Chapter 23
Defense of Rendili
RENDILI
Northwestern Hemisphere
The Knight had finished unloading the last of the Clone Troopers and supplies to the planetary shield system, caked with snow from the high altitude. A massive satellite dish pointing skyward roughly the size of three frigates with all their noses pointed together, a massive spike stuck out of it to help focus the shield. Sticking out of the peak of the mountain the machinery and generator itself was built deep within the mountain while defenses from the Old Republic and recently built defenses by the Rendili Home Defense Forces and Clone troopers were being added on with sandbags and extra armaments. Clone troopers set up E-Web turrets around the mountain range from every path creavas, a single wide road leading down the mountain into the Rendili lowlands in an open valley was the only way in and out of the mountain stronghold by ground. Rendili starfighters and Republic gunships flew around patrolling the area while up on the military base at the satellite entrance Above them the Knight took off with Plo Koon and Commander Wolffe aboard it returning to the rest of the Republic fleet and the promise of reinforcements if they could find any at all.
In another part of the base down on the main road, Dogma and Jax were laying down mines on the road covering them with gravel or loose snow. "So you stole a Jedi Starfighter?" Jax asked him
"I didn't steal it, I just borrowed it." Dogma replied, setting down another mine.
Jax only laughed "You just borrowed it to fly through a bloody dogfight and board the enemy flagship with nothing but a blaster rifle and a few grenades Dogma."
"Turned out it was for nothing, the Generals didn't even need saving." Dogma said walking back over to the mine crate and taking out some more. Jax finished laying down another one before Dogma handed him more.
Jax shrugged under his white armor "Jedi are pretty amazing." Jax said.
"When I was a cadet, me and the youth brigade were aboard this shuttle that got bombed by bounty hunters all to kill General Windu, he and General Skywalker were trapped on the ship for almost two days under rubble and still survived." Jax said laying down more mines.
Dogma hesitated hearing Skywalkers name "I remember Captain Rex telling me about that."
"Oh yeah, you use to be under Skywalker's command, is Commander Rock anything like him?" Jax asked.
Dogma kept working while he talked "Yes and no, the Jedi are very similar and very different, I don't know how to explain it." Dogma said.
But his younger brother kept poking him "Ok what about Skywalker's second in command what was her name Commander Tano, our General used to be a Commander like her right?"
"I didn't really get to know Commander Tano that well, but Captain Rex and her were very close?" Dogma explained "Ohohoho How close?" Jax asked, smirking under his helmet.
Dogma shot his head over to him glaring from under his helmet visor "Not like that, close like we are brothers though she was more of a sister I guess?"
Jax raised his hands laughing "Relax old man, I didn't mean anything by it just having some fun."
Up the road Commander Alpha was scanning the valley with binoculars, beside him stood Leo "What do you think?"
"It's an impressive position General, the old Republic military knew how to pick them our scouts have found no paths or trails that could give the enemy a chance to outflank us, this valley and the road are the only way the droids can get to us." Alpha informed him "What about air raids from their bombers?" Leo asked him.
Alpha pointed to a series of cannons lining the satellite base, and a tower behind the dish "Like I said the old Republic military knew there stuff, anti aircraft guns scattered across the mountain, those with the ones we brought with us the droids will be hard pressed to grind down our defenses." Alpha addressed him.
Leo felt eyes on them and looked over his shoulder at Rendili soldiers all moving their own gear and keeping their distance from the Republic clones. "What's the mood of the men?"
"Which ones sir?" Alpha asked.
"All of them?" Leo asked.
Alpha grunted "The 703rd are a bunch of shinies, green noses but they'll do their duty right now the Rendili forces have been keeping their distance."
"That won't do us any good when the fighting starts, we're either all on the same side or we're not." Leo replied seeing Commander Dallin approaching them from inside the base.
"Commander." Leo said seeing them.
Tarkin as per usual was the first to speak "I've spoken with the Provisional government, the rest of Rendili has been warned and are preparing for the droids should they attack any of the settlements or cities, the defense force is stretched thin." Dallin reported watching his men move around the base.
"So we fight with the forces we have, are your men prepared to fight alongside the troopers?" Leo asked him, Dallin and Leo started to walk across the battlements with Alpha behind them "I've had multiple complaints from my men, they don't see your men as men just organic droids I'm afraid."
Dallin turned back to Alpha "I do not, many brave clones died at my side during the Citadel siege I know you men can do."
