"Hello, I am Peter Parker. Came here for the job interview."
"Oh yeah Mr. Parker. Mr. Weasley is going to see you in a minute." The secretary said without looking up from the papers she was working on.
"You have to sign this guest card and you are good to go." She said.
When she looked up to give the card she stopped. Peter looked at her with questioning eyes.
"I, I just wasn't expecting you to be so young." The girl said when she noticed Peter's look.
"Yeah, I hear that a lot." Peter said with a fake smile and took the card.
He hoped this interview to be short.
He watched the news about Spider man. He laughed.
Did SHIELD really think that they could catch the spider this easily.
No no no.
To do that you needed people who were more...
sinister.
Otto laughed again. He was more than ready to crush the spider and the time has finally come.
The interview passed quicker than Peter expected. It was mostly boring and full of cliche questions. But at the end, Mr. Weasley decided to give Peter the job. Peter didn't know how but he didn't really care.
Mr. Weasley said he would gain $250 per month which was a great number for Peter. But again even this wasn't enough. He needed $750 and he had 2 months to find it. And he needed $100 this month.
Great Peter thought. Then suddenly his spider sense shouted at him. He heard alarms coming from the bank across the street. He ran to an alley to change into his suit which was already in his backpack, as always.
When Spider man came to the bank, he saw a mess.
Money was everywhere, people were screaming and a man seemed to be in the center of this mess:
Dr. Octopus.
"Now I can recognize those magnificent arms of yours from a mile away. What's up Ock?" Spider man asked while dodging a big metal case Doc Ock just threw at him.
"Spider man. As annoying as usual." Ock responded.
"Auch." Spider man said while holding his heart and pretending to be offended.
"So will you be nice enough to turn yourself in to the nearest SHIELD facility or do we really have to fight?" Spider man asked in a sarcastic tone.
"SHIELD facility?" Ock asked and he started laughing.
"What's so funny? You know, usually I be the one making jokes and laughing around." Spider man said.
"You know Spider man, if you do actually win this fight, which I give zero chance, you can actually take me to that SHIELD facility yourself. I am pretty sure they'll find you a beatiful cell next to mine." Ock said in a poisonous tone.
"Well, as long as we are not cellmates Ock, I can live with that." Spider man joked again.
"Live? An interesting choice of word. Especially when we consider that you won't be doing that for long." A different voice came from the back of the bank.
"Kraven. It's so nice to see you again. And you guys know each other from what, book club?" Spider man asked and turned to face Otto again.
"A huge book club." Another voice said.
"You would love this week's book. 'How to crush a spider.'" The same voice said.
"Sorry. Not my type." Spider man said while turning to face his new enemy:
Rhino.
Then he turned to face Otto again.
"Don't tell me. You're bringing your little squad back together again. With new members I presume." He said while pointing at Kraven.
"Not just him." Another familiar voice said.
Spider man turned to see Vulture. There was a familiar sparkle standing next to him.
"Hello Vulture, Electro. Long time no see." He said and turned to Otto again.
"So I get it. You renewed your book club. But won't Venom, Sandman, Mysterio and Green Goblin be sad when they hear they've been replaced?"
"I am sure they will forget about their sadness when we bring them your head." Ock answered.
"A bit violent today?" Spider man said and turned to see his other enemies.
He was surrounded.
"Wait a minute. I only count five of you. Ock I thought you were obsessed with the number six." Spider man said.
"I am." Ock responded.
Before Spider man could understand what he meant by that, he was knocked down by the Lizard. Lizard pulled him up and pinned him to the wall.
Spider man got free from Lizard's grip and started doging the sparkles of Electro and daggers from Kraven. He moved left to prevent Rhino from crushing him.
"I know I've been saying this over a year now." Spider man said while kicking Vulture in the face.
"But six against one. So NOT fair."
He tried to throw a web at Vulture to keep him stay down but then he remembered his web shooters were broken.
Shoot he thought. How was he going to beat them without the help of his webs.
He continued to dodge all his enemies attackts. When suddenly he felt a metal clamp around his wrist. He tried to get away but another cramp attached itself to his ankle.
Before he could react his other wrist and ankle had cramps around them and he saw the wall infront of him coming closer and closer.
With a huge crash sound he was pinned to the wall.
Pretty sure that just broke three ribs.
The moment he thought that he felt movement again. This time he was crushed to the floor causing it to crack.
Make it six ribs he thought while spitting blood.
He tried to get up but he felt a big pressure on his back. A foot of a rhino amount of big pressure.
He felt his broken ribs stinging into his lungs, probably ripping them apart because it was getting harder and harder to breath.
He managed to resist the pressure and block out the pain and tried to get up again. He couldn't get up but he managed to come to his knees. He rolled to the left side and he got free from Rhino.
He stumbled but got back up and kicked Rhino from the back. He was dodging the attacks from Lizard and was trying not to be turned into spider kebab by Kraven when he forgot about his sparkle friend.
A wave of electric hit him and he fell to the floor. This caused him to fail to dodge the final attack from Kraven. He threw a dagger right into his left palm.
Spider man groaned. He felt the nerves in his left hand going numb. He tried to get back up using his right hand and he felt another dagger placing itself in his right knee.
He fell down again. He felt the overwhelming pain spreading through his body.
That's when he realised the harsh truth:
He wasn't going to come out of this fight alive.
With a hard hit from a specific lizard's tail, he was thrown to the other side of the room. He could barely hear the screams of people who were still inside the bank.
He felt the claws of the Vulture, holding him from his shoulders. Vulture has already crushed him to the floor several times when he heard breaking sounds coming from both his shoulders.
Black dots were appearing in his vision and preparing him for the sweet feeling of unconsciousness, knowing that he might never wake up again.
"Enough!" Otto said while approaching to Spider man and Vulture.
He cathed Spider man from his wrists and ankles again, using his metal arms and pulled him up.
"You caused so many troubles to us Spider man." He said while looking at his arc enemy's limp body.
"What kind of trouble? Like weak fashion taste because I swear I have nothing to do with that one." Spider man said with a weak smile.
He knew his voice was weak, cracky and full of pain but he couldn't prevent it.
Everything just hurt.
He was going to die and he knew that.
He could even see the headlines of tomorrow's newspaper:
'Spider menace is no longer a treat'
or
'Spider man killed by his criminal friends'.
Otto's voice brought him back to the real world:
"Still cracking jokes. Wasting your last breaths with stupid lines."
"Stupid?" Spider man asked with an offended tone.
"You can kill me but you cannot insult my humor."
"Well let me give you the shocking news. Your jokes suck." Electro said and electricity spread through Spiderman's body.
He felt blood coming from his ears with the huge ringing sound. He tried so hard not to scream. If he was going to die, he was going to go down fighting.
When the electric was gone, he heard laughs coming from the six. He tried to break free from Otto's grip but it only ended up being a small strugle. Otto tightened his grip on Spider man's right wrist and a crushing sound was heard.
Great. A broken wrist. Just what I needed. He thought but black dots appeared again.
Pain was just too much.
Spider man didn't really care about dying. There were more waiting him there than here.
He thought about everyone he lost. Yeah, maybe dying wasn't that bad.
Then he thought about his friend he had to help:
Ned.
Ned needed him and his condition was all on Spider man. He couldn't just abandon Ned.
Time seemed to slow down. He looked around the bank. He saw the people hiding behind the chairs with terrified looks on their faces.
The people might have been thinking that he is a menace but he didn't think the same about the people (okey, maybe not Jameson) and that was all that mattered.
He had to fight back.
