Comment: Robin's wearing shorts and heels in this episode, and on every cab ride to a new burger restaurant she's sat next to Barney. Coincidence? I think not! (:
Barney swears his cheeks are burning when Robin swings her bare legs over his thigh. "That's better," she sighs at the more comfortable position.
He crosses his arms because he doesn't know where to put his hands.
On the second cab ride, she does it again, unprompted. "If I don't eat within the next half hour, it's gonna get ugly," she says.
He dares to put his hand on her knee, shocked when his thumb strokes over her skin automatically. Let go of the illusion that she likes this, the voice in his head tells him. She's doing it to keep her blood circulating, idiot.
But she doesn't flinch at his touch, doesn't tell him to keep his hands to himself, and he feels his own blood boil victoriously.
He curses his phone for ringing, forcing him to pull his hand away.
"I swear I'm gonna pass out," she moans in the third cab. This time, Barney pulls her legs over his thigh before reaching into his jacket.
"Eat up, sugar," he grins, handing her a granola bar, sounding more confident than he feels when her eyes widen at him thankfully.
Let it go, the voice says.
But he can't.