The veteran Arc trooper didn't say anything he just smirked, before they could discuss their plans any further their attention was caught by a sudden crowd of clones and Rendili soldiers shouting and hollering. "By the abyss what now?" Dallin hissed. The three of them hurried over pushing through the crowd their ranks making the soldiers part faster than they could get through when they saw what was going on, both the clone troopers Whiplash and Hotshot were in a fight with a Rendili soldier, a young woman with dark hair like Dallins and brown eyes. Her hair was done up in a military bun behind her head and she was holding her own against both the clones. Hotshot rushed her to try and throw a punch but she caught his arm and used his weight against him throwing him over her shoulder before Whiplash out flanked her.
She kicked him in the chestplate before she wrapped her legs around her victims arm and twisted Hotshots arm pulling it back about to break it up "What in the Force's name is going on here!" Dallin shouted making all the Rendili soldiers stand at attention while the clones saw Leo, mincing the Rendilians' reaction.
The woman let go of Hotshot and Dallin approached her red faced "Captain, care to explain yourself?" He demanded as she stood up slowly.
"Just some friendly sport Commander." The woman said brushing loose hair back into place, the crowd of clones and Rendilians evaporated seeing the fight was over going back to their duties.
"Hotshot, Whiplash get back in line." Alpha snapped at them, Whiplash helped Hotshot up and they started to walkway "She blindsided me." Hotshot whispered "Yeah, yeah, keep telling yourself that." Whiplash said back, pushing him along.
When the crowd was all but dispersed both Jax and Dogma had returned from laying down the mines "What we miss?"
"Nothing." Both Whiplash and Hotshot said sheepishly embarrassed.
Back with the Jedi and Rendili officers, Commander Dallin was letting the young officer have it "Of all the times to show off in front of the men, you pick a fight without allies in our time of need?" Dallin asked.
"The clones were the ones who suggested Commander, some friendly sport when they claimed Clone soldiers were worth ten of every droid." She said "Oh and you responded how I wonder?" Commander Dallin asked her.
"That the Rendili were worth twenty." She said with a smile.
The Commander raised his head to start shouting at her but instead he exhaled and crossed his arms "General Rock, allow me to introduce my daughter Captain Tess Dallin." He said stepping aside so both Leo and Alpha could get a better look at her, side by side the resemblance of the two was uncanny in jawline and brow. But Tess must take after her mother in eyes and nose.
"A pleasure." Leo said trying to do his best Obi-Wan impersonation "My father- the Commander has told me all about you General Rock how you helped him escape the Citadel, when many men did not." She said looking at her father then at Leo. Leo frowned the memory of the men banging on the laser wall begging for salvation, having fought so hard to be denied all because of one man, that one man was the only person Leo hadn't seen yet "Speaking of, where is the Admiral?" Leo asked.
A few minutes later, Both Dallins, Leo and Alpha walked into the base's command center, it like the Planetary Defense System was an old republic with angular devices mixed in with modern day technology that was pushed to the limit to keep up. Admiral Tarki was standing in front of a rectangular green holotable looking at a map of the perimeter "Admiral." Leo said walking in "General, Commander I've been studying this map diligently and I may have an idea that could give us an explicit advantage?"
"Let's hear it." Dallin asked him, Tarkin gave a polite smile pressing a few buttons and a battle simulation appeared. The Republic and Rendili forces were in blue and yellow up against the bases defenses, down in the valley red droids were marching up the valley with tanks and other war machines
"This valley is the only way the droid army's ground forces can reach us, it bottlenecks here on the road, any tanks and walkers will be cut to pieces but there is still the mountain walls the droids can climb." The Admiral stated "With speeder bikes or by their own hands the droids will overwhelm us eventually unless we do this."
Tarkin pressed a small button on the end of the table and suddenly the holographic mountains shattered falling down on the droids crushing them. "Draw the droids in and then cause a rockslide?" Leo asked him.
"The droid army may be made of metal, but give an iron bar a few hundred kilotons and even it will crack." The Admiral stated with confidence.
Captain Dallin looked at the plan skeptical "You disapprove my dear?"
"It's Captain, Admiral." She corrected standing up straight putting her hands behind her back "We could deal the droid army serious losses if we follow your plan, but once you've brought down the rest of the mountain you've brought us down as well." She said.
"Not at all if we blast the mountain faces with precise accuracy the planetary defense systems will be safe." He pointed out.
