Chapter 4: Trouble in the Toy Factory
Z9 opened a large wooden door which his son Marvin was standing in front. "Marvin, welcome to Aladdin's toy factory." He smiled, introducing his son to the large toy factory being manned by many toons. The two-year-old's eyes then lit up with all of the stars in the sky as he ran around the machines to the working toons singing.
Brer Rabbit: (Whilst painting wooden toy planes)
It's Christmas time, Christmas time, we're in here in the factory. Making toys for you until December 24th. We're the toons of the factory we fill up Aladdin's store.
Will.E Coyote and Ralph Wolf: (Whilst putting together pogo sticks and scooters)
Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day. Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
Marvin ran straight into the toy factory, absorbing the wonder of it all. He found himself in the electronic section where a robot called Bender was putting together electronics for the teenagers.
Bender:
Dub, dub, dub that hammer. Ring, ring, ring the bell. For lots of noise and lights, for Aladdin's clientele.
Marvin quickly ran to the table opposite Benders where a cyclops called Leela and a man called Fry were working on toys aimed at children not much older than Marvin.
Leela:
A talking doll that dances, a puppet that has strings.
Fry:
A rocking horse that prances, a music box that sings.
Leela, Fry and Bender:
It's Christmas time, Christmas time, we're in here in the factory. Making toys for you until December 24th. We're the toons of the factory we fill up Aladdin's store. Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day. Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
Marvin was running around the factory with another two-year-old called Furball. They reached the sweet part of the factory for making sweets and putting them in stockings. This department was getting run by two gluttonous men called Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin. They were packing sweets as well as sneaking some themselves.
Homer:
Pick, pick, pick the candy.
Peter:
Pack, pack, pack the train.
Homer and Peter:
As workers we're really handy with a lolly, candy bar or cake!
A hornbill called Zazu was looking at a list. Marvin and Furball were just taller than him and were looking over his shoulders.
Zazu:
I got the list and am tallying and checking every name. (Zazu pointed to Marvin and Furball's names on the good list discretely)
Bender:
And though the gifts are mounting, no two will be the same.
Bender picked Marvin up as Furball ran back to his mother. Bender handed Marvin a teddy bear which he had swiped from the factory floor. For some reason Bender saw some of Marvin in himself. Bender put Marvin on his shoulders and ran him around the factory as Marvin laughed and put his hands in the air like he was on a rollercoaster. Marvin's eyes were lighting the factory floor like a disco.
Bender:
It's Christmas time, Christmas time, we're in here in the factory. Making toys for you until December 24th. We're the toons of the factory we fill up Aladdin's store. Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day. Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
(Finally, three hyenas called Shenzi, Banzai and Ed ran out of the break room ready to call Peter and Homer in for their break whilst they took over the sweets).
Shenzi, Banzai and Edd:
Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day!
Suddenly the door flung open in pure rage. The hyenas were blown by an aggressive wind across the factory and into the wall. Standing tall in the door way was a tall and thin martian woman with a tight baby blue silk top with extended long pieces of cloth coming from the arms; a dark blue skirt with snowflakes sprinkled on it in silver glitter and sliver ballet flats to match. The martian woman was holding three vicious, foaming and growling dogs back and had long, hair which was shimmering gold on the outside and deep red on the inside in three equal thirds running down her back. Her name was Maria and she was bad news. Upon sighting her the working toons hid behind machines and boxes, except Homer and Peter who locked themselves in the break room as they were too large to hide.
Bender carried Marvin behind a machine and put his fingers over his lips to tell Marvin to be quiet. Marvin copied the action, confirming he understood. Z9 and Tyranhee however were frantic, looking for their baby son. Greatly concerned for his safety at this moment.
"All right, someone is in deep ice!" Scolded Maria in a cold tone as she entered the factory with her three vicious pets: K9, Hector and Barnyard Dawg. She was followed closely by her assistant Iago.
"Who broke my ice garden!" Maria boomed through the factory before waving her wand at a machine, freezing it. "Well?" She asked again, before shattering shelves with her wand and destroying a remote-control dog which was made specially for a disadvantaged 7-year-old dingo called Shifty from the plains.
