirls her around.
She doesn't know whose birthday it is they're celebrating (it's one of Marshall's colleagues, she reckons), but Robin enjoys the looks those hotshot lawyers throw her from the bar.
She enjoys them a lot.
Lily fans her face and gestures towards the door, leaving her friend alone on the dance floor. A different figure comes towards her almost immediately, a tell-tale smirk on his handsome face, the top buttons of his shirt undone, dancing towards her smoothly.
Robin invites Barney over with a strategic bite on her lip, locking her eyes with his, and he makes her move back, back until she can feel the cold surface of the mirror she's watched herself in earlier against her spine, and he only stops moving when he's pressed against her, looking at her with something raw, something heavy in his eyes.
She can't dance like this.
She doesn't mind.
