"Fine, have you heard of the Sinister Six?"
There was silence after Marko's question. He sighed. He obviously didn't like sharing this information with the Avengers.
"Sinister Six is a group of super villians who swore to kill Spider man one day."
"Yeah, that's not violent at all."
"Do you know who he is?" Black Widow asked.
"No."
"Don't lie." She said with a more threatening voice this time.
"I don't I swear. Osborn does. Why don't you go ask him?"
"And you are okay with this?" Black Widow asked.
"Okay with what?"
"Osborn knowing the identity of your arc enemy and not sharing that information with you."
"I don't care about the man behind that stupid mask. I couldn't care less about what he does when he is not wearing that. All that matters to me is what he does when he is wearing it."
"And did Osborn care?" Tony was the one asking the question this time.
"Me and the other members were more interested in hurting the spider physically. That didn't apply for Osborn. He wanted to hurt him both physically and mentally. And to do that, he needed to know who was behind that mask. He needed to learn who he loved."
"And I am guessing he did." Black widow said with bitterness and sympathy evident in her voice.
"Oh, he did. I think he got some help from Mysterio and Doctor Octopus though. Some days even I wish that we just killed the guy. It would have been a much better fate."
********PRESENT********
Peter cracked open his eyes and saw the six figures standing above him.
"Am I in hell already?" He said looking at the figures just before Otto crushed him to the ground again.
He felt every single bone inside him burn. He forgot the number of the broken ones.
He tried to turn and get up but his action stopped when he felt 1000 Volts spreading through his body.
Peter grunted and Electro laughed.
"Sparkle, I missed you the least." He said through gritted teeth.
Otto lifted him up again.
"Oh, here we go agaaaaiiiiiiiin!" Spider man shouted while Ock threw him to the nearest wall.
With a loud sound he crashed to the wall and slide down.
People in the bank kept screaming. Some of them pulled out their phones and started broadcasting live on the internet.
Well, at least my death will break the rating records.
The Avengers were sitting in the living room. It's been three days since Nat, Tony and Steve came back from the hellicarrier and told them the information they learned from Marko. None of the Avengers would admit it but now, they all had an important amount of sympethy for spidey.
Tony came into the room, talking to Fury on the phone. He walked directly to the television and changed the channel.
"Hey!" Wanda protested.
"We were watching that!" Clint shouted.
Tony didn't say anything and just opened a random news channel. Every news channel was broadcasting the same thing anyways.
Spider man was fighting a bunch of super villians in the middle of a nearly destroyed bank. There were people inside the bank, screaming and hiding behind tables.
The video wasn't clear but you could easily tell that Spider man was loosing.
"The authorities say that the villian known as Doctor Octopus attacked the City Bank in Queens this afternoon. It is also said that he has company. The so called fight between Spider man and his villian friends have been going on for more than half an hour now." J. Jonah. Jameson shouted from the TV.
"But if you ask me, this is just another stupid trick planned by the infamous evil arachnid, Spider man. Do you hear that Spider man. You can trick the beautiful people of New York but me? Never!"
"Honestly, if Spider man doesn't kill this guy, I might." Tony said.
He didn't care if Spider man was a hero or a villian, he started thinking him more as a hero now after their meeting with Marko, one thing was clear and that was J. Jonah didn't like the spidey and his news telling was being affected by his feelings. Or the way Tony liked to tell it: He was being an ass-hole.
"We just got an inside view of the bank. One of the hostages is broadcasting live inside." J. Jonah said.
Avengers looked at the screen as a guy with metallic clamps crushed spidey to the ground. They saw him murmur something and a guy who looked like he was made by electricity jolted him.
Spider man grunted and Avengers felt worry for the arachnid. None of them knew exactly what to feel.
"Wait." Tony said, looking at the screen.
"What?" Sam asked.
"Shit." Natasha said and looked at Tony, meaning that she understood too.
"WHAT?" Sam asked louder and more annoyed this time.
"Count the villians." Tony said.
"Oh no. Is that-" Wanda said but before she could finish Clint shouted:
"SINISTER SIX!"
They watched as Dr. Octopus lifted spidey up and threw him to a wall. They all heard Spider man shout "Here we go agaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiin!"
"They are going to kill him." Steve said.
"How can he joke in a situation like that?" Hope asked.
"We have to help him." Tony said.
Avengers looked at each other. They knew what would happen if they didn't. And none of them wanted the death of a certain spider on their conscience.
Peter saw a big puddle of blood lying next to him. He tried fighting, attacking, defending... Nothing worked. Now it was time for his biggest weapon:
Talking.
"So..." Spider man said, lifting his head up a little to see the six evil figures.
"Who is going to kill me?"
There was silence for a bit. Peter smiled, knowing that the villians were not expecting a question like this.
"We all do." Electro said, suprise and inconvenience evident in his voice.
"No no no. I mean, who is going to make the final blow?"
"The spider is my biggest hunt. I can't leave the honor of hunting him to any of you idiots." Kraven said quickly.
"I went to prison because of him. I deserve killing him." Vulture said approaching to Kraven in a defensive position.
"So did I!" Rhino shouted.
"Are you kidding me?! You went to prison. What a big deal! He is the reason why I am like this." Elektro shouted.
"You are full of sparkles. So what? I could have been ruling the New York City if he didn't intervened." Lizard shouted.
"Are you idiots!" Ock was the one shouting this time.
"Can you not see what he is doing?! He is trying to make us fight each other. You can't get out of this one with your talking Spider man!" Octopus said turning to where Spider man was lying. Key word: was.
"Are you sure about that Doc?" Spider man said and jumped down from the ceiling, kicking Ock in the process.
"You idiots! Get him!" Ock shouted and tried to get up but Spider man was faster.
He grabbed one of Ock's clamps and pulled it out. Ock shouted and fell back to the ground again.
The other five looked at each other and launched forward.
Avengers got in the quinjet and got to the bank as fast as possible. It was a 15 minute flight with an akward silence before they saw the bank under them.
Clint landed the jet in the middle of the closed road and they got out.
The police had closed all the roads and waiting outsids the bank to prevent further damage. They saw Avengers coming and decided to expand the closed area.
"Shit!" Electro said as the six heard the sound of the quinjet. He looked outside the bank and Spider man took advantage of his distraction, kicking him from the back. Otto grunted and got up slowly.
"We have to go. NOW!" He shouted.
Meanwhile Spider man was fighting Lizard and trying to jodge Rhino's horn.
"NO!" Kraven shouted at Otto.
"THIS ENDS TODAY!"
Peter's spider sense went haywire and he turned to Kraven but he was too late.
He felt the cold sharp pain in his stomach and the air leaving his lungs.
The world started going dark really quick. Peter lost all the strength he had in his legs and began to fall but Kraven grabbed him from his neck and lifted him up, stabbing the dagger even deeper in the process.
Peter grunted and a small cry of pain escaped his mouth. It was like the world was closing up on him. Everything burned.
Kraven tightened his grip around Peter's neck, also forcing him to stand.
Peter gasped for air and tried to fight but he couldn't just find the strength to move his arms.
Kraven released his grip on Peter's neck and Peter fell to the ground.
He looked up and the last thing he saw was the evil grin of Kraven and some people shouting.
Then, everything was black.