She then pointed to the table "I wasn't talking about the mountain, the rubble will create the perfect ramp for the droids larger machines, their hover tanks will glide right over it and we'll be blown to the abyss."
"She has a point." Leo said looking over at her with a smile then to Tarkin, "Then it is a risk we must take, by drawing in as many as the droids as possible to ensure maximum effectiveness." Tarkin said defending his idea.
Leo took note of the battle lines drawn seeing an unusual amount of yellow at the front of the defenses "Why are the clones held in reserve?" Leo asked.
"This is our home General, our fight." Captain Tess said over to him "What the Captain means Master Jedi is that we are willing to do our part for Rendili."
Tarkin firmly nodded "Agreed."
"Not agreed." Leo said putting his hand on the table "My men will fight with you, it's we're here." Leo insisted.
"Of course General, but we need to be smart. This is a head to head battle as you know, we'll switch our troops every six hours giving them ample time to rest should the defenses hold." Commander Dallin said "If they hold." Tarkin said doubtfully.
The Rendili in the room didn't seem to like that because Captain Tess glared daggers at Tarkin "I beg your pardon Admiral-" She said with venom on the edge of her tongue "But what does a Republic Naval officer know about on the ground combat?"
"Captain." Commande Dallin said over his daughter silencing her "It's alright Commander, Captain Tess has a right to be skeptical but as you know the positions of General are assigned to the Jedi here, even normal people like us have trained our whole lives for military service." Tarkin said looking at Leo crossed.
Knowing this was a direct insult thrown at Leo, the young Knight slammed his hand on the table "Enough." He said loudly and firmly "The enemy is on it's way, not in this room." He said putting an end to the squabble.
Tess and Tarkin broke their eye lock "Indeed." Tarkin said while Captain Tess clicked her teeth at the Admiral.
"Drawing them is our sole plan, making their numbers count for nothing is a must for our success but if we destroy the droids too quickly, whoever is commanding them will come up with a new strategy." Leo said leaning on the table drawing their attention back to it "We need to know who we're up against."
"If you're afraid this is a prelude to an invasion of Coruscant then General Grievous would be the optimal choice, no?" Tarkin asked him from the other side.
Leo shrugged his shoulders "Count Dooku has other servants then that monster, it's all a matter of which one."
HYPERSPACE
Separatist Fleet
Enroute to Rendili was the massive invasion fleet the Rendilians had told them about, three Separaitst Providence Class Dreadnoughts a dozen Maleficent frigates carrying their invasion force and at the helm of this mighty armada was the Separatist command ship, the giant orb was equipped with the additional ring that gave it flight, a devaronian man with a cybernetic eyepatch strapped over his left eye. He had red skin and dark pointing out from his head, dressed in black armor with golden trim and a high collar. The General sat there listening to a hologram of Count Dooku.
"Word has reached me you dropped your fleet out of hyperspace before reaching Rendili General Kleeve why?" Count Dooku asked him.
"The Jedi have turned the Rendili fleet against us my lord, Commander Yago was killed in the counter offensive launched by the Jedi. I needed time to reassess the situation." General Kleeve said from the commander's chair aboard his flagship.
"You have the superior numbers and firepower, what is there to assess?" Count Dooku asked unhappy with the change in schedule.
"With all do respect Count, we aren't facing just clones down their my lord." General Kleeve said rising from his chair "The Rendili have just finished fighting their civil war, their army is by far the most well trained in the galaxy second to the clone army who are there now, and the Jedi have left one of their own your former apprentice Leo Rock who had advanced knowledge of how our forces work." Kleeve explained.
Count Dooku glared at him "Careful General."
"I always am my lord, I have gathered additional forces to assist with the Jedi should they be needed." Kleeve said as the doors opened and a trio of dark purple and gray clad men walked in with cowls and face masks. They were all dressed in dark gi's with ssshe around their waists, twin short swords at their belts. "Count Dooku allow me to introduce the Kage Warriors, many of them have flocked to our banner recently in hopes we will assist them in liberating their world Quarzite from ruling power." Kleeve said as the Kage warriors bowed respectively.
The Count summed them up in a glance "I have heard of these warriors, trained since birth in the arts of close quarter combat and shadow."
"A fine addition to your army General Kleeve." Count Dooku said pleased to see the three shinobi.
"They are not the only weapons I have added to my arsenal, the Republic and Rendili forces have chosen their defensive position well, the planetary shield generator is hidden deep in the heart of a mountain fortress but I assure you I will do all I can to break their resolve." General Kleeve said up to the Count bowing to him.
