Hanako moved about the office, cleaning things up, and she looked up to see a man in a rather interesting hero's costume that reminded her of a male figure skater.
"Subaru Ejiri," he said, introducing himself.
Hanako watched him a moment as he greeted Keigo, but there was something off about him that put her in a state of unease. 'Mr. Hawks isn't bothered by him, maybe I'm just overreacting?'
While Hanako worked, Keigo sat across from Subaru discussing a potential business deal. Normally, he wouldn't give sleazy people like this joker the time of day, but he was persistent so he decided to hear him out before throwing him out.
Subaru droned on and on for over an hour and looked very upset at being interrupted when Hanako came over with her notepad to ask Keigo a question.
Keigo was grateful for the distraction, however, and leaned over to look at her question.
'It's nearly the end of my shift, sir, and I just wanted to see if there was there anything else you need before I leave.'
"No, you've done plenty today, thank you. Just check in with Ryushi before you leave, alright?"
Hanako nodded and excused herself, going to check in with Ryushi as instructed. She cleared her throat, hoping she wouldn't startle him.
"Ah, Miss Itami, what can I do for you?"
Hanako showed Ryushi the same question she had to Keigo, adding that she was told to check in with him next.
"I see, it's that time already, is it?" Ryushi looked around his desk. "I don't think there is anything else for you to do today, but I do have something for you... blast, where did I put it... ah! Here we are," He turned back to Hanako and handed her a piece of paper. "This is your schedule for the rest of the month. Days marked green are paydays, as you will be paid bi-weekly."
Hanako reviewed the schedule, finding no issues with it, then wrote her next question down for Ryushi. 'How would I go about requesting days off?'
Ryushi pointed to the username and password listed below the schedule. "Here is your login for the employee portal. You just go onto any company computer, enter in this username, then enter in the temporary password listed here," he pointed to the temporary password, "and once you've logged in, it will prompt you to choose and enter a new password." He gestured for her to come around to his side of the desk. "Here, you can use my computer to get started."
Hanako leaned down and entered in the information provided, then chose a new password as prompted with no difficulties.
"Good. Now, to request time off, you go to this menu and select this tab. Then you simply select the days and the times you want off." Ryushi continued to explain, walking her through each step. "We do ask that you try to provide at least two weeks prior notice, but we understand if something happens and that isn't an option for you. If the latter becomes the case, just come to me or Hawks directly for the request." He looked up at Hanako as she stood straight. "Do you have any other questions?"
Hanako shook her head and wrote a reply. 'No, thank you, Mr. Okita.'
Ryushi chuckled. "Please, you can just call me 'Ryushi'."
Hanako smiled at that. 'Then you can just call me Hanako.'
"Very well, then," Ryushi smiled. "If Hawks doesn't need anything more from you, I'd say you are clear to clock out. Oh!" Ryushi remembered something and pointed to another section on Hanako's account profile. "To clock in and out for the day, you go through here. When you clock in, just simply select the 'clock in' button and it will auto-fill the date and time. When you're ready to clock out, select the 'clock-out' button and it will auto-fill the date and time as well as calculate the hours worked."
'Amazing what technology can do, huh?'
"Indeed," Ryushi replied with a smile. "Hawks is horrible with computer stuff, so I usually end up being the one to handle it."
'He does seem like the type to get easily flustered with something like that.'
"You have no idea."
"Hey, Ryushi, is Miss Itami ready to go?"
Ryushi and Hanako turned to Keigo as he came out of his office with Subaru.
"Yes, sir, I just finished explaining the employee portal to her. She just clocked out and she has her schedule for the rest of the month."
Keigo nodded in approval. "Good." He glanced at Subaru as he passed by Hanako, his eyes narrowing at the way he was looking at her. "If there's nothing else, I think I'll escort Miss Itami to the main entrance."
"Of course, sir." Ryushi looked at Hanako and offered her a smile. "You did well today, Hanako."
Hanako returned his smile and excused herself to retrieve her purse and jacket. She waved at Ryushi and followed Keigo to the elevator, wondering why he wanted to escort her out.
The ride down to the lobby was a quiet one, as was the walk to the main entrance. When they reached the large glass doors, Hanako took a moment to write something down in her notepad- tearing out the page when she was finished and handing it to Keigo.
"What's this?" Keigo asked, looking down at the folded paper. When he looked back up at Hanako, all he got was a smile and a wave before she hurried out. Opening the paper, he couldn't help but smile when he saw the contents.
'I wanted to thank you again for giving me this job. Here's the address for our shop, feel free to stop by any time. Anything you order is on the house :)'
Keigo chuckled and tucked the paper into his pocket. "She sure is something."
