Comment: THANK YOU so much again for your comments and follows. I can't ever tell you how much it actually means to me :) This one was inspired by three things: a photo by Stanley Kubrick, the dress Cobie wore for the Entertainment Weekly shoot they did to promote season 9 and the song "Hooked on You" by Parov Stelar. I hope you like it - let me know what you think! Oh, and sorry for Barney's language. :D
I suffocate if I can't inhale your love, girl
He fell behind her against the sunrise, feeling tired and alive all at once.
They were walking home from the club. She led the way, and he followed, unable to not stare at her.
She looked like a fucking postcard from behind, her hair all tousled, one strap slid off her shoulder, her fingers curled around the counters of her heels that she'd taken off on Fifth Avenue. She was a piece of art; she was Holly Golightly, her sequined dress slightly askew against her thighs.
She turned around. "There's a Starbucks across the street."
He lifted his gaze. "Can you read minds?"
She laughed knowingly, and it made him shudder, made him want to treat her to something else than caramel latte. The urge was so strong that he raised his hand, recovering quickly and pulling her strap back into place.
She pulled his arm around her shoulders as they crossed the street.
"Why do you keep looking at me like this?" she grinned once she had placed her order.
Because you look really fuckable right now, he thought.
"Because you pull off the morning after look really well," he said.
She cocked an eyebrow.
He ordered iced coffee.