"Make sure you do; I would hate for you to lose another eye General Kleeve."
RENDILI
The Sun was setting over the Mountains giving the snow a remarkable shade of orange and the rocks a cool dark blue. Leo could see his breath as he stood outside the command center on a balcony looking at the changing colors, "Are you alright?" Leo turned to his left to see Commander Dallin approaching him.
"I'd be lying if I said I was, this is my first battle as a General." Leo said back to him "Not that different from being a Commander is it?" Dallin suggested.
"Yes, and no, a lot of things have changed mostly in me, how I fight, why I fight." Leo said looking down at the clones and the Rendili forces still preparing.
He took a deep breath exhaling slowly "Certain emotions, strong ones are discouraged among the Jedi, one I'm having trouble with right now is envy Commander."
"Envy?" Dallin asked.
"Yes I'm envious of you and your men, you have the greatest reason to fight right now." Leo said over to him "This is your home, your families are here, your history and culture are all counting on you." Dallin didn't speak he could see Leo was looking for an ear and not a voice. "Before I met you, when I was learning under a different Master, I was in Ryloth."
Dallin nodded "I've read the reports, many call you a hero for your actions?"
"My actions, the actions of Jedi who came too late to save the Twi'leks when the Separatists nearly wiped them out." Leo said shaking his head "To late to stop this stupid war." He said disgustedly.
"I met with Senator Ta during my stay on Coruscant, he's very fond of you." Dallin said "As fond as I am, he is his dinner for all three courses." Leo said making Dallin chuckle at the joke.
Both watched the sun start to go down "My later Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi was on Ryloth to, fighting on the ground but none of the Jedi really saw the war I saw it, refugees being hunted in the woods by animals by heartless droids without mercy, entire cities crammed underground hiding like rats on their own world, their entire cultural heritage stolen by Wat Tambor." Leo told Dallin.
"I thought Tambor was captured by Master Windu and General Syndulla?" Dallin asked him.
"Tambor was captured, the things he stole were shipped off before he could escape." Leo said looking down at his hand trembling from the cold air or from his own fear, he squeezed his fingerless glove into a fist "I think after the war, I'll head back to Ryloth see if I can work the twi'leks in finding what was stolen maybe in some small way I can help them rebuild that way."
Dallin looked at Leo, the young padawan slowly melting away into the Knight. He was "An honorable pursuit, what else is there for a Jedi if not to help others?"
"... What indeed." Leo said as the sun set on their side of the world "Commander I have a favor to ask?" Leo posed to the veteran commander.
"Of course Leo." Dallin replied to him "I could use someplace private to meditate, prepare for the coming battle." Leo asked him, Dallin nodded "This way."
Later Leo walked down the hallway of the base, Rendili soldiers who passed by them saluted The Commander with the two chest pound salute of the Rendili. They climbed a small flight of stairs up to a nicer part of the base till they reached a hallway with only a few doors, the hallway reminded Leo of the Knights quarters in the Jedi temple and he soon knew why. They came to a single door where Dallin pressed his hand on the control, reading his hand print "These are my private quarters, no one will both you here we also have a holopad so when anything happens I'll contact you." Commander Dallin explained. The room was large and had a single bed with a desk opposite of the bed that had a roll out chair and holopad that Dallin was talking about, a small window with a Mountain View. The Old Republic coat of arms was painted on the wall next to it still holding its past loyalty even now.
"Thank you Com- thank you Jace." Leo said using his first name as he was speaking not to just a comrade in arms but a friend "Of course Leo."
Leo walked in and waited till Dallin shut the door to sit down and try to meditate, despite the silence and his jedi training he couldn't focus. He looked at the holopad and got up walking over to it. He started to activate it preparing to send a signal typing in all the Republic codes when he hit the recorder "Padawan Tano, I hope all is well with your attack on Cato Neimoidia its not like they have a chance, I mean you and Anakin have probably already taken the planet…" Leo deleted it and walked over to the bed sitting down.
He looked at the holorecording he rubbed his forehead "Ahsoka, if you've gotten this then I'm either dead or captured, probably dead… oh no that's stupid." Leo said erasing it before he started again. "Hey Ahsoka, it's me because you can totally see my face in the recording ugh." Leo deleted that one too "Snips, how are you just wanted to…." Leo deleted this one without a second thought before he sighed leaning back up against the wall.