"Superb Maria." Laughed Iago who gave Maria an encouraging thump in the shoulder.
Maria glided eerily, deeper into the factory, full of pure fury and hate. "I want names!" She screamed. She then met eyes with Furball who stared up at her in pure fear. His parents had ran to get Aladdin who was currently dealing with the mail situation with Garfield and Odie, this means his parents could not protect him. Maria viciously hoisted Furball off the ground and yelled furiously into his face. "WAS IT YOU?!"
"No! No! No!" The frightened and tearful toddler screamed, before screeching. "MAMMY!"
"Maria! Put him down now!" Yelled a furious voice from behind. It was Aladdin, followed closely behind by Jasmine. Both of them looked enraged by Maria's fierce and merciless behaviour towards the toddler she had held and screaming in mid-air. "What is the meaning of this!"
"Someone vandalised by beautiful ice garden and I want justice, NOW!" Screeched Maria as she dropped Furball to the ground, fortunately he was caught by Leela and handed over to his mother whom was quick to get her son away from the monstrous martian.
"What evidence do you have that anyone from our kingdom was responsible?" Jasmine sternly asked.
"Duh! Because I found this at the scene of the crime. Hello!" Maria answered, sassy, like a bratty teenage girl, holding out Garfield's soggy lost hat.
Aladdin gracefully took the hat. "I'll get to the bottom of this." He hissed fiercely at Maria, he then took a more gentle approach. "Come on out everyone, there is no need to be afraid." Everyone slowly emerged from their hiding spots, including Bender with a shaking Marvin. Bender waved over Z9 and Tyranhee, pointing down at their terrified son. Tyranhee was still in tears; Z9 sighed with pure relief and ran up to Bender, hugged him and removed Marvin from his arms. Marvin kept a tight grip on his new teddy bear.
Aladdin cleared his throat. "Who does this hat belong to?" He asked, holding the hat up high in the air.
"Be honest." Smiled Jasmine.
Slowly and shaking Garfield emerged from the crowd, on the verge of tears. Odie behind him for support. Gently, Garfield took his hat and burst into a flood of tears, sobbing into Aladdin's leg. "Please don't let her take me. I'm too young to die." He sobbed.
"It was an accident Aladdin, honest." Pleaded Odie.
"Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll show you an accident." Laughed Maria in a sarcastic and immature tone. Then she approached Aladdin, towering over him and demanded. "Step aside street rat, I'm taking these culprits home to my castle."
"You are not taking them anywhere!" Retaliated Aladdin.
"How dare you obstruct justice! You turn them over or I'll close my ice bridge to the public!" Threatened Maria to the shocked gasps and panicked mutters surrounding the factory.
"But Maria, your bridge is the only way across the grand caesium, if you close it, we'll be cut off." Pleaded Aladdin.
"Hand them over!"
"I can't."
"Then my ice bridge is closed and if anyone from your village dares to cross it, I will bury the kingdom in my biggest storm yet! I am talking hail! I am talking sleet! I am talking snow and a wind chill factor that will knock your thermal socks off baby!"
"So be it." Aladdin had no choice but to give in.
"Good day Maria!" Jasmine snapped.
Maria left satisfied with Iago and her dogs. The room was silent. Garfield and Odie were collected by a frantic Jon Arbuckle, who was glad that his pets were safe and unharmed. They were greeted to a lasagne at home. However, Aladdin had to ask everyone in the kingdom to rewrite their wish lists which he collected from everyone personally, with his flying team helping him. (More on that later).
Tyranhee thanked Bender for caring for Marvin when Maria was in the factory. She kissed him on his cold metal cheek and told him that she and Z9 were forever in his debt through tears of relief.
Meanwhile Maria was getting driven home by Iago on a sleigh, her dogs pulling the sleigh diligently through the cold tundra. "Iago, Iago, Iago now we wait." She smiled with a sigh of relief.
"For what?" Asked Iago.
"What do you mean for what? Iago my friend, it is only a matter of time before someone crosses by bridge and on that day whoosh! I will through the storm that will put Aladdin out of business for ever honey!" Maria and Iago burst out laughing. "See ya street rat." They both laughed as they rode off into the distance to Maria's ice castle.
