Annabeth POV
Hades stepped forward dressed in black. They all bowed in front of him, except for Nico who stood still and nodded.
"For as long as I have been a god of the underworld, I have never seen a more powerful group of demigods other than you." Hades said. "Are you all ready to pass into a new lifetime?"
They nodded in agreement.
"Good. But allow me to explain the terms of rebirth." He muttered.
The demigods waited in anticipation for a good few seconds.
"Lord Hades, sir?" Annabeth asked. At his name the god looked up, "Yes, yes what is it?"
"Aren't you going to explain?"
The god looked takes aback, "Me? I'm waiting for your godly parents to say their final goodbyes!"
As if on cue light shrouded the room and the demigods closed their eyes and turned away from the bright light.
Each Olympian god walked immediately towards their respective child.
Athena towered above Annabeth until the goddess shrunk to human form.
"This is very dangerous, my daughter." The goddess' storm grey eyes reflected Annabeth's perfectly.
"Wait, it's not safe?" Annabeth questioned.
"No the process is indeed safe, Hades himself asked me personally to revise it. What's not safe is 4 children of the Big Three are rebirthing at the same time."
Annabeth suddenly realized what her mother meant. For all of them to go at one time was seriously and incredibly dangerous.
"But if we can't go at the same time" Annabeth replied, " All of us will most likely be split up into different parts of the world."
Athena sighed, "Yes, very true, which is why we gods agreed to send you off combining our powers. Even so it could rip the fabric of the universe as we know it."
Annabeth realized that every conversation in the room was immediately stopped to listen in on theirs.
"Now, now Athena," Zeus said, "We don't want our children to know the downside of all of this." The Lord of the Sky ended the most realistic and logical conversation in the room.
"Yes" Athena replied, "This will all work out, I have concluded every single danger in this situation and patched it, but-"
The King of the gods looked at her and they shared a private argument.
Athena gave in with a defeated look and turned back towards Annabeth but didn't say anything.
Zeus turned to Hades and he nodded back.
Hades spread his arms wide and an orb appeared in each of his hands.
He then proceeded to explain the process. After explaining, Alecto put the Helm of Shadows over his head.
The female gods reached toward one orb as the male gods reached for the other.
The Helm spread light (strangely) across the floor and it filled the air. Annabeth started to feel like she was drowning.
Her body began smoking, as did the other demigods. She felt like every a atom in her body exploded then imploded.
She barely managed to glance at the Olympian gods, to her surprise they were smoking as well. Pure Ichor, the blood of the gods, was falling from their hands.
The demigods floated upward in a circle, and Annabeth saw they were all in pain, torment even.
She took one last look at Percy, before passing out.