He sat back down before getting up and pacing back and forth, then he turned to the holorecorder and pressed the record button "..." he hesitated looking at the recorder "I'm just going to say it, Ahsoka, you and I have been through a lot, I still think back to the first day I met you... I thought, who was this torgurtan girl who keeps looking at me like this, makes me feel this way my heart race when i see her, heart when shes not there, makes me laugh so hard it hurts?" Leo smiled remembering it, "...I thought you were the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen, and I knew it was true when I got to see the way you could fight so hard and be so kind, be fearless whenever you need to be." Sighing he shook his head.
"I was so jealous of what you had with Anakin, when I finally had something like it with Obi-Wan, I always found myself thinking of you how you changed my life for the better, you taught me to open myself up to others, to not give in to the demons inside me." He added "But most of all, you never judged me or what I did, sure you disagreed with me a few times but I never felt you were against me you were always at my side keeping me on the right path— when I became I spy you weren't and I lost myself all over again." Leo said disparagingly, thinking of the mistakes he made "What I'm trying to say is something I should have told you the night we kissed, Ahsoka I… I love you."
"I love you Ahsoka Tano, I always have and I don't care if the Masters know because I know if you feel the same way-" before he could even finish the sentence red alarm lights blared like they did in the detention center signaling an incoming attack.
When an incoming message appeared on his holodevice, Leo opened it to see Dallin standing there "General Rock, its time."
"Understood Commander, I'm on my way." Leo said before he turned it off, leaving him with the holorecording of himself. He saw the two actions he could take, send it or delete it. Leo dropped the holopad on the floor and headed for the door, it opened on his approach and Leo started to push the thoughts of confession and love to the back of his head till he couldn't see them anymore. The red alarm was flashing on and off followed by a screaming siren and the intercom where Leo could hear Commander Dalli's voice.
"Red alert, red alert the Droid Army has just dropped out of hyperspace, we have incoming fighters and bombers." Dallin said as Leo walked out of the hallway.
Other Rendili officers were coming out of their quarters, he noticed among them Tess was in the hallway already walking ahead of him. She passed by a door where Gallan came out as Leo passed throwing on his coat and buttoning it up to his collar. Gallan hurried up running past Leo following Tess as Leo prepared himself for the coming fight. He panted through his nose closing his eyes listening to the alarm ring feeling the force inside him. Walking down the stairs to the first level Leo came into the large loading room for the base. Rendili forces were running out with blaster files beside clone troopers "Get those ammo boxes out here." Someone yelled. Walking onto the landing platform Leo saw the very mountain itself come alive cracking open, snow covered platforms rose up with multiple anti aircraft cannons that led down into the fortress, Rendili gunners were operating them with stacks of missiles and ammunition. Leo passed by other clones, Jax, Dogma, Whiplash and Hotshot who were carrying an ammo crate with blaster rifles as they came out to see the Separatist fleet descending from the clouds above. Hundreds of Vulture droids and bombers tore through the clouds transports were descending down from the cloud heading straight for the shield generator. Leo looked up over his shoulder to the balcony he'd been on with Commander Dallin he was standing there now looking at him. Leo gave a nod to him and Dallin looked back into the command center where Gallan and Captain Tess were, "Give the droids a Rendili Welcome." Commander Dallin ordered.
The anti aircraft cannons thundered like the storm itself unleashing the fury of the Rendilians. The vulture droids took evasive action but for every two that got through four were shot down.
"Incoming bombers Commander." Gallan reported to Jace, "Startup the shield generator." He ordered. The spike behind the satellite powered up and a bright blue electrical ray shield sprang out from the satellite fountaining at the top and covered the satellite, mountain, and defenders from a barrage of separatist bombs dropped over them, the Rendili forces outside the bubble ran as fast as they could back to the safety of the shield. The snow from the surrounding mountains, turning into avalanches across the ridge. Even with the shield, mountain and bases reinforced steel everyone could feel it shake from Dallin, Tarkin and Leo.
Tarkin looked out at the window where the shield was still getting barraged by the bombers "How long can that shield hold under this kind of barrage?" Tarkin asked.
"Depends on how long the barrage lasts and how many bombs the droids brought?" Captain Tess said while the mountain continued to shake.
"Commander, we've got incoming reports that the Capital and other cities are being attacked too." One of the officers under Dallins command called out "We can't do anything for them now, we hold our position." He said walking into the command center from the balcony. In the front of the base, Leo was standing there hand on his saber watching the bombers drop wave after wave of explosives on them. The Clones and Rendili forces watched.
Alpha approached him from behind "Nothing like a trial by fire General?"
Leo only gave a chuckle "For the droids."
Far above them in orbit, the General Kleeve watched the Separatist fleet descend on the world below with their ground ships pouring out of their carriers through the planetary shield. One of the droids approached him from his left side "General Kleeve our bombers have started their run, but the planetary shield generator has a ray shield and a considerable force of clones and natives."
"As expected, prepare our grand forces for other settlements?" Kleeve asked the droid.
"Our scans show all of the cities and larger settlements have been largely abandoned except for a few with strong defenses and large native garrisons." The droid said before it added more "The settlements we have taken appear to be largely destroyed or set on fire by some one?"
Kleeve turned hearing that "Leaving nothing for us, ignore the other settlements focus the majority of our forces at the shield generator, when they've been assembled cease the bombardment and begin the ground offensive." Kleeve ordered.
Down on the surface, the bombardment ended when Rendili's moon came out from behind clouds, the Rendili defenders had been lying in wait under the shield when the dropping explosives all but ceased. The clones and Rendili were in the hens lining the entrance to the base with sandbags machine gun nests lining the road from the valley, mortar pits were dug across the cliff side by Rendili sitting waiting for the actual fight to start. Up in the command center Dallin and his daughter had risen from their seats to approach the holotable with the other commanders. Leo walked in just as Tarkin arrived with Gallan at his side "They've stopped the bombardment."
"Means only one thing now, ground assault." Tess pointed out.
"Very well, let them come." Dallin confidently turned to Leo "General Rock, my men will hold the front line and will signal you if we have need of your men."
"My troopers are at your service, but I won't be with them. I intend to be down there with your men." Leo answered him "General I must object, as the leader of our ground forces you shouldn't put yourself at risk." Tarkin said over to him with some insistence.
The young knight smiled under is white hair "Was that concern Admiral Tarkin, I didn't know you cared."
Tarkin as quick tongued as ever replied "My only concern is our chance of survival."
"Ye of little faith Admiral, we both know Jedi don't die easily." Dallin said, watching Leo walk out. He made his way out of the command center and into the main entrance where the clones were waiting walking past Dogma, they shared a brief glance before he walked outside. The Rendili garrison were charging out to refill the machine gun nests and mortar pits along their trenches on the road, Leo followed them down to the lower road where they had set up the choke point. The clones had lined the rest of the road all the way down to the valley with mines, when Gallan and Tess joined their men in the trenches and got in next to Captain Tess. The trenches were lined with sandbags and metal boards so they weren't walking over rocks or mud. Ammunition boxes and extra grenades were in crates behind the defenders.
They all looked forward down into the valley even when the ground started to shake. It started soft, then started to rise the acoustics of the mountains echoing on and off one another feeding the noise of marching battle droids clanking their way toward them. "So you've fought these droids before Jedi?" Tess asked him.
"I have, the smaller ones rely on numbers to win, they'll go down easy with a blaster shot. The Super Battle droids are bigger and tougher, then magna guard droids and commandos but I doubt they'll send those in the first wave." Leo replied keeping his eye on the valley entrance, when he saw the first glint of metal from out of one of the mountain corners he unclipped his lightsaber from his belt "There." Leo's said focused on the enemy.
Captain Tess held up her binoculars to look at the foot of the mountain, marching straight toward them were the droids in parade formation. Up on the peak Dogma and Jax had come to the edge of the shield to see the enemy "Thats a lot of droids." Jax said.
"Clankers break all the same Jax." Dogma said as the number of droids grew with each step they took toward them "How many battalions do you see?" Jax asked.
"I'm Still counting." Dogma said.
"Do they really expect us to just stay up here, this is what we were made for?" Jax asked him "Don't worry when those Rendilians get tired we'll pick up the slack men." Alpha said behind them "Will General Rock be alright down there, without us?" Jax asked him.
Down at the frontlines Leo felt a drop of water land on his head, it dripped down his forehead and he looked skyward to see dark storm clouds. "Haha…" he said, rubbing it off "Why are you laughing Jedi?" Tess asked him, he turned to her.
"On top of everything it's about to rain." He said with thunder and lighting exploding overhead, "You're not scared?" Tess asked him.
"No, want to know why?" Leo said taking out his lightsaber and turning it on, the next thing he did was make the entire trench line, walking toward the droid army "Because I love breaking droids."
A/N: Not my best work, just needed some filler
